  1. I feel like the Elves really don't have the wisdom that their characters supposedly do. >_>. The 'young one' has the right idea entirely, hope ya'll know that at least OOCly

      There we go, all loaded!

Now they seem to be hate filled...

The elves will do as any IRL section of race will do, change. Their wisdom may change as their culture does.

The culture of elves have failed before, in other fantasies. No reason why we couldn't degrade here. I can see a revivalist movement in the future with little effort.

  4. All throughout the Holy Oren Empire, posters are set in public places. They have the seal and symbols of the Chapter of the Lion on them, a division of Oren's Holy Order of the Red Dragon. The postings read as follows: The Chapter of the Lion is currently looking for worthy men to join as squires & footmen in order to serve His Holiness and Imperial Majesty Emperor Godfrey Horen I and the Holy Oren Empire. The Chapter of the Lion's duty is to protect the Crown Lands of Oren and the Imperial Family from all whom seek to do them harm. The Chapter is based in the Capital of the Holy Oren Empire. The Chapter is currently recruiting able-bodied men willing to serve the Empire as both Squires and Footmen. Nobility interested in joining may apply to be a Squire; commoners who wish to join will need to apply as footmen. Those who are accepted into the Chapter will receive benefits including room, food, weapons, armor, and board in the Capital city, along with plenty of fighting action in the name of the Emperor. Those who are interested in joining should fill out a form below and send it by bird (Private message on the forums.) to Noble Ser Jonathan Black. Hail the Emperor. Below the posting lie forms to be filled out and mailed by any interested. ((Mix of OOC and IC.)) MC name: Name: Race: Biography (At LEAST a sizable paragraph.): Do you have a VA? For which evils?: Why do you wish to join the Chapter?: Any past experience in Oren's military?: Skills and Abilities?: Criminal record?: What do you think the most valuable trait to have is?: Are you applying as a footman or squire? If you are applying as a Squire, you'll need noble blood of an actual offically approved Oren noble house:
  5. So Aruzond is more to give us a chance as opposed to spoon feeding us a victory regardless of overwhelming incompetence. Alright. He seems awesome, can't wait to meet him. I kinda wish you had revealed a lot less. :(
  6. OK, please don't tell me Aruzond is going to be a deus ex machina. It feels a bit lame, knowing that losing is nearly impossible because Aruzond will come save us if we're close to death, unless the antagonist can defeat Aruzond. That's just what it looks like from my view. Basically, I'm saying that I want us to be able to lose. If it comes down to it and evil triumphs, causing us to live under a cruel and repressive dictatorship with a resistance faction - so be it.
  7. OK, the complete lack of iron is starting to get insufferable. The iron was removed a week or two ago, and as a Knight Commander I'm starting to suffer. The idea to remove all the iron from the world entirely was, honestly, pretty terrible, as now there is really none to be had, and for a lot of people it's needed for RP. When are the mines coming out?
  8. Blundermore: 1. You're barely in Oren and you still seem to enjoy criticizing us a lot with a certain kind of arrogant, passive-aggressive attitude that seems to communciate a kind of superiority. It annoys a lot of Oren players and makes you look arrogant. Terms like 'Prancing around as nobles' and such contribute to this perception. 2. It makes RP sense that Oren's military is going to crush something it doesn't agree with. These people would be a danger to the realm and would be handled as such. Aside from that, the reason people are criticizing this idea is because it basically sounds like a whole bunch of guilds that -we already have-. The idea is killing magic users/heretics/being a zealous group of Knights. The Roses and Teutonic Order already are this. Furthermore, it doesn't seem like this person has anyone with them or any experience running a guild, which is also worrisome. It's a big mistake to just jump into something with no prior experience, let alone something which is fundamentally the same as something else. So, that's why I think people are objecting politely; they dont hate the guy, they just don't think it's a good idea, and I'd agree with them. Overall, I'd go with Mog's post - Forming a guild is fine, but you need experience with being in one first and some people to found it with you, and you probably also need a bit more originality in this idea. The Templar concept is very overused.
  9. Humans don't revere Krug because orcs are disgusting, vile creatures that pillage the countryside and kill innocent humans. It would make no sense for a human to suddenly be like 'Hey, let's go ahead and revere Krug!' The culture is bigoted and narrow-minded, nothing like what we have today. Humans would much rather revere Horen and the Creator and use them as a motivation. Krug makes literally -NO- RP sense whatsoever. Again, there's already multiple organizations focused on killing mages and heretics under certain circumstances. There's a lot of reasons why you can't just murder every mage, one of them being that Emperor Godfrey is not cool with rogue organizations randomly killing people.

  14. "I know. I'd rather be something which is actually important and matters in this world, and doesn't sound like a group of morons. No, I'd much rather be a Knight Commander and Grandsariant as I am today. Your ragtag group of fools does not even compare, and do not pretend like it does; it's insulting. Hail the Emperor." He chuckles at the elf condescendingly, shaking his head as he goes to carry the news back to Oren.
  15. The man looks up at the elf and laughs a bit. "Come back when your nation is capable of assembling an army. Stay in your forest and let Oren handle this... No offense, but I think your intervention would only make the situation worse."
  16. ((It's an IC response to an IC question is all. North is sealed up totally at the moment, but there's a group pretty close to it.))
  17. Jonathan rolls his eyes and sighs. "There's already a group doing that which will do it very well; calm yourself." He says rather flatly.
  18. Jonathan Black listens as the man gives his monologue, genuinely interested. The North... He had always had a dread about the North. Whether it was the mysteriously impenetrable ice wall, or perhaps the fact that he could see skulls and an abandoned city beyond it when he took the time to sail around it, he always knew there was something terribly wrong about that place. Evil had a tendency to hide in the most remote corners of the known world, and this area was no exception, it seemed. He had once told a friend that the ice wall was not to keep anything out in particular; it was to keep something in. It appeared that he was right after all. But then he smiled. Whatever -was- truly in the North, it had no idea what was coming. It would find out soon enough. ((I can't wait. Here we go.))

  20. You know, it's really stupid to be banning people for leaf decay when leaf decay has been turned off and on multiple times, along with the server bugging up. It seems really pointless, a warning would be much better.

Well, I was one the 8 that got banned. Three leaves inches from the the Wilds were protected by worldguard, I didn;t know this until I chopped the tree connected wiht those leaves. I left thinking it was a petite issue a staff member would sort it out. But no, I got banned for 1 day. I should've used "/modreq". Alright, fair enough. But still... Ain't that a kick in the head?

I love those moments where you get home from school/work nd immediately go to sleep and wake up in the evening, thinking you've just woken up the next morning, and you get really confused about why your family is up and making dinner.

  22. Jonathan Black is walking past the notice board as well when he abruptly stops and begins to read it. He feels drawn in as well; he reads over every word? When's the last time he had seen a library? As in, one with books? Now, when was the last time he had seen someone get their head cut off? A illiterate child roaming the streets? He had made up his mind and wrote a reply. "To Miss Myomi Hartsdottir, I, Noble Ser Jonathan Black, feel it is of the utmost importance for the capital city of Oren to have a sufficient library for its subjects. It is the will of the Creator that we understand the world around us for His glory. As such, I will donate the ink sacks and perhaps more supplies in the near future to you. I'd like to remind you to keep the content of your library appropriate to an Oren audience, however, as it is of great importance that heretical writings find no foothold in the Realm. I believe you already understand this, however. I wish you the best of luck and will have the ink to you as soon as possible."
