What is roleplaying?: - Creating a character and playing as them in a fictional land .

What’s metagaming?: -  Speaking with knowledge you are not supposed to have. For example you friend has told you on  skype that the orcs are going  to attack Oren so you warn  all of the city.

What’s powergaming?: -  Saying that your character can do impossible things. For example that Moronians can block bullets with their hands.

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

What race are they (and sub-race)?: -  Human, Northerner.

What sex are they?: -  Male

How old are they?: -  23

Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family (Include server lore when writing): -  Sevran never really knew where he came from, his Step Father always said that he was found in the Dwarven city of  Kal'azgoth, outside a temple as small baby.  His step parents were at the temple on a pilgrimage and heard him crying. They decided to adopt him when they realised that the temple guards were going to bring him to the filthy local orphanage, where he would probably have died from neglect.   After seeking permission from the guards they left Kal'azgoth and travelled back to their home in the city of Abresi.  His parents Alice and Greylum, brought him up with their other two sons, Malex and  Ryan.

 

Greylum was a hunter and they lived on the outskirts of the city, so he could hunt and still access the  city to  sell his deer skins and meat.

 

When Sevran arrived  Malex was aged 19 and was a  fisherman but Ryan was he same age as Sevran and they became close.  When Sevran and Ryan were 10 his father taught them how to hunt the local deer and rabbits.   They made a little gold but Sevran was discontented and wanted more from life.  

 

When he was 17, some travelling adventurers came to the local inn and told stories about life in the Wilds.  Sevran asked them if he could join them, with his brother as they were both excellent bow men.  The men had laughed and challenged him to a  sword fight.  When Sevran realised how little he  really knew of sword craft he was humiliated and returned home, determined to learn.

 

He begged his father to allow him to leave home and take up an apprenticeship in the palace as a soldier.   His father was against the idea, but knew that Sevran was unlikely to stay at home like his brothers, he had ambition to see more of the  world and was never expected to remain forever.   Reluctantly, he gave his permission and enough coin for Sevran to pay for an apprencticeship for a year.  He left the  following week before the winter storms set in and set off towards the Abresi Palace Barracks.

 

He spent a hard year amongst the other trainees with no guarantee of acceptance, but his determination to succeed impressed his tutors and his skill as an archer won their respect.  He was  accepted into  the  Guards Company at the end of the year and his official training commenced. Two  years later at the age of 20 he  was a skilled Guardsman, but  as he saw more of the  poverty in the city and the  contrasting wealth of the noblemen who lived in the Palace, he  was starting to question his belief in what he was defending.

 

One day he received a visit from the Priest in the local temple, he had been a child hood friend of his father.  He gave him the terrible news that his family had been killed during a raid on their home by mercenaries.  Sevran and the other Guards had been aware of the increasing number of raids on outlying areas of Abresi, but the Palace authorities had refused to allow them to ride out  against them.   They did not consider raids so far from the Palace as a major threat.  Sevran was grief stricken, feeling guilty and furious that he had been unable to protect his family. He obtained permission to leave the barracks and arrange the funerals, but he had no intention of returning.  He left knowing he would be a deserter, but determined to find a way to take revenge for his family and many other family's deaths.

 

What are they like (personality)?: -  Kind natured, brave, determined, adventurous,   likes a joke , stubborn, calm, hard working and good under pressure. 

What are their ambitions?: -  To travel around Anthos and hopefully find fortune and a cause he can believe in 

Do they have any special skills?: -  Good with a bow and arrow  and a great climber.

What are their weaknesses?: -  Terrified of undead and susceptible to illness.  

Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?: -  Brown hair, blue eyes, normal human size.

Anything else you want to say about them?: -  Sevran is ok with a sword but not the best.

Your application has been denied because you did not make the following changes in the 24 hour period:

 

- Your biography, like last time, needs to be a bit more in-depth on certain subjects such as your character's father teaching him how to hunt. Rather than simply explaining it by saying something along the lines of 'His father taught him how', turn it in to more of a story. How did his father teach him? What was the process they went through to learn this skill? You don't need to write a whole essay, but make it more interesting than a simple, 1-line explanation. You should do the same for the guardsman training.

 

I am going to review your latest application as if it were the edited version of this application, however in future, please edit your last application rather than posting a new one.
