Semi Controversal Matter

Frankly I am tired of the attitude "Well we don't get along OOCly so I will remove you from RP completely."

 

We have talked about taking the initiative to stamp out things that will progress to OOC bickering and flames. I am not afraid of that outcome I simply know that it will happen from both sides. Take away their toys and make them play nice. It's brutal but simple.

 

We don't need to allow total domination. I don't think that should ever be an option. 

 

If it were "making an event" then it would be based off the premise that both sides should have fun from it. This is merely a way for one group to try to remove another group that they don't get along with. At this point in the struggle I honestly don't think I can believe that the "event" is anything more than a way to deal with OOC strife. So a firm No. The player base needs freedom but they also need to understand that if they act like children that we won't reward them for it.

 

If you let it start and then take away then you get outcry. Let's cut our losses with this situation and deny it.

All sides are more or less at fault here, including us.
 

• The elves need to man the heck up, half their reasoning for trolling them, is because they -know- it will make a scene. They -know- they will get a reaction out of them, and that's how they get their cheep kicks.
• The humans need to be slapped. They are allowing their OOC dislike of elven RPs and their want to get a reaction out of them bleed into their RP. Their attitude OOCly, ICly and on the forums towards the elves (and sorta towards us) is absolutely deplorable.
• We (that's right) need to stop holding the elves to a higher standard than the humans as players. We've been letting the humans get away with so much stupid sh!t just because its come to be expected of them its shameful.

 

 

So, we allow them their camp (not calling it death camp) but we tell them, that they need to get their wretched act together. Remind them this is a cooperative RP experience. If they treat it as a trolly just to piss off the elves death camp. We pull the plug. They step out of line and make another "lol elves suck" status update or flame post, we pull the plug. Basically yes we give it to them, but when we do we put the fear of god into them that the moment they screw up, its gone, and maybe some of their players as well.

Reading over some comments, I would like to clear something up.

 

The hatred some very select humans have for the elves OOC, does not bleed into RP as much as some people would think.

 

Humans have hated elves through RP for a while now, especially more so now than before due to seeing a lot of elves at the rebellion seige the other day. 

 

So through roleplay, they came to the conclusion that the elves have picked a side and therefore cannot be trusted inside the kingdom of oren. 

 

It would add RP for the guards of Malinor, always on post and looking out, making sure their citizens are safe and hell why did no one even consider the fact of recreating....

Sigh, I will be quite sad if this gets denied. Not for the fact that it's a death camp and boy do I love me my death camps (joke).

 

For the fact that, it's some progression in RP. Granted not the shiny and pretty progression that is usually seen, but progression nonetheless.

Let them do it, but should they fail to cause enjoyable role-play the Spartan legion will hunt them down.  There's a difference between trying to kill an entire race and actually succeeding.
