Appletart300 8 Share Posted April 18, 2014 Lately I haven't had much time to roleplay as a character of importance, a character where others may depend on me... I find myself popping on and off for about twenty minutes at a time and this got me to my idea. I want to create a character similar to dark souls lore but trying to make it original. I personally like the idea of roleplaying a depressed, wandering knight that wanders around (didn't see that coming) and slays monsters and explores dungeons. Other players might find me on the side of the road or in a castle, sitting and talking to myself. This would then lead them into roleplaying with me and I get to explain: "Oh, you ask why I mutter to myself? Why it is because I am cursed, slowly dying, like an outlaw walking to his hanging.. I do not sleep and I do not have happiness... I am slowly dying of a plague, that eats me from the inside... " I would then ask them to go retrieve something for me to extend my life span, this would make the other player to feel of importance and as if he or she going on a quest. Basically I feel like somedays when I log on I just say "I want to do something Heroic!" and I never run into anybody that wants to go on adventures... So I wanted to give that opportunity to other players so that if they want something adventurous to do, they can come to me and I'll give them a simple or large task. Essentially I will be an NPC quest giver! So what do you guys think? Would this work and be fun? I think I personally would have fun writing up some interesting tasks... So tell me what you think! Have a great Elven day! -Appletart
Draeris 3124 Share Posted April 18, 2014 I would say go for it, great idea and quite the fresh breath of roleplay.
youdude 104 Share Posted April 18, 2014 CONGRATULATIONS! You have sucesfully become a NPC! In all seriousness, that sounds like a good idea. Only problem is; Could you handle the potential boredom and no-rp waiting?
