Helwyr: Masters of the Hunt
While many renditions of Hunters have been written about in the annals of history, the Heliwr was forged as a condonement of the aether and mundane utilizing an ancient Rite. These are hunters who have undergone rigorous mental and martial training, time-consuming mentorship to study and defend against the arcane fields and have developed a reliable foundation of alchemical knowledge.
Those who master the hunt pledge their learned skills to the destruction of the Occult and Evil. They take a sacred oath to defend those who cannot defend themselves and travel the land in search of hunts until their time comes.
To die in this endeavor is an honor.
The path to becoming a heliwr is one filled with a rigorous training regimen and specific tasks known as Trials, meant to be accomplished over a multitude of years.
Alcemyddion: Masters of Elixirs
Alchemy is an ancient art that predates even the creation of Helwyr as a whole. Often employed by the likes of scholars and Monster Hunters of yore, it has a variety of uses in the field and everyday life. All Helwyr will learn about Alchemy during their Trial of Ink but few learn how to brew such elixirs themselves.
Those that do will be named as an Alcemydd- a master of potions who can help to keep the Order stocked, or sling such tinctures over the field to defend their fellow Helwyr. Mastering alchemy is a feat that takes many years and often not something that a heliwr has time to do, so to become one of the few Alcemyddion is valuable to the order.
The Eternal Hunt
As the Helwyr embark on their hunts, they understand that their work will never be truly finished – they believe new threats are bound to emerge in an ever-evolving world. The Eternal Hunt is only over when the Hunter finally meets their match and falls in battle.
This is a concept often taught during the Trial of Ink. The Eternal Hunt instills every Helwyr with the ideology that true strength lies in an endless quest for greater adversaries. With every completed hunt symbolizing not only a battle against monstrous foes and the evils that plague society, but also a journey made to confront personal fears and doubts.
