House Othaman

 

History:

 

Who knew that a small nomad peasant would one day be something more? It started when Jon, a 10 year old nomad traveled place to place selling his wares with his mother. He was a strong lad, not that tall but built and very quick. Mud and dirt was always covered on his face, and it coated him like a set of clothes the day the Prince road into Abresi.

 

Jon stooped to the Prince as he stopped infront of him for by chance Jon had happened to be in his way. Standing up slowly, Jon looked at Prince David Winter of Herendul, the man he would forever think of as a father. The Prince saw worth in Jon and recruited him into the Winterguard with hopes that one day he could learn to become a knight.

 

8 years of hard work, battling evil, and bitter Northern cold paid off as Jon was knighted for his efforts. 3 years after he was married and had two baby girls named Arcell and Priscilla whom he raised on a small peice of land he owned in Herendul. Finally, the King of Herendul summoned Sir Jon who took the name Othaman. The King gave Sir Jon Othaman a mission to unite the squabbling lands of the Cloud Temple and bring them under Herendul.

 

He began by raising a small force and marched to one of the towns. Town by town, house by house, farmer by farmer, they united in a territory led by Sir Jon Othaman who took the title Lord Protector. After a few more years of expanding, Jon was met by the kidnapping and missing of his wife. Times were hard so the Lord Protector gathered his bannermen, various guilds, and town guards into one group named the Red Cross.

 

They trained, scouted, fought, and died until they grew to be one. Seperated from Herendul and Oren, the newly made Viscounty called Valles was on their own as they battled rebels, Dwarves, Orcs, Elves, and the Black Scourge whom they were surronded by. However, they did not give up, and after two heroic battles they became a March and a force to be matched with none other.

 

Herendul joined with the Kingdom of Oren due to the wisdom of King Edward Winter II now known as Archduke Edward Winter II. Marquis Jon Othaman became friends with the king, and together with the other nobles they planned an invasion on the Dwarves, an invasion they cannot lose. Already they have won a battle in Dwarven lands and taken the Dwarven held Kaedrin lands as their own. They would be an Empire.

 

Valles:

 

Warm summers and cold winters are what the peaceful meadows and forests of Valles experienced. A couple towns lie scattered across it, and though the people are peaceful they are prepared for the looming cold of the Scourge. Townspeople join the Town Levy in times of battle for short periods of time and after may attend to their fields and families. All it is good in this part of the world.

 

Kaedrin

 

A place plagued by war and death. Streching from looming mountains to dark forests, Kaedrin is no place for the weak of heart. Yet, in the valleys can be found some of the most beautiful landscapes of the world where shining lakes glisten and animals graze. On top of one of the mountain peaks sits the Fortress of the Red Cross where the knightly order keeps watch of those they serve and protect.
