  1. Karina Victoria Gotthold * D e p i c t i o n d o e s n ' t i n c l u d e t h e c r o o k e d n o s e * More relevant visual depiction HERE. "I choose Violence." - Cersei Lannister Gahahahaha you expected a quote from someone else here?! Basic information Karina is a 26 years old Heartlander human. She was born to house Gotthold, her father being Konrad Gotthold and her mother Amalia Gotthold. Karina has a brother and three sisters. She currently resides in the Wilfriche chapter house within Johannesburg's Apostolic Palace. She's forging weapons and armour for the order. Besides that, she serves the pontiff as a Holy Dame. Physical description Karina is 5'9'' tall and weighs 180 pounds. Her body is rather boxy from being well-fed, with heavy muscles built up from manual labour. Overall, she has a strong and unladylike body and posture, resembling a modern-day weightlifter's or heavyweight boxer's. Her hair is straight blonde and she either wears it loose or in a braid. Karina's eyes are emerald green. Her face is oval, with an oversised nose that's often compared to an eagle's beak, with the addition of it being slightly crooked. Her brows rest in an expression of surprise, while her small lips are stuck in a fair frown. She doesn't have any tattoos or major marks on her skin, apart from a few birthmarks. She has a fairly large cut across her back that festered into a lasting scar and far more cuts on her arms, although none noteworthy there. There's another scar running down the right side of her face, from her temple to her chin. Clothing and equipment Karina usually sports simple red rags for her everyday work, with a stained woolen trim to keep herself warm. When going to battle, she dons full plate that's always kept in top-notch shape since it's her own handwork. When in an audience with nobility, she wears a red gown with a corset (that presses her posture from "bulky craftswoman" into "chubby politician"), the fur of a fox on her shoulders and a nice amount of steel jewelry polished shiny to resemble silver. Apart from those, she doesn't usually have any jewelry of the kind equipped. Her favoured weapon is her bidenhänder, a fairly large two-handed sword with double crossguards and a long hilt. The blade is carried around on the shoulder much like a polearm and used in wild circular swings to keep foes away (EG, a Landsknecht's tactics and weaponry), compensating for her lack of reach due to height. Another favourite of her's is an executioner's battle ax that she can carry around, with a blunt back side for knocking out opponents. Physical strengths and weaknesses: Constitution: Karina spent days if not weeks or months down in the mines of Aethermoor after she left Felsen to make a living. During this she developed exceptional constitution that's remarkable even in war standards. The main reason she chose to wield a two handed sword is because hacking with full body's power resembles swinging a pick axe around that much. One thing she misses however is the ability to sprint and run for longer distances than a mile, in such cases coughing fits often interrupt her due to previous minework still at the bottom of her lungs. Short: On the other hand, there's her height. While in commoner and burgher standards, especially for a female, she may seem to be above average, when it comes to her lifestyle and the military her height is a definite weakness. She's five inches shorter than what could be considered a normal soldier's height and with that, her arms are shorter as well. While a zweihander lets her ignore this against closer quarter enemies, she can't effectively fight with a war axe unless she shoves into her enemies to negate the difference in arm length. Personality description Personality traits Eloquent: Born a burgher in Felsen, Karina learned how to kiss up to others, hide her intentions and generally speak with a silver tongue. This helps her a lot with interactions, especially towards the nobility of the realm and during negotiations where a good word or two can press for better outcomes. She's also able to keep up the poker face and the smile when discussing matters, except for a few specific topics ... Outspoken: Despite her general eloquent nature, Karina often talks her mind even if such doesn't benefit her at all. Most prominent is her being outspoken about her cruelty, zeal and skepticism in matters. Intelligent: She has always been fairly intelligent in the practical way. While she doesn't know much about history and has the same troubles memorising things as others, she can find solutions and resolutions to situations faster than others, and can resolve things others can't. Her intelligence comes to foreground the most when she's scheming to outsmart others in politics, or simply when she conspires against someone. Cruel: Something just amuses Karina when others suffer, a flaw that she couldn't get around ever since her childhood. It doesn't mean unnecessary evil acts wherever she goes, more so an awkward smirk when seeing misery up-close and a general apathy towards the suffering and plight of others. Zealous: A fairly neutral trait of hers is her devotion to the church and religion. She has a general hatred towards any other race (including Farfolk) than humans, a spite against heathens and heretics and an obvious avoidance of magic. For the general Orener, this comes off as a moral, loyal, honourable and patriotic persona. For others though, it can seem utterly disgusting and repulsive. Optimistic: Her deep religious nature leaves her with a constant optimism towards any bleak outlook and the ability to remain witty even in the most dire situations. The only situations where she reveals a fair scent of realism is in politics or schemes, when she suspects something amiss ... Skeptical: While she often smiles and waves, her intelligence and experience with her own eloquence leaves her skeptical about most social interactions, even paranoid sometimes to the point that she schemes and conspiracies where there aren't any. Likes Architecture: Karina has always had a passion for architecture and buildings. Oftentimes she just sets off from her home on a week's or month's trip to see an architectural marvel with her own eyes. Architecture's also one of the very, very few exceptions for Karina's racial bias. While she still holds human castle building and cathedral construction as the very height of architecture, she can somewhat appreciate dwarven and elven buildings. Alcohol: While not an outright alcoholic, Karina does in fact consume an over-the-board amount of alcohol, especially wine lately. Perhaps the reason is that she had to skip the daily mead for a whole of two years when she couldn't afford it, and now with some wealth behind her back she can indulge herself in barrels of dry red. War: There's two reasons for Karina's love for war: the first is that she loves to swing her bidenhänder, the second is that her family's trade is weapons manufacturing and military supplies. In a sense, war means entertainment and business for the young Gotthold, and she needs nothing more. Riding: Another hobby of hers is riding. While she's good on horseback, Karina has yet to learn how to wield a lance or how to even navigate a horse in combat, so for the while this remains a peacetime leisure activity of hers. Dislikes Elves: Karina considers elves to be overly arrogant, inefficient and uncultured compared to humans, whereas the truth may as well be the contrary at all accusations except the first. She avoids elves, fails to respect them and often has slips of the tongue for degrading remarks. Orcs: Even more so than elves, Karina can't even properly look at an orc without cringing or remarking something about "stupidity", "brutishness" and "heresy". She considers even the most innocent of the orcs a fearsome animal to defeat or repel. Personality strengths and weaknesses Adaptive: Perhaps the strongest trait on Karina's palette is her adaptability. In the company of soldiers, she's ready to lower her bar of etiquette and act along, while in the company of nobility she's ready to display whatever etiquette was hit into her. Paranoid: Her most prominent weakness is her paranoia, which can easily drive her to confront close friends or even family members when she feels they are "after her" with a plot. The sole reason she fled Felsen to begin with was her paranoia against her brother and extended family. Combat description Karina generally avoids combat where it's unnecessary, seeking to resolve conflicts through wit and talk instead. In close quarter combat, she wields her two-handed sword to complement her lack of reach. When using a shield and an axe, she seeks to get as close as possible to the enemy and press her shield against them, shifting combat more into a brawl. Favoured weapons For melee combat, she prefers either a bidenhänder or a bearded war axe. While she doesn't have any special preferred war axe, she does keep a bidenhänder she crafted herself. It lacks any major decorations apart from the handguard, which is wrought iron and curled up at the ends to resemble small flowers. Link for picture. For ranged combat, she uses an arbalest that she made in Krinford. It's rather crude, with parts larger than usual and some sides unpolished. The only decorations on it are a set of carvings in the stock she made out of pure boredom while sitting in the tower, glaring at the battlefield between the rebels and Oren. She bought a cranequin to make loading it easier. Link for picture. Relationships (To be added) Background information (To be written)

