I'm asking if I were to put some infected sample under a magnifying glass, what would I be able to see compared to an organism that isn't infected. Thats why I asked what type of pathogen it would be.

I recommend figuring out these things in role-play. The imagination is a powerful tool Cyndikate, and you deserve to wield it, not the Tech Team in this case.

 

People have given names to the disease, symptoms, speculated its origins. I believe, that you can handle this one on your own, if you are truly curious, role-play will yield the answer to you.
