If one were to look closely at the mountain behind the Roses, they'd see someone. A tall figure in full dark plate armor. A golden cross across his armored chest, and wearing a black cape with the same symbol. He has a helmet adorned with two golden wings, one on each side. He calmly watches the Roses assemble from afar, his hands clasped behind his back as his cape quietly flows in the wind. He stands there throughout the whole speech; watching, listening from afar, almost like an Inquisitor. "THE ROSES SHALL DESTROY THE ELVES!"A voice screams from the valley below. Jonathan Black smiles to himself before nodding, saying one phrase to himself quietly. "Good; let us teach them the errors of their ways..."

-HISTORY- The Chapter of the Lion was started under the Knight Commander Ser Lion the Horror. The Chapters’ purpose was to keep the Emperor’s Peace and fulfill the Emperor’s will in the Lands of Furnestock, Marna, Westfall, the Crown lands, and Arethor. They hunted down all Rogue Mages, criminals, traitors, and more. They continued to do this for many years under Lion's command. Then, after about fifteen years of doing this, the Knight Commander rank was given to Ser Mizu Silverblade the Bold. He continued the duties of the chapter of old, but was given the other duties of protecting the Imperial family as well once the Dragon Guard went inactive due to some mishaps still kept to those who know only. For many more years they continued to do as they were ordered. The Chapter first flourished under the Command of Ser Lion and Ser Mizu. But the Chapter began to slowly decline when their Knight Lt. was sent off on a quest, leaving the order without a Lt. and Knight Commander; Mizu had gone missing as well. During Mizu's missing time period, Grand Ser Uthor Silverblade went and picked up the remaining Knights. Uthor spoke to the Emperor and Grand Marshal Thomas Chivay on his plans of picking the Sariant Jonathan Black, a name he had heard only good about. The Emperor gave Uthor the blessing to bring him into Knighthood and give him the rank of Knight Commander. Now Ser Jonathan Black the Faithful leads the Chapter, continuing the duties of the ones before him into an uncertain future. -KNIGHTLY RANKS- Being a chapter of the Holy Order of the Red Dragon, the Knightly ranks are fundamentally the same. Knightly ranks and the associated information can be found at (http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/78658-the-holy-order-of-the-red-dragon/page__p__666324__hl__%2Bholy+%2Border__fromsearch__1#entry666324 ). -ENLISTED RANKS- Knights, while given the highest honor and respect in the Chapter, are not to be the most numerous kind of person in the Chapter; instead, the Chapter is to have a strong core of Knights while having men-at-arms and such as well, men who are not Knights but fight alongside the Knights. Enlisted men are given food, quarters, and gear. Enlisted men who are truly exceptional may be recommended to become a part of the gentry of Oren. Footman - Footmen are new to the Chapter and are either still in training or are simply extremely new. Man-at-arms – Men at arms are seasoned enlisted men that have proven themselves to be competent and loyal. Sergeant – The sergeant is in charge of all the Enlisted men, and is a man who has proven himself to be extremely competent, loyal, intelligent, and good at management. The sergeant has roughly the same authority as a Knight, but only in regards to managing the Enlisted men. -EXPECTATIONS AND DUTIES OF A MAN OF THE CHAPTER- - Men of the Chapter are expected to work and contribute to the Chapter, including doing tasks such as mining, woodcutting, farming, smithing, and fighting. - Men of the Chapter are expected to purge heresy wherever they find it. - Men of the Chapter are expected to protect the Royal Family and the Emperor; this is our main duty. - Men of the Chapter are expected to keep the Emperor’s Peace in the Empire, especially in the Capital City, wherever this may be at the time; this is our main duty as well. - Men of the Chapter are expected to be honorable, loyal, and respectful. - Men of the Chapter are expected to represent the Chapter in a good way in public; random acts of crime will not be tolerated. - Men of the Chapter are expected to hold a faith in the Emperor, The Creator, and the Creator’s making of Horen and the world. - Men of the Chapter are expected to follow the Code of Chivalry as closely as possible. -OOC RULES- (( - No trolling people outside of the Chapter, it looks bad. Audunian lore was cleared as OK as I remember... By a GM. If it wasn't OK, it should've been pointed out. This clarification is not really a clarification at all, it feels more like a major change; it seems reasonable that blending races would result in -some positive effects-... Instead of them all being negative.

