1863 January-June ______________________ Events 1863 The Shelling of Fort Sumter! On March 21st, 1863 the last stronghold of the Union falls. After refusing to surrender their positions to Confederate forces who were now encircling the fort, the shelling began. Guns from all sides pounded the fort relentlessly for hours on end. After nearly a week of siege, the Union forces surrendered the fort, marking the end of an era. The surrender of Fort Sumter was followed by a Union declaration of WAR upon the Confederate States of America. Founding of ‘Standard Oil’ In April, one of the regions first oil facilities are opened in Cleveland, Ohio. A partnership by John D. Rockefeller and his brother, William Rockefeller known as ‘Standard Oil’ The company has already begun to experience immediate success. What will become of this mad success? No one can predict. British Embargo Following the outbreak of war between New York, and the New English power bloc, the British found a rare opportunity. At the request of not only their dominion as well as the alleged plot to stir rebellion in Maine the British Empire ceases all commercial activities in an embargo with the New English countries. This Embargo was denounced by France, who could be considered a growing New English trade partner and friend. ______________________ Commonwealth of Virginia The construction of the Ironclad squadron continues, however a portion of its funding is taken with the outbreak of war with New England. Nonetheless, construction continues, the workers promise the two sister ships will be finished for 64’ The British accept the offer, on June 1st a British bank is opened in Richmond The expansion of the Congo colony continues slowly, it lacks much public interest. However it does see an increase of settlers. In Richmond, protests erupt following the entrance of war on New York’s side. The streets are filled with many deeming the war to be pointless and far outside Virginia's scope. In politics the declaration of war only narrowly passes through Congress. Many Virginians feel the government is now abandoning their southern values and brothers. Many more are uncertain why the war was entered in the first place, New England processes cotton just the same as New York! The recruitment of another Virginian army corps narrowly succeeds. A large portion of Virginia was already under arms and public support for the war was very mixed. However another 26k men begin training. Pennsylvanian Commonwealth The five year plans continues as planned! The commonwealth sees a fair amount of industrial growth over the early months. The organization of ‘sharpshooter’ units is carried out. The best Pennsylvanian marksmen are chosen for these more elite units. Armed with still very rare spencer carbines they begin drilling and perfecting their functions over the early portions of the year. The construction of additional ships begins, the construction team estimates they will be finished for 1864. Additionally, the company tasked with the construction of the P.C.S. Bismarck has exceeded expectations! The efficient and well organized team finishes the Ironclad months ahead of schedule. It leaves its drydock on May 21st 1863! The Federal Empire of California The laws concerning mandatory conscription are passed handily. Many applaud the law believing it to be a step in the right direction for California, others grumble. Californian troops march east, occupying and establishing forts and camps across all of the Washington, Utah territories as well as up to the Rio Grande. Across the occupied territories, many openly accept Imperial authority, those who oppose it are a quiet minority. Some of the most open supporters of the Empire are the Native tribes. After a brief conference with Mexican governors of Baja California, and the poor state of the war against the French the Governors are easily convinced. the provinces of Baja California and Baja California Sur secede from Mexico in late May, before officially uniting with the Federal Empire of California 10 days later. The proposition of a Trans-Pacific trade and migration pact is turned down by the Japanese and Qing governments. However Russia, eager to bring more settlers to Alaska agree along with Hawaii. New York The continued growth of the New York economy continues, aided by Vanderbilt’s personal connections and his willingness to increase cooperation with private industries. Improvement of the New York Ironclad is hard to do before it is even finished. However, in late May, the ships is finished and is tested in the Harbour, where it proves to be quite resilient. Two more ships are commissioned. Huge support follows Vanderbilt’s call to war, the request of 50,000 new recruits is easily met within the first week or two. By the end of early 63, they are largely finished training in western New York, far from the front. The private sector begins to shift to war products, capitalists are all eager to make easy government money. Commonwealth of Massachusetts Industrial reforms are enacted, New English factories soon begin receiving state of the art equipment. Increasing not only the quality but the quantity of New English goods. 40,000 men are called upon from the manpower pool, they begin training and are deployed to the front at the beginning of June, 1863. Production of Spencer carbines increases, however not by much. Union of Concord The recruitment drive is successful, however many reports indicate the stress the army is causing to the industrial sector. Production quotas are getting higher and the workforce is shrinking. The Ship of the Line is estimated to be finished in time for 1864. Confederation of Southern States Teaching of French becomes far more common, many embrace the revival of their French culture, more die hard southerners disregard it. The National University is successfully funded, construction begins. It is finished in late May. In a historic day, the Confederation expands its borders even further west. Texas is the first to respond to the request, followed by Arkansas. The three states had shared a close bond since the beginning of the post-union period anyways, it made complete sense to the governments to join together for mutual protection. Public support everywhere was quite strong, however there was always a small minority that opposed the expansion. Ohio The government's focus on steel production yields good results. The steel industry sees a good growth and overall production trends are predicted to continue their growth. After hearing of the great victory at Andersonstown, shaking war support begins to grow as the populace becomes far more confident in the military’s capabilities. The shipment to Virginia is sent. Many are disgusted with the open support for a southern let alone slave state. Federation of Connecticut and Rhode Island The ironclad project continues without delay. After observations from the battle at New York, several adjustments are made to the Ironclad’s design. It is still expected to be finished for 1864 The mustering is a success, another 40,000 men are trained and ready to be deployed at the end of May. Education and Land ordinance reforms pass

Republic of China 2036 ______________________________________________________________________________ Establishment of the Republic The years following the Sino-Indi had left the country in ruins. The largest of the population cities had been wiped off the map. Subsequently, the unforeseen nuclear bombing of Beijing had completely crippled the People’s Republic. Government on almost level was paralyzed. Confusion ran rampant across the country. In the power vacuum left by central government, regional figures to revolutionaries seized their opportunity. The now splintered country erupted into warlords and infant states. War tore through the country as various powers vied for control. For years the country was torn apart with war. However, through the dust and destruction came unity. The Nationalist Beiyang army, drawing its name from the decades old Imperial Army seized power one city at a time. On February 5th, 2036 the new year brought way to a new regime, the Republic of China was officially proclaimed in the new capital of Tianjin. ______________________________________________________________________________ The Reconstruction The Sino-Indi war had left large swaths of China completely devastated. Radioactivity was ever present in many regions and massive cities were reduced to rubble. Following the establishment of the Republic, the government began taking massive strides to rebuild the country. Huge programs geared towards rebuilding villages, towns, and major metropolitan areas are put into effect. Additionally, programs designed to provide aid and housing to displaced citizens is launched. Perhaps the most ambitious of these projects is the reconstruction of the old capital in Beijing. ______________________________________________________________________________ Chinese Menu Initial Investments Economy--- 150 AP- 6 stacks of Agriculture [25 a peice] Military--- 15 AP- 375 Fighters, 5 AP - 125 Bombers, 1 AP - 100 Helicopters, 10 AP - 50,000 men, 7 AP - 1750 APCs, 7 AP - 700 Tanks, 3 AP - 150 Mobile Artillery, 2 AP - 20 MLRs --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Turn One Expenditure 24 AP - Agriculture stack [24/25] 5 RP - Fighters t2 [5/20] --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Efforts to begin rebuilding the old capital at Beijing begins [ MOD ] Requests to begin trade are dispatched to [ Everyone ] A formal apology to the global community for removing Taiwan from the map is delivered [ Everyone ]

Application: Your Discord’s name: SUPREME leader#1328 (You have it) Your Nation: Revolutionary France Short background of nation: France was the prime reason for the collapse of the EU. In turn, its withdrawal was primarily caused by internal revolution within the nation. As the early 21st century continued, the people of France became increasingly fed up with the 5th Republic. Growing unrest began to show in late 2018 when riots encompassed much of Paris. The years of instability continued with increasing severity. By 2020 the country was on the brink of Civil War, long dominant left and liberal majorities were slowly eroded by a growing center-right coalition of Industrialists, Fascists, Centrists, and Monarchists. By 2021 the vast civil turmoil had brought the 5th Republic to its knees. In January the country entered a state of complete civil war. Revolutionaries rose up across the country, including much of the armed forces. Over the course of the next few months, they quickly overtook 5th Republican Loyalists and toppled the regime. In its place the 6th Republic was formed and consolidated at its head a popular figurehead and military man, Louis Faucheux. 1862 June-December ______________________ Events 1862 The French Intervention in Mexico continues, on April 9th Britain and Spain withdraw from the military coalition, leaving France as the sole participant in the campaign. Virginian officers, some with experience in the Mexican-American war arrive to aid the French in their campaign. On May 5th at the Battle of Puebla, French troops win yet another victory over their Mexican foes. Later in the year, both Tampico and Xalapa were occupied. The abolitionist movement continues its spread across the ‘Border States’ many abolitionist parties begin to form in states such as Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland and Missouri. In direct response to the C.S.S’s formation and takeover of much of the Cotton industry as well as the rise of cooperationist ideas, the states of Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina join together as the Confederate States of America. Prussian Prime minister Otto von Bismarck delivers his Blood and Iron speech to the Prussian landtag. ______________________ Commonwealth of Virginia Jeb Stuart leads a number of successful raids into Maryland. The state is slow to respond, and raids continue to hamper the state until late fall when the attacks become more dangerous. The raids, though it is unknown who is responsible for them are largely praised in West Virginia and much of Virginia proper. The French accept Virginian support in the war after losing the support of both Britain and Spain earlier in the year. Many of the men sent to France prove decisive in the Battle of Puebla. Only a portion of the planned funds are committed to the Ironclad squadron, and plans for two sister ships are drawn up. However this sees lots of controversy within the Government and public alike. The plan to commit all of the planned funding does not pass and instead a compromise is made, Many see the expansion of the fleet unnecessary, especially when other areas are being completely neglected. A small military fort and accompanying settlement is established in the Congo. Domestically, few care for it and many more question the government's expenditures. Pennsylvania Commonwealth The ‘5 Year Plan’ is drawn up and put into effect Production of Spencer Carbines slows significantly. Several factories purchase more advanced machines and tooling. Overall the quality of the rifles improves, but they are delivered in even smaller numbers. The act to begin conscription is vetoed as quickly as it is proposed. However, partially copying New England, an act calling for fighting age men to register for a ‘draft’ should the nation need soldiers is passed. Additionally, more volunteers bolster the armies numbers after the occupation of DE, bringing the standing force to 75k. The government begins subsidization of paramilitary forces and militias. Many begin to spring up over the course of the year. Development of the Ironclad begins, several engineers and designers are recruited to design one. Though it is far from perfected, good progress is made. Many of its characteristics are blatantly copied from the Virginia Federal Empire of California The Organization effort begins. Military engineers and companies are contracted to expand the road network of the Empire. Additionally, a growing sense of professionalism and nationalism festers in the Imperial Army as they continue their training throughout the year. Steps are slowly taken to introduce ‘State-Capitalism’ though it is gradual. Many of the new state run institutions such as the “Californian Lumber Company” and many of the Southern Orchards see very immediate success. Public opinion of this program are quite low, especially among farmers, ranchers, and lumberjacks. The Envoy dispatched to Vancouver is mildly successful. The British Crown recognize the Empire’s claim to much of the former US’s western territories; however they do not seem willing to help enforce them. The French seem eager to worker more with the Empire. French-Californian relations are established in an embassy in San Franciso. Should California become more involved in the conflict the idea of ceding Baja California to the Empire is reasonable. Commonwealth of Massachusetts A staff of engineers and designers are recruited to begin work on the Ironclad. They make good progress, copying lots from both European designs and that of the Virginia. Good progress is made, but estimates suggest a working model won't be ready until next year. Plans for the manufacturing of Spencer Carbines are laid out and production begins late in the year. Many of the early models suffer from the same issues as PA’s. The rifles are expensive and complex compared to regular muskets and many are delivered in low quality due to improper tooling and machines. Federation of Connecticut and Rhode Island Much of the military’s ordered ordinance such as m1861s and 12 pounder Napoleons are successfully delivered to the troops. The growth of the private industry continues with the aid of Government subsidies. Uniforms and caps are delivered to the Army in good amounts. Every man has a uniform and cap. The call for another 30,000 men is largely unsuccessful, the peacetime army of 20,000 is largely considered to be more than sufficient at protecting the Federation’s interests. The act to register all men for selective service passes however. The development of the Ironclad begins. The Boy scouts are successfully founded, many of the troops get a large influx of membership. The 1st Connecticut Pioneer Regiment is successfully formed. The best and brightest of the regular army is transferred into the regiment. They begin arduous and extensive training. New York Cornelius Vanderbilt experiences lots of popularity on the campaign trail. During the elections he wins by a strong margin, making him the 1st official president (for life) of the state of New York. Of the Governments reached out to, only the Republic of Asbury and Kentucky adopt the American Dollar. Fort Jay, one of the last Federal holdouts surrenders in early December of 1862 after realizing the futility of their cause and the desperate lack of supplies. The New York military successfully occupied it following the surrender. The ships are ordered and expected to be finished by mid 1863. Many of the approached companies eagerly open more facilities within the state. Dominion of Maine The militias continue their regular trainings and subsequently improve. Men from the British Rifle Brigade are a great help. The prints are well accepted virtually everywhere, American public opinion of the state begins to improve. The Dominion even sees a minor influx in immigrants over 1862. The docks at Portland begin improvement, much is done during the later half of 1862, however construction isn't estimated to completely finish until the spring of 1863. Ohio Subsides to Ohio’s industry continue to flow, over the course of 1862 it sees major growth, continuing to maintain its position as one of the largest on the American continent. The additional 3 brigades of infantry are recruited, supplied, and trained. The continued expansion of the arsenals is successful more tooling and machines are purchased to help produce more sophisticated weaponry and additionally improve production of standard issue equipment. WAR is declared on Indiana ____________________________________________ As always, if you missed this modpost you can always do a year long post or pm me your actions

