  3. I agree killing is seen to often, most people /should/ have more morals than to take life as their first resort when in conflict; though pvp may be partially to blame for this. A solution is obviously not simple, my kinda ideal would be you need a VA to kill anyone unless /heavily/ provoked (should be a last resort in any case) as well as for insanity and torture; because if done well being the murder victim to a psychopath can be really good roleplay. However, what can be seen as "minor" crimes, such as thievery or even kidnapping should not be monitered with a VA. How I see it is that even the best people can be driven to crime in at least one part of their life, this does not make them villains, just a normal person with temptations and the like. To have an application for these "minor" crimes seems to stunt roleplay to me, and may lead to an increase in "petty" crimes.. but a reduce in actual, serious villains? Just my two cents. ^-^
  4. Faervel stares at a poster wistfully, pondering the huge sums of mina these items will go for. Maybe.. if she's lucky someone may buy her a late wedding present..
  5. Updated to 1.7.2, but they're having a few problems. We may have to re-schedule the Rahl present opening x3
  6. I had the same problem, it was recommended I changed the browser I was using. Originally I was using internet explorer, after changing to firefox I can now magically paste again.
  7. I had the exact same problem, managed to fix it by using a new browser (as recommended by Ever). For some reason it didn't like internet explorer, so I changed to firefox and now everything's dandy.
  8. Thanks for the suggestions! I tried both but unfortunately no luck with either *sadface.* Finally got it working thanks to Ever, turns out internet explorer doesn't like the forums.
  9. I'm trying to paste in my Villain Application that I've written in word, and although I do give access to my clipboard it doesn't paste in. I have tried this on several topics, and even out of word itself but have had no luck, wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to why this is happening and how I can fix it.

      MamaBearJade

approx 20 years if you are going by 2 weeks = 1 year. Thus since Feb 19 we have been in anthos around 40 weeks

    3. ĔṀĔŔĨĨČĶ

      ĔṀĔŔĨĨČĶ

eh, it's complicated. Because it used to be 1 year = 1 week, but it was chaned to 2 weeks = 1 year. Except I have a character older then 20, but who was born on Anthos because he was born during the old system of time. It's complicated.

    4. Heff

      Heff

Its complicated but around 20 or so years.