the general idea is that people don't want to permakill their characters due to old age; time passes very quickly OOCly...

problem is, when people have been RPing otherwise due to no 'clarification', along with accepted lore halfbreeds like the silverblades, a 'clarification' like this is practically a change.

oh yeah let me go ahead and retcon my character i've had for a few months to be a fullblooded elf... and let's go ahead and kill off everyone in house silverblade. >_> sigh... this is really a shortsighted change that will impact tons of people in a very unfun way without really adding anything enjoyable except a few people who were complaining about this.

Just to elaborate on this post and give an example... Scipp3r or someone would make in-game books that could be read; the book would contain something such as "100 Oren Currency" or "20 Oren Currency", or maybe even "5 Oren Currency.", as well as Patrick Denims's signature on the book (Written by Scipp3r), authenticating it to prevent counterfeit. It would be called something other then 'Oren Currency', that's just an example... Exchange rates would be set up for the currency. For example, 1 Oren Currency might equal 1/20th of a diamond and 1/5 of iron, or something. What I like about my idea, as I said, is it makes RP sense and would allow for money to be effectively stored and stolen realistically. People would carry around their books/resources that -could- be stolen, adding a dangerous element. Other races would set up similar systems based on what they want to do.

I'd like for the nations to come up with their own currency. I'd love to see a system in Oren, for example, where books are used as paper money with the signature of the treasurer/Emperor to confirm authenticity. This paper money would have backing in diamonds/iron, preferably. Malinor/Dwarves could probably do something similar, and the orcs would probably just... Barter, or something, the barbarians that they are :P I think it would be great. It would allow the nations to have their own cultural elements in regards to money, would add a whole RP process for money, and would provide more RP in general.

((Given the fact that it's New Years Eve and then New Years, plus the fact that I'm going to see a movie today, I think It's going to be easier to just forum RP the meeting.)) Jonathan watches as the Knights who received his letter filter into the Courthouse one by one. A large table has been set up with a variety of foodstuffs on it; steak, potatoes, carrots, onions, and chicken, amongst other things. Jonathan takes a seat at the head of the table, and waits for everyone else to take a seat as well before he begins speaking. "Welcome; glad you all could make it... Now, as you know, this Chapter is making a comeback. You've either been selected to join the Chapter, or have come back to participate in it's revival. In either case, I feel as though I should clarify some things before we get to work. Firstly, who are we? I will not have this Knightly Chapter become a group of thugs. I was originally planning on building a keep there, but then I realized that we probably do not have time for this. Instead, we'll be erecting tents - either that, or you can stay underground, if you please. For now, we're going to collect resources and recruit men, along with the duties I've mentioned. In regards to recruitment, there's two major ways; squires, and footmen. You're all welcome to take a Squire for yourselves if you wish, but I expect them to preferably be of noble birth, and I want to see them first before you offically take them under your wing. In terms of footmen, the plan is for you all to be the core of our force; in a similar manner to the White Roses, we will have a number of men who are not technically Knights like you, but will fight alongside you as your brothers. I'll put up recruitment posters in the City to begin getting some of these men. Yes, there will be uniforms for both you and them, and yes, you'll be expected to wear them. In closing, I'd like to tell you that while this won't be easy, I can hope it'll be rewarding. I'll expect hard work from all of you - as well as myself, probably to an even higher standard." In response to my observations regarding the actions of Ser Lion Denurem and Ser Adorellan Baelish, I, Jonathan Black, will be shifting ranks around in my Chapter, assuming Grand Ser Uthor's approves Ser Lion Denurem, because of his exceptional work in assisting the Chapter of the Lion become functional and running thus far, as well as his past experience in the Chapter and loyalty to the Emperor, will be promoted to the rank of Knight Lieutenant. Ser Adorellan Baelish will be demoted to the rank of Knight Sergeant, taking Ser Lion's place, due to some incidents I have personally witnessed that make me believe that he is not mature enough to handle his current rank due to possible personal events in his life, as well as various actions taken by himself that are not befitting of a Knight to do. Additional details are available upon request. These changes will take affect as soon as the Grand Ser approves of them.
