Tune 4 Share Posted October 31, 2013 Greetings everyone, In the first place I do apologize if this question is not placed in the right place, but I needed some help, so I figured I'd ask my question here. So, I haven't even applied to the server yet, but I'm reading through all the rules and watching ome videos on youtube to learn more about RPing and LoTC's rules before starting to play. And I was wondering, is one able to build their own house and village or something like that? Because I am planning on (try) joining together with 3 of my good friends and we'd be playing as 4 Dwarfbrothers. And we were wondering if we are able to build or own strongholdish thing in the map. Because we were not sure if there are any building areas in the map.. And I have 1 more little question, is there any way to keep other people out of your chests? Except for LWC, since that's for donators only. I hope that someone can help me with this! Thanks a lot in advance. Tune-
Neri 3590 Share Posted October 31, 2013 There's a lot of building areas available, although if you plan to build in Dwarven lands you'll probably need to get permission from the Grand King or such - i'm not entirely sure on how they handle land and such. Protecting your stuff? You can always hide it, or get someone else who has LWC to lock it. You can also ask GM's to lock your things as long as you keep it to a small amount of locks, as far as I know. Hope you enjoy your time on LOTC! DecoLamb 959 Share Posted October 31, 2013 You're in pretty much the right place, don't worry about that. You -can- build your own home in unprotected areas (there are several), and easily start your own village. However, why don't you try getting in contact with the dwarven group already existing? There is a city that could really use some new life, and I'm sure they'll welcome you with open arms. Take a peek in the dwarven roleplay forum I'm sure you'll find something they have that you'll enjoy. There really isn't a way other than hiding them well, or donating to get LWC to lock things, if you're doing the locking yourself. But many people who have donated offer up their locking abilities to others. Just ask around and I'm sure you'll get someone to do it for you. Lark 2227 Share Posted October 31, 2013 I'll be honest, making your own stronghold and plopping it down somehere is about the worst thing you can do. Why? You miss out on so much roleplay. You are better off finding housing in the dwarven towns and living there rather then keeping to yourselves in a stronghold. As for chests, you can hide them. Hope this helped! Kardel 1054 Share Posted October 31, 2013 Why make a whole new city? The dwarves have a hold called Vaerhaven perfect for rp like this. Its centralized and very nice looking, and always looking for new members! You can always start your own shops and if you want build your own house! Tune 4 Author Share Posted November 1, 2013 Thank you all for your replies! As for why I would want to start my own village: Simply because I really love building and desiging houses, town walls and lots of stuff. I do know I can't just pick a spot and start building, that wouldn't be 'role-play-friendly', but I'm still very keep on building one. And ofcourse, once me and my friends've build some houses we will try and get more members for the village! Once more, thanks you for all your answers and suggestions, it really helped me out!