i'll have you know I personally popped over 80 dreadlanders solo

  3. I think it's perfectly reasonable to have multiple coalition warclaims against Oren at the same time. Since the whole point of the coalition and rebellion is to divide Oren forces and surround the Empire. It'd be unfair to have Oren forces fight Vandoria with full force one day, and then Courland the other day. In character, I think it'd be more than logical to direct two attacks at once. Or more, even.

We ain't community, having a blacksmith for a house head would be weird. Just a weird coincidence and an inside joke for Aethermoor :D

I'm pretty sure if Oren could, it'd do that. Warclaim the cloud temple for the sole purpose of preventing resurrection and monkbread for a week.

  6. OOC Mcname: Medvekoma Skype: You already have me, I think Timezone: GMT (BST) IC Name: Karina Gotthold Age: 26 Race: Human Main weapon of choice: Two-handed sword Secondary weapon(s) of choice: Pike What role do you wish to have in the guard? For the while, probably recruit. Later on, maybe either officer or scribe. Or perhaps a sword of Aethermoor, who knows ... perhaps there'll be more rescue missions :D Why do you want to be part of the Fos Aspida?: Have been semi-part of the force-war-group-army thing anyways. Just decided to make it official for Karina. Do you currently have a home in Aethermoor? Yes. Do you swear loyalty to Aethermoor and that you will abide all of the rules? Yes. Lastly. Answer these questions truthfully (be true to how your character will react to these situations and try and be as detailed as you can, this helps us to check on your RP as well as see what your character is like): You see a woman walking down a street. The woman is old and runs a nearby bakery shop in the town, carrying a few bread packages to her shop. Suddenly, a thief darts out from a nearby alleyway and manages to take the goods. The thief speeds away with the stolen items. What will you do? Karina would probably dart after the thief in an attempt to tackle them. Especially since the latest battles and fights, she's rather cocky. Although, she would probably care little about the bread and would just take the fellow in for questioning and perhaps a beating or two, not helping the old woman in any way. You are on duty at the gate. Everything is relatively peaceful until a man comes up to your post. You recognize the man as someone who is banished from the town due to his drunken and violent behavior. He is demanding access into the town. In an attempt to persuade you, he attempts to bribe you with two hundred minas. If you refuse his offer, he will then offer you two thousand minas. What do you do? She's probably accept the bribe straight away, let the man walk in then tell another guard she thought she saw the man sneaking in and have them capture the man. If questioned about the bribe, she'd probably say she planned it all out to bust the man and she'd probably lie, saying it was twenty minas or something. Karina's a miner, nothing more right now. Two hundred minas make a change in her life.