France 1919 ______________________________________________________________________________ Victory in the East! The war against the German traitors had been swift and brutal. Though only a couple months in length, the brave soldiers of the N.L.A dealt defeat after defeat against the Hun in their attempt to take retake Verdun. After the treaty of St Petersburg, the armies of the N.L.A march home victorious. To the east their enemies cowered before the triple Entente. In the west, the royalist traitors lost ground by the day. An end to the Civil War was finally in sight. ______________________________________________________________________________ The Aurora, 1919 Charles paced across the train car of the Aurora. Only a single light from the table lit the room. The table itself was cluttered with maps, papers, documents, everything. An empty bird cage sits on a second table, a sad reminder of his parakeet now far across the atlantic. Outside the window he could see the French countryside was covered in fog, nonetheless the silhouettes of buildings and trees raced by. Charles returned to his seat and glanced out the window. His thoughts fell upon many things. France was nearly whole again. The Germans had been repelled and to the west the Bonapartists lost ground by the day. The end was in sight. The Revolution had been a success.. So far. Charles glanced across one of the many maps, running his fingers across it. France was far from her former glory. Glory that would not be regained with a global revolution. For now, he kept his thoughts to himself. ______________________________________________________________________________ Dutch Flu What is being commonly called the Dutch Flu has torn across much of France affecting thousands. Soldiers on the front to the common citizen have felt the disease in one way or another. In order to curb the rapid spread of the disease and help to treat the sick a number of policies are enacted. Institutions like schools, churches, theatres, and dance halls are temporarily closed. Factory worker shifts are staggered in order to reduce rush hour commuter traffic. Those still working are provided with face masks to help limit the diseases spread. Furthermore, clinics and temporary hospitals are set up across the country in order to help treat and contain the sick. ______________________________________________________________________________ Demobilization With every passing day the war drew nearer to its close. Peace had been brokered with the Germans to the east. In the West, the Royalists lost ground with every passing day. However, millions were still in arms, conscripts or not, fighting for the Republic. The toll of the war upon the country was horrifying, the large armies made supply shortages constant and severe. To remedy this issue and push the nation back into a state of peace, large portions of the NLA are relieved from duty and sent back to their homes. The program aims to reduce the serving army to just three million men, nearly half of what is currently serving. ______________________________________________________________________________ N.L.A Reforms Being massively reduced in size, the N.L.A would find that much of the conscript army would be gone, leaving only their core units serving and deployed. GQG would implement a variety of reforms in order to assure the much smaller army would be better in every regard. As of now the N.L.A has several different helmets in service, British brodies and French Adrians leftover from the Great War were still widely used as well as Stahlhelms provided by Germany during the Civil War. This had the potential to cause confusion on the battlefield and it demonstrated a lack of professionalism in the N.L.A. GQG begins a plan to completely standardize this section of the common infantryman's kit. In January of 1919, a new design is adopted and put into mass production. The new helmet resembles a German stahlhelm, giving it excellent protection against shrapnel and debris. Additionally, the side sections are reduced in size, improving the soldiers hearing and lessening a major drawback of the Stahlhelm design. Furthermore, the design is simplified in certain regards, eliminating many of the manufacturing steps and lessening their cost. GQG has also begun a program to fundraise for a new program designed to ease life on the front and raise the morale of the remaining troops. The new drive, backed partially by the government and partially by civilian donations would purchase substantial amounts of luxury goods from domestic and international suppliers. These would include items such as cigarettes and chocolate. Furthermore, an order for a small amount of RSC 17 semi-automatic rifles are placed. This rifle, largely regarded to be ineffective and insufficient for trench warfare has recently caught the eye of Charles Faucheux, an influential figure on GQG. These rifles are ordered in very small amounts and are issued in even smaller amounts to every unit operating on the front. The plan is to have the rifles undergo a trial run, they will be given to whichever soldiers could best take advantage of their capabilities. The soldier/companies would file reports evaluating the effectiveness and/or what they did or did not like about the rifle. ______________________________________________________________________________ French Pioneer Corps One of GQG’s other reforms for the N.L.A is the creation of the French Pioneer Corps or the FPC. To avoid confusion the ‘Pioneer’ Battalions of the N.L.A are rebranded as Stormtroopers and ‘Pioneer’ tactics are changed to Stormtrooper tactics. The Corps will function as France’s primary military logistics and engineering authority. It will be responsible for the construction of military facilities, railways, and fortifications. Additionally, the Corps will act as a vital tool in the ensuing reconstruction of the country. Paris - December 15th Snow fell gently on Paris, a grey sky hung eerily above the city. It was not long ago when German machines of war occupied the space above the city of lights. Now only the occasional buzz of French planes filled the air. The snow crunched under Faucheux’s boots as he approached the stand. Though the Civil War still raged, elections soon approached and he begun to campaign. Behind him the French tricolor wove triumphantly in the wind, a large crowd gathered before the popular figure. He clears his throat before he begins his speech. “Brothers, sisters, countrymen. The people of France have been subject to hardship after hardship by enemies on all sides! Since 1914 you’ve fought valiantly against the enemies of France, whoever you may have perceived them to be. You’ve done more than any man such as myself could ever ask of you. Yet still, our nation is divided! Napoleon V continues a pointless war dooming thousands to death. So once more I call to Napoleon, I call out to the Frenchmen supporting him to the east and south! End. This. War. The titles of socialists, loyalists, and royalists are now fleeting objects of the past, We are none of those things, we are only French! Our constant state of civil war has done nothing but weaken our glorious nation and our weakness has begun to show! Once more our holdings have been infringed on by traitors to the east! The Italians have violated the treaty following the Great War and move to seize rightful French lands! Our countrymen in Corsica now besieged by the Italian menace. In Africa, they move to conquer brave and noble Frenchmen in the colony of Madagascar! I will not tolerate more vultures picking apart our glorious nation in our time of chaos. I call upon the National Assembly to address these matters at once!” - An excerpt from Faucheux’s speech ______________________________________________________________________________ Actions Steps are taken to limit the spread of and treat those affected by the Dutch Flu (see Dutch Flu) A demobilization program begins following the treaty of St. Petersburg. The army is reduced in size from 6 to 3 million A drive to completely standardize the N.L.A begins, this begins with the adoption of and beginning production of a new helmet (see N.L.A reforms) A trail run for the semi automatic RSC 17 is begun (see N.L.A reforms) GQG launches a partly funded by fundraisers program to provide the N.L.A with luxury goods such as chocolate and cigarettes (see N.L.A reforms) The French Pioneer Corps is established Rigorous trials and improvements of the new French tank model begins Elections are announced for May of 1920 Charles begins his political campaign running on a ‘unity’ platform calling for French reconciliation

1862 January-June ______________________ Events 1862 The Second French intervention in Mexico begins after Mexico’s failure to meet loan interest payments. It is supported by both Britain and Spain, on January 6, the invasion force lands in Veracruz Westminster Bridge opens in England, replacing the old one France acquires the territories of Bien Hoa, Gia Dinh, and Dinh Tuong from Vietnam The first all american ironclad debuts! In late June, the construction of the Virginia is completed. Boasting two smoke stacks, a large array of cannons, a ram, and a completely metal hull it is the first of its kind on the American continent! (the Virginia in drydock, mysteriously depicted with only a single smoke stack) ______________________ The Union of Concord The army begins to organize in rally throughout the union. As the early months conclude roughly 13,000 men have joined up. Pennsylvania Commonwealth The occupation of Delaware is swift and thorough. Though alike New York’s own invasion, is full of blunders, logistical issues, and leadership errors. As it becomes June, Delaware is completely occupied. Production of supplies continues. Spencer carbines however are still a rare commodity. They are produced in very small numbers of rather low quality due to the insufficient tooling and the expensive cost. New York A designer by the name of John Ericsson is contracted to begin development of the new Ironclad. Estimates show that by mid 1863 the vessel will be fully designed, constructed, tested, and become seaworthy. Vanderbilt’s campaigning continues, his fortunes help fund tours across the country. As the early months conclude he’s built a large platform. West point reopens, though the current cost of the NJ war and the funds directed to the fleet restricts much of its potential. Southern Union Garnering support for the confederacy within the British Empire begins. Though some success is achieved using King Cotton diplomacy, the British seem hesitant to invest themselves into what is arguably a very unstable region. The drive to entice Quebecers to resettle is largely unsuccessful. Though a few do opt to pack up and move to the Confederacy The expansion of the standard cotton company increases The pound is successfully adopted and put into circulation within the Confederacy IOWA A blockade on Arsenal island is imposed, it is met with a Federal denouncement. The initial railroad contracts are gradually completed by mid 1862, much earlier than expected. Commonwealth of Massachusetts The expansion of manufacturers continue The array of forts guarding the rail and supply lines are finished near the end of May The order of two ships of the line and three frigates are put in. By December they are expected to be completed. The creation of the Commonwealth Rangers is successful, though its largely regarded as a low priority organization. The delivery of level action rifles never arrives, either being too expensive or the order never being placed ____________________________________________ As always, if you missed this modpost you can always do a year long post or pm me your actions

