  2. This is what i'm saying, and what happens to the people who know magic? Are they going to be forced to drop their magic or will they lose it? Seems stupid if you ask me.
  3. You could easily say your character is non-religous or an atheist until you find out the religions, unless that's what you've been doing.
  4. Lots of shadying things going on magic wise... Being told not to teach people thne the magic being taken down due to inactivity or lack of use?

  6. Don't wipe out all magic what You have to let go my friend. Right now everything is pretty everywhere. Restarting and having everything better defined is much better. Clearing everything just to remake 3/4 of the exact same thing seems like a waste of time on everyone's part.
  7. I have to agree that the unstated trial wasn't fair to the group, also the fact that they were told to rewrite their entire lore and customs wasn't fair, but that's just one persons opinion. Perhaps you should've informed them.

  9. I see NO reason to remove Shades as they might be a small group, but are pretty relevant in RP to my knowledge, not as much as say the Necromancers or Frost Witches, but still pretty up there. I see necromancers and frost witches around more often than shades so don't know what you're talking about or where you get that info. Can we see Shades, Blood Mages, and their ilk get removed, too? I would give my applause. I see NO reason to remove Shades as they might be a small group, but are pretty relevant in RP to my knowledge, not as much as say the Necromancers or Frost Witches, but still pretty up there. I see necromancers and frost witches around more often than shades so don't know what you're talking about or where you get that info. I did say not as much, and I guess you and I have different groups and different areas, sorry you don't see them as much as I do.

  12. If they don't get used there is no point in the taking up space on the list, in my opinion.

      Because with dark magics you don't ask. You slowly work your way into it unless you are friends OOCly.

      Walking up to a Necromancer and asking them to teach you isn't a viable path to take.

  14. Gimme examples. And what is a 'staff endorsed magic'? Technically all of them are. Blood magic. Not really staff endorsed. Blood Magic comes under the same threats of removal for inactivity as these magics. I just made it more active and plan on making more blood mages. I take on three students at a time and will be finishing my first batch soon. Raptor's stated differently, but if you're able to move it out of the current clique it's in, props to you. Raptor is no longer playing on the server, thus I took over the magic in teaching it and leading the group attached to it. I'm adding quite a few people as blood mages. But the problem is due to the nature of the magic it requires very good RP'ers to use it without being powergamers. Regardless if I have staff or just normal players as Blood Mages my main priority isn't trying to beat other players, rather it is to make a group that understands how to make fun for other players. It has been described as an event magic before, but I'd describe it myself as a Magic that can be used in events to help storylines form. I guess it makes sense when you put it in the way as it's an Event Magic, I hope the next few blood mages are able to drop this whole "locked" statues on it.
  15. Lulu raises a valid point there. Fi magic is less used than at least two of the ones just removed. I think Fi is one of those magics on lock, not as bad as Blood Magic, but pretty locked. The magic user-list suggests Blood Magic is making an effort to fix that, even if it took a while. It also suggests Fi magic isn't doing the same. Which is rather weird because in my personal opinion Blood Magic seems like the better of the two, but that's just me. I feel as though lots of magics need to work on their "locked" statues, but that's a topic for another post. Blood Magic is locked due to the fact you need knowledge to actually know how to use it. So I teach people the knowledge, show them a practical lesson, then after a while they are able to do it themselves. I understand the RP reasoning for it, but if you look at the magic list for say, dark arts, lots of the same people seem to run the dark magic things. I'm not going to be one of those people, but yeah I see both sides of this.