  12. Faervel pales slightly as she takes in the scene, cursing under her breath. Shaking her head she mutters to herself, "I expected this in Abresi.. not here." Then turning to hurry away she rest a hand on the hilt of her sword, deciding now more than ever she'd have to be on her guard.
  13. Faervel apon hearing the criers seeks out the nearest poster, taking a few moments to study each of the rings. Writing quickly she places a note down under the poster: "I would like to purchase the eye of the west for 60 minas."
  14. Faervel's eyes widen as she looks over the staff, hearing the bids being placed. "I suppose my staff isn't so rare anymore.." she sais to herself, before quickly heading of. Her thoughts on whether or not she should be selling up too.
  15. Faervel looks over the notice, biting her lip; after a few moments consideration she comes to a conclusion, deciding it may be useful to become a Warden despite the drawbacks. She then fills out the form with care, her writing elegant and slanted, before sending it of on a blackbird. Name: Faervel Race & percent of elven blood: 100% elven Place of birth (city, country, continent): Leumalin, Malinor, Anthos Age: 55 years of age ==========OOC BIT========== Mc name: tilly13 Skype, if you have: luckycharmno13 Alt or main?: As someone said above, I don't have a "main" character, I switch between them and spend a good amount of time on each.
  16. *A number of notes can be found on boards in many of Anthos' cities and towns, they are all handwritten in flowing elegant script.* Currently many of Anthos' inhabitants are seeking work or occupation in a Guild of some sorts, I too wish to join this growing number. As an able bodied, female elf reaching her 56th year I would hope there's some thing I could be doing, honestly pay does not bother me much. I would like to consider myself fairly good with a bow, and have basic knowledge in combat, though fighting is not my strong point. I posses medical knowledge, and have received basic training from a doctor and can complete household chores well. I realise there's not much going for me, and would like to just add I am extremely loyal with a great work ethic to possibly redeem myself. If anyone has any further questions or wishes to speak with me, please send a bird to Ahern Evercrest (Tilly13).
  17. Out-Of-Character Information Minecraft Account Name: tilly13 How old are you?: 15 Time-Zone: GMT Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Yes I have indeed. What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I have roleplayed on several minecraft servers, notably crafthammer which I was a veteran player on. Before I had discovered minecraft, I also did quite a bit of forum based role-play. How did you hear about the Lord of the Craft?: From a group of friends who roleplay on your server, youdude, insanepeople and paintballz to mention a few. Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: This's my second, I really beat myself up over not getting Lin'eraval right, I changed it last minute from that. http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/88395-tilly13s-application/ Have you read the Elven lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: I have indeed read it all, and will make sure to use it as instructed. Definitions In your own words define the following terms. Role-playing: Role-playing is to assume the role of a character, acting and behaving as they would themselves in a variety of different situations. Meta-gaming: Meta-gaming is the act if using knowledge which your character has not had access to from sources in roleplay, in order to gain some sort of advantageous position in character. Power-emoting: Using emoticons to complete an action not allowing your opponent, or whoever you're roleplaying with, a fair opportunity to respond or act. Almost forcing them to accept whatever has occurred, giving them no choice in the matter. For example "*Caitlyn walks up to John, killing him.*" In-Character Information: Full Name: Ahern Evercrest Current Age: 55 Sub-race (if any): Mali'Aheral Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Ahern’s parents had been partnered for centuries, madly in love and happy together. For many decades they had tried for a child, nearly approaching the infertile age of 500 by the time her mother became pregnant. Overjoyed the couple believed they had been blessed, and even before she had entered the world treated Ahern with everything she could ever need. Even before her birth deciding on her name, as in ancient elven Ahern can be defined as "blessed". However it’s safe to say they could not have expected what came next, as the loyalty to their offspring was to be tested. Ahern at first appeared to be like any elven new-born, but it was soon revealed she was different. Unknown to them all, at some point in time their bloodline had been corrupted by a Mali’Ker or what’s commonly known as a Dark Elf. Hidden in their family history this change had manifested itself in their daughter, giving her eyes the colour of deep amber. This rendered their otherwise beautiful child as ‘impure’ in the eyes of the Mali’Aheral, and due to this the couple were exiled from Lin'eraval. Both being poets, Ahern’s parents knew very little on living independently away from their eleven brethren. They scraped by though, essentially becoming travellers moving from place to place in order to survive without aid of their Council. Ahern was never blamed for their circumstances, the pair loved her unconditionally and spoiled her as much as they could afford to. Being raised outside of Lin'eraval put Ahern in a rather disadvantageous position though, the knowledge passed down to her would never equal what her brethren could receive. Without proper education she was left lacking in the logical thinking that was generic among her kind, becoming more sensitive and favouring the arts as a consequence; developing dancing as one of her passions. These factors led to her becoming less and less like a Mali'Aheral, and as she grew older her actions grew to surprise people, even her parents. Over all this time Ahern had no realisation she was any different though, ambling through life almost in a dream state, her parents holding all responsibility for her. It was not until she found herself shunned by a group of elves, who failed to acknowledge her presence until they decided to mock her, that Ahern found out. The experience led her to question her life so far, having her abnormality suddenly dawn on her was quite a shock to the system. Not wanting to face her parent, and the deceit they had conducted, she took what seemed to be the obvious choice, leaving to journey into the unknown; much like her parents years before. As foolish a move as it was, Ahern stuck with her decision to run away from her problems. This is where she finds herself now, penny less and alone, ready