France 1918 ______________________________________________________________________________ The Legacy of Napoléon “France once again, like the times of old, finds herself surrounded by barbaric European powers seeking to carve up her borders. The HUN to the east drives through France’s eastern fields while the FROG supports enemies of the Republic from within. But like the times of old, France will be victorious, for she is mighty, righteous, and her cause is just.” -An excerpt from Jean Jaures in his speech to the National Assembly In December, a new National Assembly convened in Paris. Former enemies now stood together in these sacred halls. Ministers from the 3rd and 4th Republic assembled to decide the future course of France. For the first time since the beginning of the 4th Republic, the tricolor, devoid of any socialist imagery, was hoisted above the assembly. It was symbolic to all, who understood the unity needed to bring about a French victory in this struggle against foreign tyranny. The mood of the assembly was grim. Republicans and Socialists were not on friendly terms. But there was a man they could all respect, who they came to hear. Jean Jaures. President Jaures took the floor in the midst of a tense silence. Both sides were scared of Germany, of each other, for the future of their children and for the future of France. It was in this atmosphere that Jaures began… “Allens! Enfants de la Patrie! Le jour de gloire est arrivé! …” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKtCVblxDRc The once silent hall took to the song of France. La Marseillaise. The silent halls now boomed with the song of hundreds of men dedicated to the cause of France. A tear fell down Jaures’ face as he concluded La Marseillaise, now holding the attention and devotion of the halls. Countrymen, above all we need to come together. We must deprive ourselves of titles like Loyalist, Socialist, Monarchist. We must remember that we are French, and that nothing takes precedence above that. I call upon Prince Napoléon to join me in the defense of France. If they should forsake this call, let it be known that they were content to abandon la Patrie to the German HUNS. They will be complicit in the terror upon our people waged against international law. From this day forward, we call ourselves France, with no political denotations, because that is what we are. We fly the flag of Napoléon I, and carry his revolutionary torch forward. Will we let the HUN gas our wives and our children in the streets of Paris? In Marseilles? In Lyon? “NO!”, booms the hall. We shall fight on to the bitter end, and we will win! VIVE LA FRANCE. The streets of Paris, amidst the dust, destruction, disease and bombing, erupted with spontaneous demonstrations of patriotic fervor. What happens to Paris happens to France. All across the country, news spread of Jaures’ speech and call for unity in the defense of France. How the French people react remains to be seen, but in the end the defense of France is the foremost duty of every Frenchman. ______________________________________________________________________________ The Bavarian Conspiracy A pamphlet begins to be circulated throughout various press lines. No one truly knows who fired the shot that killed Ludwig III, king of Bavaria, the shot that began the Great War. Many believed the French to be responsible, a lie, conjured by the Kaiser to keep the masses ignorant of his sins. French Intelligence has unveiled the greatest lie perpetrated in the modern century. A lie used to advance the imperialist agenda of the general staff and the Kaiser, to perpetrate a war of aggression, to tread on the sovereignty of millions, and a lie used to defame France. The German general staff created and funded the execution of the conspiracy to kill King Ludwig III of Bavaria. It's no secret that the OHL dictated King Ludwig’s agenda for the day he was sent to visit Alsace-Lorraine. It is clear given new revelations that they purposefully sent the king to Alsace-Lorraine so their terrorist group could carry out the assassination. The assassination gave cause for the OHL to have its war, and reason to curb the growing power of the democratic German reichstag in favor of its unrestricted abilities. King Ludwig was the perfect candidate. His dislike of the French, weariness of the west, and status as a possible opposition leader to the Kaiser made him the prime target for his conspiracy. The OHL was immediately prepared to act on this “French aggression” and had already mobilized its “defensive army”. Given these revelations, it is clear that Europe was swindled into war by the Germans at the loss of an innocent man’s life.

The 4th French Republic 1919 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgKazTrhXmI ______________________________________________________________________________ Traitors to the East! GQG, French High Command was embroiled in planning and commanding. Reports flooded in from all areas of the front. An assault repelled in one sector, an unsustainable defence in another. discussion flew back and forth among the general staff. Debates became heated, one man believed a course of action to be superior over another. This continued as at had since 1914 with the beginning of the Great War and even further into the birth of the Revolution. On yet another early morning, GQG once more gathered to discuss the operations of the N.L.A, and furthermore how victory in France could be achieved. That marked the day the Revolution was truly beset on all sides. A young attendant burst through the room, he held a single report gathered from the east. It read only four words “Les Allemands se mobilisent!” The Germans were mobilizing… Traitors.. Oathbreakers, the lot of them. An unprovoked act of aggression rang out from Germany. The 4th Republic had been nothing but receptive and cordial to the Germans. This is how they repaid their debts. Now, the Revolution was truly under siege. Beset on all sides, The Germans marshalled in the east after a vote in the Reichstag, to the west the Royalist traitors moved against the N.L.A., in the south the 3rd Republic stood ever defiant. There was no question, true freedom would be won with blood and iron. ______________________________________________________________________________ Beset on all sides “The invaders to the east are traitors.. oathbreakers! They will not rest until the glorious revolution has been completely destroyed! We will hold our ground Comrades! Resist the invaders! Death is preferable to existence under German hegemony! Give them nothing…” From intercoms across 4th Republic cities propaganda constantly calls out during the daylight hours. Citizens are educated on the horrors of German occupation and urged to take up arms and resist the German invaders at every step. Popular figureheads, including Chancellor Jean Jaures travel across the border regions delivering rallying speeches and insisting the Germans will be beat back as soon as they had come. On top of the increased propaganda efforts, large scale conscription begins. Injecting the N.L.A will fresh men for the inevitable struggle in the east. (Propaganda depicting the future of occupied France, citing the Rape of Belgium) (Another propaganda piece, dehumanizing the German traitors) ______________________________________________________________________________ Total War With a looming German declaration of war, a three front war was inevitable. The N.L.A at its current state would be hard pressed to defend the Republic on all fronts both in terms of supplies and men. As such the 4th Republic declares a state of total war. All production, logistics, and raw material assets at the Republic’s disposal are to be completely dedicated to the war effort. In addition to the complete restructuring of the French transportation and industrial sector a policy of stockpile is put into place. Rationing begins in major population centers and large sums of food and other non-military products are purchased from the international market. The following precautions are enacted in order to limit the effectiveness of a possible German blockade of 4th Republican ports. ______________________________________________________________________________ Ascension of the Grand Quartier General Panic spread quickly across the 4th Republic’s higher ups and government. More and more aspects of Government responsibility had been taken over by the Grand Quartier General, French Military Supreme Command. Now, the survival of the Revolution itself rested on the ability of the N.L.A to repel the invaders on all sides. In early July the question of emergency powers is put debate within the Government. Heated rhetoric flies across the room as the debate rages for hours, finally the decision to put it to the vote is reached. Hours of suspense followed, the very future of France lay in the balance. Finally the results arrive, with a narrow margin the act passed. GQG was granted emergency authority. Though not a desirable act, it was necessary to protect the revolution To the public, no vote had occurred. No newspapers or media sources so much as mentioned the topic. To the public, their glorious chancellor Jean Jaures still lead the government and championed the revolution. However the truth was far from it. The vote passed days earlier effectively elevated GQG into a position of unsurpassed authority. ______________________________________________________________________________ Actions The propaganda effort once more receives more attention, intercom systems are established throughout cities constantly educating the populace on the glories of the revolution and the realities of life under german rule Jean Jaures continues his tour Conscription efforts are ramped up, injecting the N.L.A ranks with fresh manpower A policy of total war is adopted. 100% of production, logistics, and raw resource assets are devoted to the war effort A policy of stockpile and rationing is put into effect in an attempt to lessen the effect of a naval blockade, at least initially. The Grand Quartier General is granted emergency authority, essentially transforming the Republic into a military junta; This topic is not made public. The [2nd Internationale] is urged to suspend all oil exports to Germany A personal pet of Charles Faucheux, a Carolina Parakeet named Philip is generously donated to the [United States]. He hopes Philip will be better cared for there Socialist and those who oppose who the warmongering Kaiser in Germany are urged to rise up and reclaim their homelands

The first issue of the Vatican’s newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano is published French and Imperial Chinese forces successfully defeat Taiping armies in the battle of Shanghai The Republic of Northern Mississippi is organized as a formal government with Jefferson Davis elected the first president. Tennessee officially announces their limited support for the people of Northern Mississippi. ______________________ The Federal Empire of California Construction of a Palace/Capital building in San Francisco is finished in late October Statements saying the Empire wished to uphold free trade is well received in Latin America. They reciprocate the goodwill by formally recognizing the Empire. Furthermore, the delegate dispatched to Hawaii returns reporting his success. Californian traders will have permission to dock in Hawaii. The Mexican government recognizes the Empire of California Oregon refuses to join the Imperial Federation, and denounces the government for so quickly turning on American ideals. The attempt to sway Utah and New Mexican settlements is largely unsuccessful Federal forces inside of Fort Bragg abandon the fort and march north into Utah. They plunder and steal from local settlements in their march north. Massachusetts Over the course of the year roughly 45,000 men are raised for the New Army, due to the new nation being under little threat few see the need to join up. Maintenance of railways and roads are ordered, but in the early months funds are tight, little can be done till the end of the year; however the transportation network is in a good condition. Construction of forts begin, however little progress is made. The loan is given to Connecticut The new defense budget is passed, construction of the manufacturers begins Land Ordinance is passed, though its effects will be limited. The area to feed all of Massachusetts simply does not exist. The Emancipation Proclamation is issued. Its popularity is limited, abolitionists rejoice, the more moderate citizens question the need for it some are even angry. The Monroe Doctrine is reaffirmed however European powers hardly take notice. Iowa Construction of railways connected to the main rail network in Illinois begins. However progress is slow. Estimates suggest it will finish towards the end of next spring with the injection of more funding. The Arsenal Island Garrison refuses, they still have a surplus of supplies and are determined to hold their positions. Illinois The proposal for free trade is sent to the Iowan, Indianan, Wisconsin, Minnesotan, and Michigan governments. The indianans are the first to reply, agreeing to it. [Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan] The officer training school is built, however its teaching staff are limited in their knowledge and experience, much less so in modern warfare. Several companies are contracted to produce uniforms, they begin arriving en masse. State run programs to provide employment for runaway slaves are initiated. Abolitionists rejoice, the more moderate and southern sympathizers are disappointed and outraged. Missouri denounces Illinois and their encouragement of runaway slaves The brigades and regiments are sent to the places. Construction of the forts begins, however they’re completely earthen fortifications. Republic of Arkansas The declaration of war is dispatched, the rebels in Northern Mississippi reply and send one of their own back. The supply train of ammunition and rice is dispatched to the Louisianan Army The 12th Militia Regiment is assembled, they begin their expedition westwards Construction of the University of Arkansas begins Pennsylvanian Commonwealth The Pennsylvanian Army is mobilized, moving to the border with Delaware. Delware responds denouncing the clear act of aggression and mobilizing their own army. As the year concludes, the factories are largely finished Efforts to gather the recruits for the army is largely unsuccessful. But the navy manages to find enough men to staff their current vessels as well as planned ones Delaware, completely aware of Pennylvanian mobilization rejects the offer Union of Concord Vermont accepts the request to join the Union of Concord A ship of the Line is commissioned, however no where near the sufficient amount of funds exist. The state militias slowly begin to merge, successfully unifying under the Union’s Army by the end of the year. The Bank of Concord is established, and the New England currency is adopted. Farming subsidies are issued. Commonwealth of Virginia The Commonwealth’s government slowly takes shape. However the attempts to let give colored folks the right to vote is immediately shut down, whoever suggested such a ludicrous idea is shunned. However the permission to let free blacks buy their family members out of slavery is given. The Federals in D.C refuse to pay reparations but an apology on behalf of the army who committed such atrocities is issued. The rebuilding of Harper’s ferry begins The public campaign to further justify a united Virginia is largely accepted. However using it to push for colored rights gains little traction. Anger for the federals in WV is widespread. The drive to recruit 10,000 West Virginians is successful. Farragut successfully accumulates his funding by the end of the year. Engineers hard at work since the beginning of the project present various designs. By next year construction of the vessel will begin A growing focus on Virginian industry spurs its growth, but its still meager in comparison to the behemoths in the north. New York On December 31st 1861 war is declared upon New Jersey The transition of the state to national government is smooth. The Act of 1861 passes, funds are allocated to the NYCL. The Rail network of NY slowly begins to expand as other companies are bought up and more tracks are laid. The Army’s call for another 75,000 volunteers picks up some steam. Another 15,000 men join up, raising the total manpower of the army to 100,000 men strong. The construction of new ships begins, however the government did not request what type of ships they’re asking for. The shipwrights mull around, scratching their heads. Confederacy of Southern States The expansion of Fort Jackson and Fort St. Philip begins. Guns from europe are purchased to meet the new requirements. At the same time, men are put to work repairing the damages from the sieges. The 40,000 men requested to put down the northern rebellion is met, though limited amounts of conscription is required. The British accept the offer, and the pound is officially adopted in the Confederacy The program to replenish the Tigers numbers meets some success, however their numbers are still lackluster. The Academy is founded, but construction for the expansive school will not finish until the spring of 1862 The Negro Labour corps is established. Slaves are donated or bought to fill their ranks. Judah P Benjamin is dispatched to London. The slave market reopens with the fall of Fort Jackson and the opening of the Mississippi. Hundreds of flesh labourers pour into the country and the Mississippi. Tennessee refuses to close markets to the Republic of Northern Mississippi. Maine The strong injection of subsidies into the fishing industry helps to spur its growth. New fisheries sprout up all across the Dominion, trade with the Empire also sees growth Lord Tennyson accepts the offer, he arrives late in the month and assumes his position. Other prominent scientists, historians, and artists are invited to the institution. Several opt to take the offer. The University sees their staff begin to flesh out as they begin to arrive. The militia reforms continue, though without more funding it will take time. ____________________________________________

