A Great Injustice

*You are walking along a forest path when you happen upon a note stuck to a tree. You begin to read the note.*

Today, great injustice has occurred! A dwarf by the name of Thorin Snowbeard was executed! Now in the city of Kal'Urguan, the execution of a dwarf is a common thing, but this time it was different! Thorin did nothing wrong! All he did was speak his mind about what he thought of the king and how he was running the kingdom. He said that he thought the kingdom would fall and the city would burn! But, he never made a direct threat to anybody! So, fellow dwarfs, I want you to think! Do you want to live a kingdom where speaking your mind and having independent ideas is unlawful? Just something to think about....

The city will burn? Could be interpreted as a threat. Speaking yer mind would be to say a few things that are wrong, as well as suggestions. Though I do not believe ye should be killed. That is way too far, might actually help prove yer point...

There is "freedom of speech" and then there is crossing the line, and you crossed the line. Ye talked about burning down the kingdom, ye talked bad about the king, and the people of Kal'Urguan. I would be mindful of returning if I was you.

((Anyway, you also returned back to the spot where you died, which is an offense, but even though you thought you did nothing wrong, it doesn't matter you still have to play by the rules. It is not that big of a deal since you obviously misunderstood the whole thing anyway, so its not like we are going to report you for that.

Second, The fact that you have a conception of freedom is wrong, nowhere does it say that you have the freedom to speak your mind, there is no document like that. Now, I am NOT Saying that the Kal'Urguan kingdom does not allow freedom of speech, no one better take it that way, we do allow it, but not when you viciously attack the kingdom with your words.

If in real life, I walked up to a police officer, and said "F*** the police, I am going to burn down your building." they would take that as a threat, and consequences should come from that.

I understand the part where you were talking about all the money goes to the council and stuff, that part is ok and you CAN yell and talk about that all you want, but once you cross the line into threatening the kingdom or the king, then you have gone to far.))

((I'm tempted to start up the sand mining thing and yell at the king to make things worse XD, it would be much more fun. Anyways back to the topic, but still OOC as I wouldn't remember. When I threatened the king it was either death or jail, so in my opinion even if you threaten the king you should still have the choice of jail. That's why we have a GUARD application, not an EXECUTIONER application! Of course, it's always more fun to run instead of rot in a jail cell.))

Me would take it as a threat to the great Kingdom. I will ((and have)) die fer thee king and High Council at any moment. Thee king is a great Dwarf and does everything in his power for the kingdom. Even on thee front lines of battle, the king is the first one to enter the enemy city. The rest of the High council does a great job at running the city as well. Look at Outer Kal'Urguan fer example. Every plot of land, every market stall, even every shop is sold!

And if that wasn't enough, the High Council even organizes events Like the Master Axe Tournament! The king and his council do a great job of managing this kingdom. I admit, this kingdom, like all others has problems *cough* Chris *cough*. But those problems are not the fault of the King or Council. They are the fault of twisted minded people or groups. And saying the Kingdom will fall and the City will burn, that is just to far me friend.

I was a witness of this event and let me say the way you said your " speaking your mind " sounded more like threats than your opinion

They put hims in jail, and he kept on yelling nasty comments. Also, it was the Lord Marshall who officially executed him, by approval of the king, not the guards, don't blame them.

I love annoying the hell out of any kind of guard organization. It's pretty fun.

Ye mention that all ye did is speak yer mind but ye haven't told us what ye said. Ye can't ask for us dwarves to give an accurate opinion if we 'aven't even heard the words ye were killed fer.

I said that I thought that the King was not doing his job very well. I went into detail involving him and his high council not being able to complete their jobs in a way that is satisfactory to our kingdom. I said that if things continued like this that Kal'Urguan would fall (to the Undead, who I am not associated with) and burn. I also mentioned how many innocent people would die, including the families of those present. I never threatened anyone. All I did was speak my mind. Then, when I was in jail, I was yelling how I thought there ought to be more freedom in our kingdom. Free speech at the least. I was trying to get people to believe that there ought to be some democracy in our kingdom. The High Council and King choose all the laws and what not, but the common dwarf has no say. The King chooses the High Council from who he wants to, not who the people want. Seems a bit unfair to me.....

((You said that that the kingdom would fall and that families would be burned and innocent people would die. You never mentioned the undead, so obviously we took it as you were going to kill people. As long as you don't threaten people, go ahead ingame, and do your freedom of speech.))
