Definitions

 

These terms are a major part of the server and in a few of our rules. Please define them so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers or check on our wiki, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person!

 

What is roleplaying?: -  playing as a character where YOU take their personality and actions.  You don’t become the character, but you act like them.  They have their own features and knowledge, and are controlled by you.  You follow the rules to make the experience richer.  Roleplaying is supposed to be fun and realistic.  Your character has a backstory that you follow

 

What’s metagaming?: -  using OOC info IC.  Ex - knowing where loot is because your friend told you and racing there to get it

 

What’s powergaming?: -  giving yourself advantages over other players.  Powergames try to speed progress towards levels, rewards, and quests, and usually don’t care about roleplaying when trying to accomplish these goals.  OOC info is used IC.  Sometimes doing stuff that isn't possible in Real Life, only in a video game and not realistic to roleplaying

 

In-Character Information

 

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that you follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

What race are they? (and sub-race if applicable): -  Human, Highlander

 

What gender are they?: -  Male

 

How old are they?: - 18

 

Give us a highlight of their past, What life events make your character the person they are today? This is your character's biography. It is also required to include server lore when writing. (Names of towns, major server events, ect. Most lore can be found on our wiki.): - Merek was born in Luminaire with his mother, father, and brother, and father.  He lived his childhood on the city streets, playing with other children.  However, his mother and father left him and his brother homeless in the city when they left the city.  They left due to not being able to support a family, and it is said that they died not long after they left.  Growing up on the streets hardened Merek enough that he was able to fend for himself, without parents, but he still missed his parents.  When he was 14, his brother (18) went off to join the Oren army and fight for the emperor.  Before he left, his brother gave him their fathers hunting bow, and Merek, now completely alone, left the city and headed into the surrounding wilderness.  He taught himself to shoot a bow and hunt, and became an expert marksman, training for 3 years in the wilderness.  Finally, he returned to Luminaire and lived out the rest of his life…

What are they like? (personality): -  Merek is quite, and likes to keep to himself.  He is very smart and intelligent and is a quick thinker.  While he is sometimes reckless, he usually thinks each situation through, and when he does think the situation through, he will make the best decision.  Merek likes hunting and exploring.

 

What are their ambitions?: -  Merek just wants to explore the world and see as much of it as he can.  He wants to live a good, long life, and wants to fight for what he believes in.  He wants to visit every realm in Aegis, and wants to meet orcs, elves, dwarves alike so that he can tell his grandkids of amazing stories travelling all over.

 

Do they have any special skills? What are their weaknesses? (Try to list a few of both): -  Merek is an excellent archer, quick thinker, light on his feat.  Some weaknesses are he is inexperienced with heavy weapons, won't win any fist fights, and isn't as experienced as other warriors.

 

Give us a description of how they look?: -  He has red-orange hair, fair skin,  and emerald green eyes.  He commonly wears his simple brown tunic