The 4th French Republic 1918 ______________________________________________________________________________ Outrage in Bordeaux! Early in 1918 was finally when the 3rd Republican dogs finally came to their senses. A conference to negotiate a peace was hosted in Bordeaux, the now capital of the 3rd Republic. The 4th rejoiced at such an opportunity to finally end the fighting. However the conference they arrived at was far from civil. Even after hours of attempts to find common ground, the 3rd Republican officials opposed them at every turn, attempts of mediation and negotiation were for not. One of the delegates dispatched by the Fourth Republic, Andrien Jeannin reportledy wept when it became evident no resolution would reached and France would remain in flames. This was simply another offense to add to the list of 3rd Republican betrayals and atrocities. ______________________________________________________________________________ The Revolution Under Threat! (Chancellor Jean Jaures, delivers a speech in one of the previously war torn cities on his tour of the front) Following the recent victories and shortcomings of both the population and the N.L.A. Chancellor Jean Jaures decides to embark on a tour of the wartorn and frontline areas of the 4th Republic. Aboard Faucheux’s Aurora the Chancellor visits city after city, garrison after garrison speaking and re-invigorating the 4th Republic in the war effort. Behind him and aboard the Aurora aid to any man, woman, or child in need is given. On June 25th, hundreds gathered as Chancellor Jean Jaures began his speech. For hours he called to the masses, primarily speaking of the the recent Royalist Uprisings;“Not only does the fate of France hang in the balance my fellow countrymen, but now the fate of the revolution! Rise up my countrymen, take up arms! First the royalists will fall! first to Brittany and onwards to Bordeaux!” Jean Jaures proclaimed with thunderous applause. Across the 4th Republic this new narrative was distributed en masse. Revolutionaries preached in squares. Leaflets and posters dotted the walls of alleyways and streets. The chaos caused by Monarchist militant groups was far to great, and would never happen again. The Republic’s propaganda and indoctrination effort was ramped up ten fold. No longer were the citizens of the republic fighting and dying for France, but the entirety of the revolution. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. A defeat at the hand of the Royalist or 3rd Republic would spell oppression and certain destruction. Additionally, a call to all socialists or sympathizers living under the rule of the Royalist or 3rd Republican governments are urged to rise up or join the 4th Republics cause. ______________________________________________________________________________ Charles Faucheux, the Lion of Paris Paris was once more in chaos, underground monarchist and conservative cells attempted to rise up and seize the capital. Only the brave actions of the N.L.A garrison and brave partisan fighters prevented the capital’s fall. At their helm was Charles Faucheux; After the success of the spring offensive in the south he returned to Paris on leave. Shortly after his arrival Paris was once more thrown into chaos. Faucheux, the highest ranking officer in the vicinity was thrust into command. He gallantly took command of all available forces and began a ruthless series of counter offensives, destroying rebel cell one after another. Only scattered remnants now remain of the rebels and their hopeless position, beset by the N.L.A and Faucheux, the Lion of Paris. For his brave actions in Paris, the overall success of his IX Corp, and his contributions to the N.L.A. Faucheux was promoted personally by Chancellor Jaures to the rank of Brigadier General, and placed in command of N.L.A 1st Army. Across the city, Parisians hail him as the ‘Lion of Paris’ his deeds were printed far and wide across the Republic only adding to his popularity and branding him a National Hero. (A photo of Charles Faucheux) ______________________________________________________________________________ Founding of D.G.E.S Following the humiliating breach of national security, and the failure of the N.L.A to crush armed insurrection before it could begin; The 4th Republic passes several acts, designed to improve the internal security of the republic. The first of these is I Act of National Security, the act founds DGES, or the Directorate-General for External Security. The new organization would be an intelligence agency designed to regulate and improve the national security of the 4th Republic. It would be comprised of paramilitary and retired military personnel. The chosen director of the newly founded agency is Pierre Dupout. A former general of the N.L.A and commander of the 1st Army. Due to his aging condition he was placed into a position more fit for his skill sets while Faucheux assumes command of the 1st Army. Upon its creation, the DGES would immediately begin work. The training of agents began, as well as programs to begin insert informats all across France. ______________________________________________________________________________ Riots in the Industrial Sector Across the 4th Republic’s vast industrial sector riots had erupted in coordination with the rise of the Monarchists in the West. This was a problem that could not last, the 4th Republic immediately deploys available N.L.A reserves and police forces should the riots begin to escalate into full fledged rebellion. The companies and businesses in ownership of rioting institutions are ordered to immediately resolve the situation. Companies who disperse and root out such anti-revolution behavior most efficiently are rewarded with subsides. Those who fail will risk nationalization. ______________________________________________________________________________ Actions Chancellor Jean Jaures begins a large scale tour of the front and the country as a whole; he aims to raise morale of both civilians and soldiers. The socialist cause is rebranded not only as a fight for France but a fight for the world The propaganda effort on the Homefront is scaled up. Socialist and their sympathizers living under royalist and 3rd republic rule are urged to support the 4th Republic in any way possible Charles Faucheux, the Lion of Paris continues a ruthless campaign across Paris to destroy any remaining royalist resistance. He is also placed in command of 1st Army. The D.G.E.S, an intelligence agency is formed. They begin to grow their ranks and a program to install informants across France begins. Local police and paramilitary forces are deployed to prevent the escalation of industrial riots. Companies are ordered to get a handle on the situation, those that do it best are rewarded with subsidies. Development of the tank continues, the Government implores the designers for an estimate of when production can begin. Small scale conscription begins in order to bolster the ranks of the N.L.A A statement is issued to all nations in support of the 3rd republic. The bay of Biscay and the eastern Atlantic near it is declared a war zone; any shipping bound for the 3rd republic will not be spared. [Everyone]

