Aelu / Rel (Combustionary) 1540 Share Posted May 23, 2014 Yet purists have been intellectually dishonest. It is 'emote default', not 'RP default'. If you want to argue that, 'PvP Defaulters' are guilty of the same thing. It's 'mechanics default', not 'pvp default'. As Alan said - both 'emote' and 'mechanics' combat styles are still 'PvP'. It's just semantics. In the given context, we all know what 'rp fighting' entails. Calling it 'emote default' changes nothing.

Demotheus 651 Share Posted May 23, 2014 The conclusion may be the same, but the time we stay festering in mind numbing hatred for our opponent is wildly different. and that difference is? because I know that no matter what, unless I for whatever reason was looking to mechanics default some people (yesterday when I wanted to try out a few tricks in pvp...didn't expect 3 people to chase after me, but it was fun watching them get lit on fire before I died...damn that world border....damn it to hell!) I'll always seem to be quite bitter afterwards. When I RP fight I've rarely come to that end for the other person. Most people don't intentionally power game. No one says or thinks "i'm goign to powergame to win!" unless they're one of the few absolutely terrible people in the server.

Whomever constructed the two incorrect terms are abusing the English language and euphemistic approaches to belittle those who recognize the mechanics of the video game they play whilst propping up 'emote default' as RP default and casting it in a great light. Those who are good at sophistry and intellectual dishonest debates thus then use these two issues to their own advantage. Very good to point out.
