For players new to role-playing a dwarf, a Clan is an easy way to gain fun and valuable role-play. -=-=- Elder Clans The Grandaxe Clan https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/113271-the-grandaxe-clan/ Clan Father: Fimlin Grandaxe [worldiswar28] Typical Professions: Lumberjack, Breeder, Blacksmith, Woodworker, Leatherworker Summary: The Grandaxes are fire-haired Mountain Dwarves who value their honor above all else, founded by Bogrin Grandaxe the clan holds a reputation for their skill with an axe. Early during the days of Aegis, a disagreement split the clan in two for many years, before taking up the name of Grandaxe once again. During this split, and continued after the Grandaxes gained high positions in power, and many were crowned the King of the dwarven kingdom. During their time spent in Anthos, many of the clan had died out, however since the move to the Fringe many lost members have been found, and the clan is made prosperous yet again before the move to Athera. Since the reign of Urguan himself, many influential Ironguts have played vital roles in the ever-changing story of our world, including Kings and Lords, indeed, even an Ascended among their ranks. Whether seen forging great weapons for the Kingdom, extracting the treasures of the cavernous depths, or harnessing the great magical forces of the world, the Ironguts have always been a strong and important clan of the Dwedmar. Their numbers often are found to be soldiers of the Legion who fight for Dungrimm, renowned for their excellent fighting capabilities and honor in the field. Starbreakers are greatly religious and often brought up to be racist. However the exception when it comes to racism with the Starbreakers is individuals who are seen as friends to the family or friends to the dwarven nation. Being greatly religious another popular ambition of Starbreakers lies within the clergy. Those with Goldhand blood have long been amongst the best and most successful vendors in the Dwarven realm, but the clan is not limited to just merchants. The clan includes accomplished architects, soldiers, political leaders, and treasure hunters. Distinguished as a Noble Clan for their accomplishments and long standing support of the Dwarven Nation, Goldhands are proud of their lineage. The blood-bond within the clan is incredibly strong and they always look out for their family members. They are the most barbaric of the Mountain dwarves. They have had a heavy hand Urguan kingdom's military. They are generally seen as uncultured drinkers and fighters. However their pride for their clan and kingdom has them respected among the dwedmar. The Treebeards are simply known for trying to get the most out of life, living in luxury and making sure their mugs are always filled to the brim. The Treebeards show great respect and compassion for one another, ready to lend a helping hand in whatever the activity may be. Although they will never forget their ancient history with their mountain-dwelling cousins, they still show respect to them, even if they fail to return it. Spoiler http://i.imgur.com/rdpAphS.jpg -=- The Ironborn Clan [No Clan Thread Available] Clan Father: N/A Typical Professions: Blacksmith, Stonemason, Miner, Tinker, Enchanter Summary: The Ironborn are the youngest of the elder clans, in Aegis they had risen to power and became the dreaded tyrants the dwarves would have to face in the oncoming dynasty of Ironborn rulers. Clan Ironborn had forged a harsh and cruel Empire under the blessing of Khorvad, known as Iblees in the common tongue. Eventually the Ironborn dynasty was overthrown and the clan was scattered. The remnant of the Ironborn forged anew in Athera, and stormed the dwarf capitol of Kal'Agnar, only to fail in defending the city when the Grand Kingdom marches to retake the city. Spoiler http://i.imgur.com/4zcBiNh.jpg -=-=- Commoner Clans Doomforge Clan https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/118324-the-clan-of-the-doomforge/ Clan Father: Demagol Doomforge [Greenpelt201345] Typical Professions: Miner, Blacksmith, Stonemason, Enchanter, Alchemist Summary: The Doomforge are distinct in their appearance; They are the merge of Dark Elves and Dwarves, they are always found to be dark skinned, with a purplish tone to the skin. Darker hair colors are common, although fiery orange is not unheard of. Their eyes are their more descriptive caracteristic, since they have a fierce full red and orange glare, with a dim glow to them. They're short, and usually have long elven ears. Their beards grow just like a Dwarves, but it is known that it takes much longer to groom them than that of a Dwarves, as it grows grizzly and curled. Doomforged are very mysterious, secluded, but other clans know it wise to not make a Doomforged angry, as they are usually very strong and easily annoyed. The Doomforged are known to have an erratic behaviour, with some performing heroic deeds, while others take a darker path. Many progressing quickly up the ladders of their respective fields. They are skilled in mercantilism, literacy, and combat of course. One of their main skills, however, resides in engineering and redstone. They have brownish-red hair, unusually tall for a dwarf, and the characteristic of order. Their lineage has sparked much debate but, as far as can be seen from the ancestry of the clan, the Irongrinders are descended from both mountain dwarves and cave dwarves.