1861 January-June _____________________ Arkansas As the dust from the previous years action, and the collapse of the U.S.A settles the institution of a new Arkansas national government is successful. Public support for the government is very high The decrees including the Segregation, Relations, and Army bill pass without issue. The institution of the National Army of Arkansas or N.A.A is passed as well as the mandatory conscription laws Commonwealth of Massachusetts The creation of and different matters of government pass through easily. Tariffs, taxation, an Army, and a Navy are all established. A census of seized federal ships in Massachusetts ports is executed. Every previously harboured ship has been seized. All federal arsenals/supply depots in the new nation are seized, federal troops still active desert or surrender realizing the futility of their cause. 30,000 volunteers are gathered, mainly from existing state militias Wisconsin The establishment of Wisconsin’s government is successful An overhaul of Wisconsin’s crop production is ordered, estimates project a beneficial increase in production in the following years. Wisconsin’s Army is successfully established with Lucius Fairchild at its head, new recruits begin arriving at Fort Howard. Training begins and the men are slowly molded into regulars. Maine The deal with the British Crown is finalized, Maine formally becomes the Dominion of Maine. Public reaction to such an event is mixed, many realize the necessity of an action. Others are enraged the government would be willing to rejoin the British Empire! The University of Maine is successfully announced, though the suggestion to allow women into the school is brushed aside. Major Vourne’s attempts to improve the state militias begin. However it will be long before his reforms become prevalent, the status of Maine’s various militias are not good. They are disorganized, incompetent, or just plain stupid. Virginia The Army of Virginia is formed, various officers are assigned to their positions building the chain of command. Training begins but it will be long before the men become a proficient fighting force. Admiral Farragut begins his campaign to raise $2.5 million. It begins with a rocky start as they project is deemed ‘unnecessary’ at the moment. The Government has other priorities regarding establishment. Decision to grant West Virginia increased autonomy is passed. Washington accepts the deal The trade pact is formed Pennsylvania Construction on a series of state-owned factories across Pennsylvania begin, by the turn of the year they will be capable of churning out war material Previously Union held arsenals are seized without so much as a shot fired The establishment of a military incorporating local militias is successful The drive to recruit 45k men is largely successful, with the aid of the local militias the military receives all requested recruits. Minnesota Tariffs targeting agricultural and lumber products are passed, much to the approval of many local farmers and lumberers. The Canadian government refers the Minnesotan delegation to London, there they explain their willingness to allow Minnesota to adopt the British Pound but they will not allow them to peg the Minnesotan dollar on it The ‘Manhunters’ are dispatched to the old world, though it will be many months before they return with any notable of men. Native lands are seized, and tribes are forced into reservations. There is widespread anger among the natives. The volunteer army is raised successfully. The bill requiring the eldest of every household to keep a firearm is passed, now the legislature can only hope it is obeyed. Republic of Louisiana Act I, V, are VI, are passed successfully The establishment of an official government across Louisiana is successful The proposal of a government between Mississippi and Louisiana is sent. After a close vote in the Mississippi legislature, it is accepted. The two nations now become one under a central government situated in Louisiana's capital. Though much to the dismay of upper Mississippi Training for the Thugs of Baton Rouge begin. Beauregard recognizes the men’s dedication and ferocity in battle. However they are unruly and disorganized it will be long before they are organized into a proper fighting force. The census of warships seized by Louisiana is more than impressive. Under a stroke of luck, two frigates, the U.S.S Santee and U.S.S Sabine are both seized in addition to the the U.S.S John Adams, Vandalia, and Constellation. Iowa Chicago & Northwest Railroad continues its work with Kirkwood’s urging, however a vast amount of originally dedicated resources are pulled out and work grinds to a halt. Kirkwood’s assumes control of Federal assets in Iowa, save for the garrison at Arsenal Island where a Federal garrison still holds firm. A recruitment campaign for the newly established Iowan Military is launched, roughly 7,000 men sign up as the early months conclude. Ohio The free trade pact is established The Ohio Army is successfully established. Defecting remnants of the Union army help to train the men, slowly molding them into an effective fighting force. The army is initially strained on several items such as uniforms and cannons; however sufficient reserves of Manpower, Springfield M1842s, and Sharps rifles exist. National Ohio Gold Reserve & Treasury Department is successfully established. Seized Federal arsenals continue their construction of ordinance to supply Ohio’s new army Connecticut Funds to commission two new frigates are nowhere to be found, with many initial government expenses. The establishment of a national army is successful, as the early months conclude 20,000 men are collected and basic training begins. The Connecticut National Bank is successfully established Several State-owned manufacturing plants are commissioned successfully, however estimates suggest they won’t be fully operational till next year. Subsidizes are directed towards farmers and production is projected to improve. however Connecticut is small, and it's unlikely to become self sufficient in regards to food products. Illinois The Army of Illinois is successfully established, as the early months conclude the projected goal of 40,000 volunteers is reached and the men begin training. Uniforms are notably in short supply The various federal camps and garrisons across the state have either been abandoned, killed by militiamen, or have defected to the state government. No trace of federal military presence remains in Illinois The diplomat arrives in Washington D.C The Illinois dollar is successfully put into circulation Subsidizes to the agricultural and industrial fields are promised, though many don't get paid due to the lack of funds. However several factories successfully switch production to begin outfitting Illinois’s army Texas Efforts encouraging workers and companies are largely unsuccessful. Texas was a far western state, and many investors believed such a venture would be risky. The Newly established Texan Military begins gathering volunteers. As the early months conclude 2,500 men have signed up and begun training. A census of Naval and military assets are run. Sufficient amounts of military equipment such as cannons and firearms are acquired; However no federal vessels have been seized. The federal armory in San Antonio is successfully seized. New York The State government, now national government assumes control over the state The seizure of naval assets across NY is a success. Militias storm the various yards and all docked federal warships are commandeered. In the confusion, the order to ignore the ships of various states are ignored. Vessels from Virginia, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Louisiana are all taken Tariffs on non-american nations are placed Federal forts and arsenals across NY are seized by the militia except for Fort Jay which remains ever defiant. 75,000 volunteers are successfully raised, they depart for West Point where they begin training. New Jersey rejects the offer ____________________________________________ Events 1860 Devastation in Virginia! Trouble had been brewing in the former U.S. state of Virginia since the collapse of the Union in 1860. Federal garrisons and loyalists across the newly independent state had amassed in the town of Harper’s Ferry, well over 10,000 federal troops now held the city, being unable to reach the capital in Washington D.C. This was a constant cause of tension between the federal remnants and the newly established Virginian government. In February of 1861, an offer from the Virginians arrived which would provide safe passage of the garrison back to D.C. It was hastily accepted. The tension between the Federals and Virginia seemed at an end. May 20th, 1861, early in the morning the Federal garrison prepares its exodus. The town had been completely sapped of resources but that didn't stop the federals. Everything that wasn't nailed to the ground was uprooted and hauled east, at least that was the plan. As mid morning arrived, an explosion sounded across Harper’s ferry, the explosion was soon accompanied by a fire and another explosion sure enough followed. A panic set into the garrison, many believed it to be a Virginian attack, but the enemy was nowhere in sight! Federal units fled from the site as fast as possible, abandoning much of their equipment. This was not to be the end of the incident, confused and disoriented junior federal officers, now placed into a position of command and under the assumption they were under attack ordered the complete destruction of any Virginian asset on their march back to Washington. Over the course of the next 3 days, fields, villages and homes were put to the torch as fragmented and confused federals marched back to the capital. The Virginian Government has yet to release an official response to the incident. The Battle of Fort St. Philip Following Louisiana's capture of New Orleans, Federal forces and sympathizers left in the state were forced to withdraw further south into Fort St. Philip and Fort Jackson. To the Louisiana government two federal held forts at the mouth of the Mississippi was unacceptable. In mid April, P.G.T Beauregard was ordered to seize the smaller of the two, Fort St. Philip. Louisiana’s newly established army after undergoing several weeks of endless training and drilling as well as the acquisition of additional supplies marched south. The 12,000 man strong army under General P.G.T Beauregard approached the fort definitely with an array of cannons in tow. The federals, outnumbered and demoralized opted to hold their ground inside the fort. Several cannons were re-positioned, to confront the attackers but they were still outgunned nonetheless. At 1:00 am on the 17th of May, the battle commenced. “The fort and the federal scum behind its walls will be consumed in a ring of fire!” remarked Beauregard as the first cannons fired. Gunboats from the Mississippi took full advantage of the absent river side cannons. Fort St. Philip was beset from all side. Outer defenses crumbled under the intensity of Beauregard’s bombardment, as did the fort itself. As the bombardment on the fort raged, the targeting of the outer defenses ceased. From the sea wall, the famous Louisiana Tigers emerged. Under federal fire they charged the outer defenses, intense and bloody bayonet fighting ensued. The fight, though intense was over as soon as it had begun. The battered and starving defenders were forced from their positions after suffering heavy casualties. The federals were now completely trapped. For hours now the artillery barrage had pounded the walls of the fort, causing moderate to heavy damage. Suddenly it ceased as the final assault on the fort began. From across the entirety of the sea wall, the men who had previously stormed New Orleans emerged. Under federal fire they charged the fort, the Louisiana tigers emerged from their recently taken positions and assaulted St. Philip from the rear. For a moment it almost seemed as if the federal defenses would repel the attackers, but it would not come to fruition. For half an hour Beauregard’s army assaulted the fortress until every last federal soldier had either been killed or surrendered. The sun rose on a now Louisianan held fort. Rebellion in Northern Mississippi! After the vote agreeing to join under the Louisianan government, upper Mississippi was in outrage! The secessionist movement still held a tight grip on individuals across the state. Many believed the state would fare far better on its own or simply refused to be ruled from another capital, miles from their homestead. Only days after the new union was solidified, upper Mississippi declared independence! Though no major militant action has been taken by either side, the rebel army has systematically seized arsenals and supply depots across rebel territory as well as begun rallying men from across the state to their cause. Jefferson Davis is rumored to be at the head of the rebellion (If you missed this Mod Post, you may either PM me actions or encompass a full year in your next post)

The 4th French Republic 1917 ______________________________________________________________________________ The IX Corps Charles Faucheux, a man of growing popularity and ingenuity. He had been present during the fall of Paris and the birth of the revolution. In late May, NLA command had made the decision to promote him to a position of Lieutenant General and place the IX ‘Pioneer’ Corps under his command. This was mostly a political decision, Charles had spent the last year since the fall of Paris touring the country, growing in popularity. Not giving him a position in the war effort would have politics backlash. Now it seems (High Command)’s decision has begun to pay off. Upon his promotion, Faucheux began a rigorous examination of the Corp’s previous engagements. Comprised of veteran combat engineers some of whom even saw service in the Great War. The Corp had experience fighting both German and Loyalist foes, their use of improvised close quarters fighting, especially on the defensive to launch quick counter attacks was of great interest. Here, the beginnings of ‘Pioneer Tactics’ began to take shape. Over the course of the next months Faucheux would launch exercises to train the men in the beginnings of a new powerful offensive doctrine that could end the stalemates of the war. ______________________________________________________________________________ Besancon, Late 1917 Fighting raged all around the man, explosions erupted, splintering fortifications and sending his comrades flying. Maxim guns chattered, cutting down men on both sides like blades of grass. Suddenly he heard it, the familiar rumbling. From the dust and the smoke he sees them, Tanks, lumbering beasts rolling across the fortifications. The man, a student of engineering himself had theorized how these awful machines of war might work since their first appearance. At least they were on his side then.. The tanks were drawing closer, some had been knocked out but they had to be stopped. He acted, quickly he produced the device he had conceived earlier for such a situation. As the tank drew nearer, he lit the rag and tossed the bottle. It lands perfectly on the grille of the tank, It continued forward for a few brief seconds before the engine sputtered and died. The device had worked. ______________________________________________________________________________ Supreme Army Command 1917, a mixed bag of a year, though after the debut of ‘Pioneer tactics’ and tremendous gains in the north been it had been ruled general a success. However many issues plagued the French general staff. In the later months of the year, Republicans had been successful in small attacks on Riem, targeting the industry of the area. This alone threatened a majority of the Socialist heartlands, something had to be done. In the south, the Republicans had taken minor gains, besieging the city of Besancon, this was also an issue that had to be resolved. (Pioneers from the IX ‘Vulcan’ Corps go over the top) Further evaluations of the year had made several estimations. First, it was believed that the 4th French Republic lacked parity with their Republican counterparts in regards to both the armor and aviation departments. This made the Republic extremely vulnerable to Republican reconnaissance and bombing runs. In response to the latter of these issues, the French Government commissions the construction of numerous AA batteries. Due to the lack of proper Anti-Aircraft equipment, the batteries will use balloons with attached to cables to measure altitude beforehand. (French 75mm AA gun not far from Paris) Additionally, the French government begins several competitions, a multitude of French companies are offered a large contract if they can develop a suitable armored vehicle for the N.L.A. Several criteria must be met however. The vehicle must not exceed 8 tons, have a power/weight ratio of 5hp/ton, be able to stand up to small-heavy arms fire, and fit a single 360 degree rotating turret that can carry a machine gun or heavier 37mm cannon. The second contract pertains to aircraft. The need to control the airspaces over the republic is a priority. A contract is offered to any company that can produce a new design of faster and more nimble fighters designed for short range defensive operations. ______________________________________________________________________________ The National Liberation Army The offensives of 1917 had seen major socialist gains as well as minor losses in the east. That's what the propaganda said at least. Socialist population centres were well informed of the army’s success, and encouraged to join up and support the revolution. As action on the front slows down in the wake of both the offensives and the onset of winter, Engineer battalions get right to work; they repair vital infrastructure needed for supplying the front lines and oversee the construction of new, layered defensive lines. ______________________________________________________________________________ The Olive Branch The war has raged for now 4 grueling years. The country of France has gained nothing but death and destruction. After the overwhelming success of the summer offensive. The 4th Republic, the more legitimate of the two once more extends the olive branch to the Republicans. A meeting to discuss to possibility of peace at Verdun is suggested. It is made well known to both the Republican troops and the Republican homefront that the 4th Republic is open to the possibility of peace, an end to the fighting, the bleeding, the dying. ______________________________________________________________________________ Actions New ‘Pioneer’ tactics are introduced into the army, most prevalently in the IX ‘Vulcan’ Corps. Small amounts of officers from the rest of the NLA trained as instructors so they can form other Pioneer battalions throughout the rest of the army. Printed instructions for the construction and use of ‘Poincaire Cocktail’ is distributed throughout the NLA. AA batteries are commissioned in key industrial areas to deter Republican bombing. Contracts for the design and production of an armored fighting vehicle or ‘tank’ as well as a contract for the design and production of lighter, faster, and shorter range fighter is offered to any French company. Massive efforts are undertaken to improve the N.L.A’s supply lines in conquered areas as well as improve their defenses with layered lines. An offer to discuss peace is extended to the 3rd French Republic in Verdun. In addition, pamphlets and leaflets are spread across the 3rd Republic making the civilians well aware of this offer.

The Disunited States of America January 1861 ___________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________ The first year of dissolution has dawned on the American continent. The United States was no more. However it’s successor states were by no means organized. A scramble to assume previously federal assets had ensued, though largely successful, the individual states were far from organized; And no state govern had a true understanding of their actual military assets. Bands of regional militias were all they had at their disposal for now. In the states, all sorts of tensions brew. A southern trade war over the cotton industry seems imminent. Garrisons and forts still loyal to the federals remain scattered across the country, determined to hold their ground. Local economies are in upheaval, raw resources, food, or manufactured goods that easily traversed the Union never arrive. The stage is set ------------------------------ Turns will be 6 months long Posts are expected to be decent in size, a couple paragraphs minimum however if they must be shorter due to time constraints and the like that is permissible. Please always include an ‘actions’ section that summarizes all your key actions for the turn as it makes it much easier for me. Applications will continue to be accepted. Have fun ?