to begin her journey. Ambitions for the Future: Ahern lacks knowledge in most areas of employment, her real skills lie in the arts, a subject which she enjoys greatly. Whether it’s poems, singing or dancing Ahern intends to spend her future pursuing something which brings her happiness. Personality: Due to not having much social interaction apart from her parents, Ahern is usually quiet and reserved when surrounded by strangers. She lacks the insensitive, almost emotionless demeanour her race share at most times, often favouring a more warm hearted approach to life as this is how an outsider like herself wishes to be treated. This also is why Ahern finds herself often seeking the acceptance of others, especially elves, as it’s not something she has been automatically blessed with. The boldest you will ever see Ahern is when she’s performing, this is the time at which she can be confident and the mood can stick with her for many hours afterwards. Ahern also has a tendency to underestimate herself, as comparatively she’s neither as wise or aesthetically pleasing as her brethren. This factor also comes into play during confrontations, where she will in almost all instances back down and be defensive. Skills: Ahern has, as I’m sure you’ve realised by now, a lack of skills except from when it comes to arts. Though due to her many years of living on the bare minimum Ahern has decent knowledge of cooking and surviving from little. Literature is a strong subject of hers, due to her parents both being poets, she was taught to love words from a young age. Her real passion lies however in dancing, being an elf left her blessed with grace and the pass time seemed obvious to her. All her spare moments were spent practising the art of movement, and over time she has gained decent skill in this subject. It also can be noted she possess a singing voice, not anything especially powerful or unique but enough to stay in tune; Ahern often favours singing the poems of her parents creation. Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Standing at 6 foot Ahern is slightly on the smaller side compared to other Mali'Aheral, though in no way does this detract from her elegant, slender build. Ahern also has milky pale skin, like most of her kind, complimenting the silky blonde hair that flows across her shoulders and back. However her most prominent feature is unlike many of her brethren, large almost doe like eyes the colour of rich amber; Ahern prefers her hair to conceal as much of them as possible, resenting her difference. Comparatively to her eyes, the rest of Ahern's features are not anything special, a small button nose, high cheek bones, the pointed elven ears and thin pale lips. (For some reason it wouldn't upload this time, please refer to my previous application as it's the same.) Any other details you wish to share about your character: There are none I can think of. Open-Response-Questions (Just a note, Ahern is not much of a conversationalist. The dialogue is probably severely lacking.) 1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of older elves are mocking a small elven child. How do you react? Answer: Ahern would instinctively wish to ignore the goings on, to avoid any sort of confrontation which could end up occurring. It is for this reason she would, keeping her head down, walk by as if she was none the wiser to the child’s plight. Although looking calm and nonchalant on the outside, inside her morality was battling as Ahern would begin to feel guilty for her actions. For this reason she would find herself turning round, heading slowly in the direction of the whispering and snickering. With her hood covering most of her face, Ahern would come to stand beside the fellow elves physically shaking almost in her nervousness. Turning to face the new comer the older elves looked her over curiously, in response she spoke quietly “What’s.. what’s going on here?” Again the older elves would begin snickering, at Ahern's feeble attempt to speak and stand against them. Flushing red she would turn to the small elven child, who now was no longer the source of amusement, motioning for them to go as the older were distracted. Then without a word she too would turn to leave, knowing she had done all she could. 2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenceless - what do you do? Answer: Ahern would feel immediate empathy for this old man, and without hesitation run to his aid. Extend a hand to him, pulling him to his feet as best she can then providing any needed support. Once he was steady, she would bend over to retrieve as many coins as possible, collecting them in the pouch. While her back is turned however, Ahern would not resist being slightly greedy, slipping a few of the coins into her pocket as a result. Knowing that in reality it was going to be a while before she saw any gold coins of her own, this doesn’t stop guilt filling her though and for this reason she offers to accompany the man till he reaches his destination. So for the next few hours Ahern walks beside him, keeping him steady and safe till they reach the nearest town. 3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved). Answer: Ahern wouldn’t have to think too hard about what she wishes to purchase, immediately inquiring if the trader was in possession of a cloak; as she feels the need to keep herself hidden and inconspicuous while travelling. As luck would have it the trader had many cloaks to offer, in beautiful materials and colours with delicate patterns too. However Ahern was very conscious that she had barely any minas to spend on an indulgence, so quietly asked to see the cheapest option, her voice shaking slightly. Seemingly reluctantly the trader held out a thin velvet cloak, a deep midnight in colour. Though not as startling as the others she had been shown, Ahern instantly fell in love. Maybe the trader could sense the desperation in her eyes, as he declared the cloak to be 80 minas; whereas Ahern only possessed 20, which had been saved over a long period of time. Nervously Ahern felt for the coins in her pocket, fiddling with them absently as she asked “Is there any way we could bargain on this?" The trader watches her for a few moments, and then proposes a lowered price of 40 minas. Ahern looked down to the floor in embarrassment of her predicament, not wanting to expose how vulnerably penniless she was. Summoning as much courage she then spoke again, “I’m afraid I cannot even afford that sort of price.” The trader’s eyes now fill with pity, but he knows he must not reduce the price any further; otherwise there’ll be no profit from him. Taking the silence to mean there would be no more bargaining; Ahern nods her head and after thanking him for his time in a whisper, turns to leave. (It also seems my laptop is an hour ahead of the website, I apologise for the timing issue and hope it's not a problem.)