The Disunited States of America The Prelude 1860 ___________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________ Dissolution 1860, a year that will go down as one of the most significant in history; The final year of the great American experiment. Tensions for decades have been rising now. The “Band-Aids” congress put over the open wound of slavery were insufficient. With every new territory the debate was risen again. How long could it go on for? Almost a hundred years is the answer. Leading up to 1860 the south was in almost open revolt. At odds with each other, and the Union as a whole, there was major discontentment. Slave states saw their very way of life being infringed upon. Wealthy aristocrats strove to maintain power over the inferior white and black neighbors. Cotton was booming. The northern states for their part was not a unified utopia. Conflicting business, political, and foreign ideas were leading to clashes. Many simply could not agree. Immigrants flooded the north, forming their own communities and power blocs. Though heavily industrialized and populous, the North was led by cronies and congressional snakes. Policy was geared towards profit, and the Federals were on everyone’s front porch. It all came to a climax in the elections of ‘60. It was a four way run, with various parties involved. The Southern Democrat, Republican, Northern Democrat, and Constitutional Union parties all had candidates. It boiled down to two. Lincoln, and Breckenridge. In the end though it was clear Lincoln would win. This lead to nation breaking machinations… South Carolina was the first to secede Mississippi and the rest of the deep south soon followed. What began was a domino effect, The upper south came next. Virgina, North Carolina, Tennessee, one by one, secession after secession the ‘United’ States slowly collapsed. New York was the first of the Northern states to secede, Ohio came next. In the confusion a New English offer of annexation towards Canada was discovered. As 1860 became 1861 the Union had completely disintegrated in all but the once capital and small forts scattered across the once nation. The United States was no more The Fallout Following the collapse of the United States of America, a major power vacuum was left in its wake. The Federal Armies had evaporated, desertion and defection had set in. Only small bastions of the Federal government remained most notably in scattered forts, arsenals, and Washington D.C. itself. The government of the newly independent states resembled the former nation in one form or another. The vast majority simply kept to their governments, state governments now in power. State militias became the sole military units at the states disposal The tensions of the pre-collapse period remain ever prevalent. The abolitionist movement continues its growth in the free northern states. In the south, african-americans remain in shackles. The massive cotton industry is now fractured, as a trade war of massive proportions brews in the deep south. The North is no stranger to the tensions gripping the continent either. The offer of the upper New English states to join the British Empire has not gone forgotten. A massive conflict between the newly independent states of America is almost bound to occur in one form or another. OOC This FRP will begin in a historical manner with a start date of January 1st, 1861. The Governments, administrations, and leadership (both domestic and militarily) of the individual states will remain the same as they are in our timeline. As the game progresses, and history takes an alternate course, introduction of custom/special characters will be allowed. Alliances, Unions, and confederacies will be permitted within reason. Any U.S. State pictured on the map above is available Application Discord Name; Desired State; History of said State’s history, leadership, and government; Nominal Leader/President/Governor/etc.; Do you want a Custom Character? If so what’s their name and background? (Can only start in low level positions of power);

16 BBY (Early Months) ______________________________ Events: The cities of Keigh, Acresa, Evodon, Phaross, and Argowell announce the formation of the 5th Edichi Republic. The capital is situated in Evodon, all assets of the cities have been combined. The 5th Edichi Republic openly denounces Imperial aggression and demands the old capital be ceded to the rightful Edichi government. brief, sudden, and mysterious surges of communication are detected between the stations in orbit. The Final Holdout Refurbishments and repairs on the droid production lines, massively helped with Edichi funds and manpower finish a couple months into the year. By the time the early months conclude they are operational and producing vast sums of units. However the heavier equipment requires larger and more sophisticated machinery to produce (+ 1500 B1 battledroids, +130 b2 battledroids) The deal with the southern city is finalized, Edichi forces move in to occupy the once imperial held city and the Confederacy is once more brought into existence. Fortification of the Capital (which you should probably name) begins, Confederate citizens are enlisted to work on the project. As the early months conclude, a decently sized array of defensive positions, earthen works, gun batteries, as well as other things are finished. Making invasions of the island.. difficult. The First Division Both Onega Industries and Titan Drive Yards refuse the offer to work with the First Division. They had been badly defeated and completely expelled from the surface, a shaking investment at best. Much of the leadership within the remnant is unstable, the threat of a mutiny seems very possible. Imperial Loyalist Centre The hearts and mind program meets limited success. The locals are rather hesitant to trust Imperial Propaganda much less so after news of Edichi assets being seized in the north filter through. Still, some decide to sign up. (+100 raw recruits) Phase Two begins, Mwhahahaaha Beasts of Zillo A very.. reputable man is found. He can serve Mark’s purposes rather well. Clan Odall Efforts to improve public opinion seem to go rather well, Mandalorian soldiers are routinely found assisting locals with whatever they might need. Many smaller and more local businesses seem willing to work with the Mandalorians Repair of Dral’s ship is complete 203rd Attack Battalion The ARc Trooper program continues, the most competent men around are assigned to the Job. As the early months draw to a close, a healthy contingent of ARC troopers are ready for action (+60 ARC troopers) Training drives for the raw recruits begin, again, as the early months draw to a close they largely become pseudo clone troopers and are ready for action! (+200 Ersatz Clone Troopers) Recruitment picks up some steam, however support for the armed forces in peacetime is rather lackluster. (+100 recruits) Negotiations for a full republic take over is negotiated intensely throughout the year. Many support this decision, a smaller portion oppose it. Public support is rather high however, during the Clone Wars the republic was nothing but gracious to the populace. As the early months draw to a close, a deal is finalized and the Republic is brought back into existence equipped with a senate, chancellor, and all the other fun things. All previously Edichi held assets in the city are transferred to the Republic (+2000 LDF Troopers, +20 AT-LEs, +5 MR-PCs, +30 Xiphos Class fighters) (+4 Paleon class corvettes) The Contract with Ethos manufacturing is finalized after the full takeover, adapting production lines begins, as the early months conclude a large fleet of somewhat finished starfighters are being finalized 82nd Dread Battalion Investigation of the facility finds little of use, only a peculiar object. It’s quite large and inscribed with markings. Evidence suggest its a power generator of sorts, but not one the clones have ever seen. What’s left of the Battalion rendezvous with the 104th across the planet Imperial Legion The remaining stormtroopers undergo more.. Intensive simulations to refine their skills. Tarus resumes his training The armor is commissioned, as the early months conclude the remaining stormtroopers are outfitted with their new gear. The Edichi Task Force The companies do not take kindly to such blatant Imperial threats. Many assets are evacuated from Imperial territory successfully. However many are not, and are seized by the Task Force The monorail begins construction, estimates suggest it will finish within the year Another recruitment drive is launched, recent events (Imperialism to the East, seizing Corporate assets) seem to hurt public opinion and it turns out to be rather ineffective. 104th Battalion Drogo starts his training, hes absent for many of the months, off in the forest refining his skills. Mining operations continue with improved efficiency due to the influx of new equipment. Excess materials are sold off to manufacturer's, bringing in a pretty profit for the battalion. The cities defenses are expanded as the local guard force receives supplemental training from higher ranking clones. Preparations for a new factory are made, mining profits are used to purchase a suitable section of the city. Existing buildings are cleared and required materials are ordered. The recruitment drive picks up some steam, through many support the republic, few are obliged to fight for it especially in peacetime. -

17 BBY (Later Months) ______________________________ Another sunny day in the void The Final Holdout The Edichi in prosperity rather reluctantly pay their taxes. The recruitment drive is rather unsuccessful. “Why would the Separatists need need to recruit organics when they’ve already taken our money for droids?” The training of the officers goes rather well, after being subject to a several month long instructional course they are ready for action. However all but a few of the officers lack actual battlefield experience let alone experience with a robotic army. (+80 Officers) Production is shifted to exclusively B2 battle droids. Supplemented by Edichi funds and material it begins with haste. Though the separatists soon figure out much of the factories machinery is in dire need of repair or replacement. Nonetheless a small portion of the requisitioned units are produced. (+60 B2 Battledroids) The nearby city flat out rejects the Separatists terms. Scouting runs indicate this city is much better armed and much more militaristic. Mining operations are attempted though no large ships are available to transport large amounts of material. The operation is largely considered a failure. Imperial Loyalist Centre The hearts and mind program meets limited success. The locals are rather hesitant to trust Imperial Propaganda much less join the armed forces. Still, some decide to sign up. (+200 raw recruits) Taxation of the two cities begins, public lashback is large to say the least. Both the people and the Local government protest this action. The SCAR program is launched, though there seems to be quite the scarcity of adequate candidates. (+30 SCAR recruits) Both Titan and Monolith Drive Yards decline the offer to work for the Imperials, Onega, initially accepting soon follows suit and backs out of the deal. The task force sent to subdue the northern city is forced to retreat. A rather large Local ground defence force and star fighter core staunchly refuses. The city will not be won without blood. Beasts of Zillo The mission has an… unexpected outcome (Event 1) Attempts to organize the pirates sees little success No opportunities for crime seem available Several contacts have been established in the black market (PMS) Clan Odall No companies seem willing to do business with clan Odall Efforts to improve relations with the locals meet some success. They don’t want the mandalorians dead as much as they did before. Warehouses are scavenged, one of the men report a curious find (PMs) Improvement of the bases defenses continue as planned. As the year concludes the camp is much more operable than before, most of the men believe the fortifications are sufficient. 203rd Attack Battalion Recruitment drives continue, it begins to pick up some steam, though the population is still not particularly motivated to join the G.A.R. (+100 Raw Recruits) The local leader is eager to talk with Attre, he seems to be very pro-republic as opposed to CIS or Imperial leaning. He explains the rather militarized nature of the surrounding cities as well as their previously CIS leaning behaviors. A local branch of Ethos manufacturing sympathetic to the Battalion’s cause shows interest in a contract to produce fighters, however they won't do it for free. Standardized training and the ARC trooper programs begin, success is limited in both fields due to the lack of proper instructors. However potential in the ARC program especially is great. The construction of the mountain headquarters continues, as the year finishes several defensive lines fitted with a multitude of defensive measures is completed. Burrowing deeper into the mountain however is a different story, still lacking heavy equipment, many of the facilities are temporarily built in above ground structures. 82nd Dread Battalion 30 clones is nowhere near enough to forcibly occupy the settlement, especially not after recent events. They’re forced to return to base Communications go through The ‘Compound’ seems to be a very old military facility, nothing of particular value is found, perhaps it will require more investigation There is outrage at the bombardment of Phaross, local fighters scramble as it rages on. Though its not known for sure who was responsible there’s a good chance the locals suspect the Clones. On a side note, many clone troopers protest the action feeling it violates their original mission. Mining operations continue un-opposed. Imperial Legion Drive companies, politely refuse to request to work with the legion Taxation begins, the heavy military presences brings local unrest to a minimum The scouts report nothing of note, except for that Phaross is pissed off, but at who? The Edichi Task Force Local elections begin, public feedback is rather good, but overall opinion of the Imperials still remains indifferent to unsavory. Industrialization programs continue, no major company shows any interest in voluntarily working for the Imperials. Perhaps they will have to be persauded? The recruitment drive picks up some steam, nothing significant however. Pensions do prompt many to join, but it certainly isnt out of love for the Empire. (+200 recruits) The foothill city remains un moving, they will not surrender. They threaten to make the incident international should the Imperials continue to demand their surrender. Reports from the Victory class cruiser suggest roughly 4500 staunch defenders hold the city. They have established the beginnings of a defensive network in addition to several heavy gun batteries. Mining equipment is purchased, however the IMC is unable to head to the deposits due to the hostility in the region. A production line for TIE fighters is drawn up, estimates suggest that within a year it will be operational and producing fighters. Guardians of the Voice Rumors begin to circulate across Edichi of the Guardian’s resurgence. Many seem very pleased/excited upon hearing this news. For too long Edichi has been run by foreign and autocratic powers. Though not much progress for a jammer is made, it seems very likely that the rather large black market in Andwell would sell such devices. The recruitment of informats and sympathetic peoples begins. Though no notable connections with any levels of government are established. A rather large and very unreliable web of informats slowly begins to take shape across Edichi The Guardian’s influence slowly begins to creep into the designated cities, unbeknownst to the governments. Though nothing more than a handful of informats and loyalists for now. 104th Battalion Mining equipment is purchased, however the meager funds are beginning to run short there will certainly be no large purchases in the future. A line of communication with the city is opened up The defenses around the camp are shored up, the Clone battalion continues its efforts to dig in. Multiple buildingspots within the base are suitable for larger industry, however the trees and megafauna will have to be cleared. Contact is made with the company, however funds are severely lacking, they will have to be bartered with. Or perhaps convinced. Clan Ordo (best for last???) The men are sent off to Andwell, they come back with some interesting news regarding the local criminal syndicates (PMs) Designs for a possible variant of the standard FIghter/Transport begin, several Edichi scientists are eager to lend their efforts on the condition the fighter would be the first craft to implement their new experimental shielding system. More small facilities are set up to help in the production of aircraft. As the year concludes 3 new fighters are ready, however their quality in relation to the standard fighters are questionable (+3 Ersatz Kom’rk Class fighers) Fortification efforts of the main base continue The mandalorians are dispatched to work with the Loyalist Centre on the SCAR program. -
The 4th French Republic 1916 ______________________________________________________________________________ Siege of Paris, June 6th, 1916 The sound of artillery filled the air machine guns chattered and men cried out as the battle raged in the outskirts of Paris. The trap had already been sprung, revolutionary forces fiercely battled with Loyalist and BEF troops across the city. Charles’ regiment had made good progress, Loyalist troops were surrounded everywhere, the city would soon fall. “Continue the drive north east, we must link up with Germans. The republicans are routing in droves. It shouldn't be long until the city is ours.” Charles ordered, the men were quickly notified and the offensive continued. Fighting continued, every street, building, and room was pried from the hands of the defenders. Some fought fiercely, the smart ones threw down their arms and surrendered. Finally, the Germans were spotted. Charles’ men, clad in red cheered as the Germans entered the city proper. The day would be theirs! ______________________________________________________________________________ The Fourth Republic The establishment of the Fourth French Republic was a great step forward for the 2nd Internationale, but the job was not finished. Only a token portion of France fell under the control of the republic, this most certainly would not do. Every portion of France would be liberated from the tyranny of the Republican Government. Following the victory at Paris, and the establishment of the Fourth Republic, Jean Jaures a prominent socialist politician, a popular figurehead, and a staunch anti-war supporter was unanimously named head of state. Not long after his rise to power Jean named Paris a global seat of the 2nd Internationale, and promised an end to the war under the new regime. (Head of State, Jean Jaures) Spirits were high among the army and citizens alike. The Fourth Republic was no doubt the more legitimate of the two states. It had a message, a reason, and a will to continue fighting. The loyalists were shattered. The capital of Paris lay in revolutionary control, Verdun encircled and lost to the Germans. The revolutionary government had secured a treaty with the Central powers, a far more lenient one that would have taken place under the old government. Propaganda posters become common place, an effort to consolidate power is launched as well as one to win over the hearts and minds of those within and outside the French Republic. Leaflets dropped from German planes urge Republicans and Loyalists to lay down their arms. Under the new regime there will be peace, prosperity, and bread for all, Verdun has fallen, Paris has fallen, there is no use fighting. (Propaganda urging Loyalist forces to end the bloodshed and join the NLA) ______________________________________________________________________________ Cogs of Industry The core of pre-war French coal and steel industry lay in the north east, the border regions, the areas under revolutionary control. In the previous years, it had been ravaged by war and destruction, something had to be done if the revolution is to survive. Jean Jaures and the newly established government order the immediate re establishment of the industry. Any factory is commissioned to dedicate itself to the production of arms and war material. ______________________________________________________________________________ Armée de Libération Nationale The Armée de Libération Nationale or the National Liberation Army was founded upon the birth of the Republic. Consisting of a moderate core of well-trained previously Republic aligned soldiers and a moderately sized chunk of foreign, the National Liberation Army gets right to work supplementing their ranks. A massive drive is launched, irregulars are given basic training by the more seasoned officers. Large recruitment drives are launched, playing off of recent Republican failures, and Revolutionary victories. (French soldiers, shortly after defecting from Republican forces) In addition, the higher ups of Revolutionary command realize the necessity of consolidating their gains. Huge defensive projects begin in key locations along the front in order to repel possible Republican counter attacks. ______________________________________________________________________________ The French Countryside, 1916 The NLA Aurora, one of the Fourth Republic’s only armored trains steamed across France, away from Paris. The Aurora was by no means the most modern of armored trains, but it served its purpose well. Equipped with an array of machine guns, a printing press, a telegraph station, and of course the flag of the Fourth Republic the Aurora was outfitted to rally men to the fight where ever it traveled. Over the course of the later months of 1916, Charles Faucheux and the Aurora choo choo across the the 4th Republic in an effort to win the people over and solidify Charles as a public figure head, a voice of the revolution. The poor and wounded are helped wherever they may be found and Charles delivers rousing speeches. Propaganda spews from the train, urging the people to fight to cement the revolution. ______________________________________________________________________________ Actions The Fourth French Republic is established with Jean Jaures as the head of state, he announces his intention to end the war and an that all who defect from the Republican side will be accepted. Paris is declared a global seat of the 2nd Internationale A massive propaganda campaign is launched playing off of recent Republican defeats and Socialist gains. They promise an end to the fighting. Immediate efforts to repair the northern industry is launched, all remaining factories are dedicated 100% to the war effort. Improvement of the National Liberation Army by the more experienced French officers is begun in addition to recruitment drives. Charles Faucheux and the NLA Aurora travel across France doing various things (see above)

The Polish Republic 1916 ______________________________________________________________________________ The Great Patriotic War In January of 1917, a combined Polish-Russian army swept across eastern Europe. The operation, code named ‘Mercury’ had been in intense planning for six months prior to launch. Polish and Russian soldiers had been intensively training to quickly occupy and rout the sparse German defenders. Finally, it had begun, East Prussia had fallen, and the Russians were at the gates of Danzig. The Polish National Army had seen its first taste of real combat in the south. fighting to liberate Polish cities of Krakow and Kattowitz, each man according to a source ‘fought with the ferocity of five Germans’ Across the country, propaganda filled the street. Posters urged men to enlist and fight for a truly united Poland. Other pieces brought news of the fall of East Prussia, The war was being dubbed ‘The Great Patriotic War’ and the hopes were to instill nationalism and pride in the peoples. More importantly hopefully rising the popularity of the National Party. ______________________________________________________________________________ The War Economy The rather meager industry of Poland had been switched into an almost complete state of War. With permission from Congress, and the approval of Pilsudski any available factory was instructed to transfer at least 80% of their production capacity to war material. Rifles, bullets, and, equipment poured from the Polish industry to the frontlines. While the men head to the front, to finally liberate oppressed Polish lands, women were encouraged to work in the factories whenever possible. ______________________________________________________________________________ Call to Action Poland has yet to be fully united. Austrian and German empires hold much of its ethnic lands. Sadly the war has matched brothers against brothers and friends against friends. Polish men serve on both sides. It is made known across all of ethnic Poland that the true Polish state will accept any defectors. Polish units under Austrian and German controlled are encouraged to rise up and join the Entente in the Great Patriotic War! ______________________________________________________________________________ Siege of Kattowitz - 1916 to be added later (Maybe) ______________________________________________________________________________ Polish Menu A propaganda/recruitment drive begins, the war is being called ‘The Great Patriotic War’, propaganda is geared to the National Party All factories are instructed to transfer a minimum of 80% of their production capacity to the war effort. Women are encouraged to work in factories Poles living under and serving both the Austrians and Germans are encouraged to rise up and join the Polish army.

The Polish Republic 1915 ______________________________________________________________________________ A Country United Poland has been embroiled in chaos. Rebel groups in the country vied for power amidst the crumbling Russian Empire. From the ashes of blood, death, and destruction order emerged. Headed by Jozef Pilsudski and the National Government, a large portion of poland was unified. This did not apply to all however. Rebel movements continued to fight on in fringes of the Polish border. Finally, an assembly was called, if Poland was to survive they must be united. Rebel leaders from across the country came, and after much discussion an agreement was reached, Poland was whole again. ______________________________________________________________________________ Congressional Elections and a Message to the People Jozef Pilsudski stands before a large crowd in front of the Congressional building. The sky is gray and rain patterns down on the large crowd before him. Pilsudski clears his throat as he begins his speech. “My fellow countrymen, long has our nation and people been oppressed and partitioned by our neighbors. But no longer, the ages of oppression are over. We are no longer slaves to a foreign power, we are free peoples! In the recent chaos that plagued our nation, I acted as temporary head of state, I am honored by the opportunity to lead such a noble people. However, I can no longer fulfill this role, it is time for a democratically elected body to assume its position. I urge the people of Poland to take advantage of an opportunity unbeknownst to us, to vote in the coming elections. I strongly advise my predecessors to observe the interests of the common man above all else, and to avoid the entangling alliances of Europe at all costs. With that my friends and countrymen, I formally resign from the position of consul” With that, he stepped down from the podium, with luck he would long be remembered as a hero of the country However, this would not be where Pilsudski’s political career ends. Several days after his formal resignation, he announces his intention to run for the position of Consul at the head of the National party. The National party is a relatively new movement, and is most easily defined as Nationalist-Republican movement. ______________________________________________________________________________ Polish National Army The National Army was in a state of complete chaos, there was no proper chain of command or leadership. The Polish Army was no more than various bands of loyal militant factions. Pilsudski, a military man himself decides something must be done. A high command is composed, the most promising and experienced figures of command are selected. Next a complete re organization of the army into a modern and uniform fashion is launched. It was clear to Pilsudski and the Polish leadership that the issues regarding the splinter groups must be dealt with. After much debate, the orders are distributed. The Polish National army would divide into regional commands to address any issues faster and more efficiently. Training drives continue for troops who are still unassigned to any active operations. In addition to previously mentioned government directives, a second branch of the Polish National Army is formed, the Polish Corp of Engineers. The new branch will serve a limited combat roll and will see use far outside the realms of military operations. In wartime, the corp will be dedicated to assisting battlefield fortification and entrenchment operations as well as the overall logistics of the army. In peace times its proposed to be used for mostly civil projects such as the construction of railways, roads, and other public or government projects. Long the pride of the Polish army, the legendary cavalry units known as the Polish Hussars have long served the nation as a vital asset. Though times are changing and the battlefield rolls of cavalry are becoming less and less important, their maneuverability and intelligence potential is perfect for small clashes and raids. The most veteran of the Hussars have duties away from the frontlines. They are assigned to be instructors, new government directives push for a growth in the cavalry forces in Poland. As many fresh recruits join the branch, they will require adept instructors. ______________________________________________________________________________ Expansion of the Rails Railways were undoubtedly the fastest and most efficient methods of transportation available across land routes. They were also extremely versatile, they could support public industry and transportation but in times of war could be used for the quick transport of men and material. Poland’s railways were not non existent but there was always room for improvement. Seeing it as a perfect opportunity to break in the new Polish Corp of Engineers, the branch is commissioned to construct several new rail lines across the country. Any funding and material not directly available would be asked for in request to the Russian Union. ______________________________________________________________________________ Industrial front The industry of Poland is severely lacking and the government realizes the importance of establishing an industry to properly supply the armed forces and grow the economy. As a result, the government personally funds the construction of several arms factories across secure territory as well as offers extremely low taxes for companies wishing to branch into Poland. The hope is that Poland’s industrial growth will be spurred and the economy will improve in general. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Polish Menu The Polish National Army, is reorganized into a modern army model. Army Corp [23,040] -Division I, II, III [7,680] -- 1st, 2nd Brigade [2,560] --- Battalion I, II, III, IV [640] ----- Company A, B, C [160] ------- Platoon I, II, III, IV [40] ----- Company Support [160] ------- Platoon I, II, III, IV [40] - Cavalry Attachment [2500] The Polish Corp of Engineers is founded. Its main objectives are to assist and oversee battlefield fortification and logistical efforts. In times of war the branch will be dedicated to civil and federal works. The most veteran of the Hussars are made instructors and are to begin training a larger quantity of recruits as horsemen. The Polish Corp of Engineers is commissioned by the government to improve the Polish railway network. If required, the Russian Union is requested to offer funding to the project. The government personally funds the construction of several arms factories in Warsaw and other urban areas in order to help supplement the arms shortage and spur the economy. Extremely low business taxes is offered to companies wishing to bring industry to the fledgling nation. The first national elections are held. All 100 positions of Congress are up for election as well as the Consulship. Jozef Pilsudki announces his intention to run for the position of Consul in the upcoming elections at the head of the ‘National Party’

17 BBY (Early Months) ______________________________ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAdYmUk6oVY The Final Holdout The selected vessels of what remains of the CIS fleet is dispatched to the Inner belt. They exit the atmosphere with no trouble before proceeding to open space. By the mid 17 BBY various reports on several potentially lucrative asteroids filter back into High command. The assault on Myros goes exceedingly well. The city, unaware of the separatist presence and unsuspecting of an attack is taken entirely by surprise. The BX commandos led by Jan ruthlessly secure a beach head without much of a fight. By the time local Edichi forces catch wind of the incursion, Droid forces have deployed en masse, any hastily prepared attempts to repel the invaders are terminated. By Mid morning the local government has unconditionally surrendered to Jan and the droid army. Edichi civilians wake up to the roar of separatist fighters overhead, droid patrols in the streets, and CIS flags flying overhead. (-3 BX Commandos) (+20 AT-LEs, +2 MR-PCs) Long live the Confederacy! 203rd Attack Battalion The First task force, dispatched to the mountains finds a suitable location for a permanent HQ. Though not equipped with the best or most proper excavation equipment, work begins nonetheless. As the early months of 17 BBY roll to a close, the beginnings of a hangar are finished as well as other basic facilities. The second task force arrives at the designated city without issue. Not far from the city limits the 203rd disembarks in force. The march to city is met with no resistance, crowds of civilians gather in the streets to welcome the Grand Army of the Republic. The majority of the populace is welcoming to the Clones, including the local government. Once their mission is made clear, enthusiasm dies down. Small groups of men opt to join the battalion, but they’re far from equals to the rest of the troops. (+100 raw recruits) The third task force successfully surveys the largest of Edichi’s moon. Even though they are far from properly equipped for such missions, the clones makes do. Excavation efforts begin, the first load of raw material arrives at the base site in mid 17 BBY though it is rather underwhelming. Loyalist Centre Communication with the other 3 Imperial Battle groups is made. Tensions within the Edichi capital (LP-A) remain high. The number of Imperial supporters within the government and the civilian population is far outweighed by those who oppose the occupation. Though no physical clashes erupt, any single event could cause the entire city to erupt into chaos. Battle of the Isosus Peninsula After refusing the directives of the Loyalist Centre to cede all command, the former 1st Imperial Battlegroup was placed on high alert. Their fears become reality when long range sensors detected Loyalist forces approaching on their positions. The fighter wings were scrambled, The navy in the immediate vicinity called forth to form a defence against the overwhelming might of the Loyalist Navy. The first of the fighting occurs in the skies, the loyalist fleet composing of an Imperial Star Destroyer, a Victory Class Star Destroyer, and 4 Arquitens Class Light Cruisers are only met by a Single Victory class accompanied by 4 Arquiten Light Cruisers. The battle, occuring in low orbit rages across the skies. Wings of TIE fighters zip through the battle, their ever present wail fills the air. The Loyalist forces, led by Varina Rourke in her TIE defender quickly overwhelm the smaller fleet. The ISD Ravager’s overwhelming firepower deals massive amount of damage to the opposing fleet. Unable to compete with the Loyalist’s massive amount of firepower Imperial forces attempt to withdraw. The Victory class cruiser, nearly escaping is dealt a critical blow, explosions rip across the ship as it plummets to the surface of the Edichi. Only one Arquitens class light cruiser escapes the battle. The ground campaign is a different story. Numerically superior and entrenched Imperial forces resist the Loyalist landings fiercely. Every step closer to the Imperial headquarters at LP-B is paid for in blood. However Loyalist domination of the skies effectively renders the defenders strong points and armor useless. Imperial bombing and strafing runs quickly dispatch exposed targets. Imperial forces opt to launch a fighting retreat back to their headquarters. After eight days of intense and bloody fighting, much of the infrastructure leading to and surrounding the headquarters is captured by loyalist forces. The gates of Imperial headquarters are reached. The beginnings of a siege are set in motion, Loyalist bomber wings begin neutralizing strategic assets in the city. Several days into the siege, what's left of the 1st battle group surrender, most likely under the pressure of the local government and population. What remains of the battlegroup personnel pledges its allegiance Loyalist Command and the remaining assets are absorbed. The whereabouts of what remained of the 1st Battle Group's fleet is unknown. Loyalist Losses (-135 Stormtroopers, -824 Imperial Army Troopers) (-3 AT-STs, -1 TX-225 tank) (-26 TIE fighters, -2 TIE bombers) 1st Battle group Losses (-253 Stormtroopers, -483 Imperial Army Troopers) (-5 AT-STs, -2 TX-225 tanks, -2 AT-ATs) (-36 TIE fighters, -3 TIE interceptors, -6 TIE bombers) ( -1 Victory Class Star Destroyer, -3 Arquitens Class Light Cruisers) Edichi Task Force Losses (-56 Stormtroopers) (-3 TIE fighters) Independant Edichi Movement The two squadrons dispatched to Alpa and Dreis respectively find great success. Most of the locals harbour some form of Anti-Imperial sentiment and quickly jump on the opportunity. reports arrive back in Keigh. The establishment of the Alpa, and Dreis cell respectively are successful. The half platoon dispatched to Argowell arrives without issue. The populace, historically isolated and disconnected from the rest of the world doesn't offer much support to the rebels, but they manage to scrounge up a handful of recruits. (+74 recruits) Training initiatives in Keigh are met with relative levels of success. (+53 regulars, -53 recruits) Captain Lor Billa is approached with an offer by one of the locals (Discord) Clan Odall Odall troops successfully manage to assume control of the three settlements south east of the river. However between the local garrisons and the main base, Odall troops are spread extremely thin. Contact with the Imperial Legion to the north is established. At the intiatal landing site fortifications begin construction. A lack of manpower severely hampers the project, over the course of the following months some minor fortifications as well as basic facilities are established. Clan Ordo Production at Treiban begins, however most facilities lack the proper equipment and resources. As the months move on the factories slowly optimize though no finished fighters are produced, only several partially finished ones. A stronger sensor is acquired from the local government at Treiban. Initial examinations deem it to be more than adequate for their intended purposes. Fortifications at the main base are more or less finished, several strong points and emplacements are constructed. In addition, a shield generator generously ‘donated’ by the local forces at Treiban is installed. 82nd Dread Battalion The Fighters scout the nearby area, little of note is spotted, just empty desert. What seems to be a structure or remnants of some complex is sighted in the south eastern section of the desert however. Phaross and the coastal settlement largely reject the offers of vassalization. Little information as to why is known, but the army carries on nonetheless. The two shuttles dispatched to the smallest of Edichi’s two moons arrive without issue. Mining operations begin though progress is slow due to the lack of proper equipment and machinery. A suitable location for the base is discovered in the mountains, with most of the battalion’s efforts focused there construction begins without much issue. As the early months of 17 BBY finish off, basic facilities as well as light fortifications are completed. Imperial Legion Contact with the other Imperial battlegroups is established. The city lies firmly in Imperial hands. No information regarding the existence of any rebel or opposition cells has arrived. Patrols routinely sweep the city and Imperial forces heavily monitor everything arriving and leaving the city. Squads sent out arrive with.. Interesting news. It seems that a Mandalorian war party has successfully managed to assume control of the settlements south east of the river. Their numbers are not known, but it appears their forces are stretched rather thin. The personal squad sent out to search for the Jedi scum return with no findings… How disappointing. 104th Battalion The ships arrive in the outer asteroid belt with no issue, mining efforts begin but suffer from a lack of the proper equipment and machinery. The first shipments of raw material soon begin arriving back at the base of operations. A secure transmission is sent out in an effort to contact possible surviving clone battalions, though nothing is received in return. Maybe they’re choosing not to respond? Or maybe we really are all that's left… The Battalion’s current positions begin to be fortified. As the early months of 17 BBY draw to a close the effort was deemed largely successful. Strong points, trenches, and emplacements form a strong defense around the base. Dorno and his clone contingent successfully survey the land. It would seem most of the area in the immediate vicinity is heavily wooded. The local wildlife, though extremely interesting and unique isn't particularly hostile. Arthropods, Mammals, and Aves are the most common, some creatures surprisingly enough are partially fluorescent. Beasts of Zillo The local black market seems to be a rather medium size, nothing like what we had on Coruscant. The Beasts of Zillo seem to be one of the larger crime groups in the area. The nearby area is surveyed, reports of a Mandalorian expedition off the southern coast of the continent filter back. It seems they’ve taken control of one of many of the southern isles, including a rather large city. How curious. What hidden camp is Finch talking about? Clearly he’s gone mad, almost all of the pirates are currently living in Andwell. A local crime group, the Red Sun Federation has quite the large stash of heavier blasters and equipment. Some rumors even say they have a small stash of AT-LEs, perhaps they’d be willing to sell some of it off. There’s not a whole lot of space to train the pirates, though some find the time. “who is Finch to try and organize us? We’re doing just fine how we are, right?” The Edichi Task Force Holdings governed by the task force largely switch to a system nearly identical to that of the Edichi. Though this is not entirely unopposed, small groups of the Imperial officer corp oppose this decision, believing it will lessen the grip of the Empire on the territories. The 1st and 3rd groups dispatched to gain control of the nearby settlements are successful. The cities reluctantly allow the entry of Imperial forces. Though the second settlement, at the foothills of the mountain openly denounces the Task Force’s blatant Imperialism. The Arquitens cruiser, upon approaching the city is fired on by an array of gun batteries and forced to retreat after sustaining minor damage. Expansion of the production facilities begins though it is slow. The local Edichi are very reluctant to offer their services to who they see as an oppressor. The recruitment campaign is launched, though it doesn't pick up much traction a few men opt to join the Imperial Navy. (+50 Imperial Navy Troopers) No company fulfills the requirements for the contract. Though major companies possess the means to, many would rather produce their own fighters or work for Edichi clients rather than the Empire. The surveyors sent to the mountains are mostly successful. When they were not restricted by the hostilities of the foothill city they managed to complete their missions. Reports filtering back to high command suggest that there are many resource rich deposits. The selected forces are dispatched to aid the Loyalist forces. -
