What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is when you portray the role of a different person, assuming the attitude, personality and actions of the player making different connections and enjoying yourself

What is metagaming?: Metagaming is when your character doesn’t know something in-game but you know it out game and you use it to exploit that person or thing

What is powergaming?: Powergaming is when one side doesn't give enough time for the other person to react, creating an unfair and unrealistic environment for the players.

Character’s name: Gorlan Cider

Character’s gender: Male

Character’s race: Human

Character’s age: 24

Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Gorlan was a young man with years of experience working in the fields around Oakhearth, back is straight and strong.  The man Gorlan calls father came out of the blue when he was 4 years old; his Father, Horus puts his family before everything else.  Gorlan remembers very little of the times before his father.  

Just after Gorlan turns 16 his father falls ill, becoming progressively sicker and weaker.  A mysterious man comes  to the village knocking on when he gets to Gorlan’s  house the man, asks his Mother a few quiet questions then sits at the door to wait.  When father returns from the fields and with an ashen face he asks the man “What an earth are you doing here?” The man simply replies “it is a matter of a debt of dishonourable business.”

Then father says no more and continues in to the house, the man stands and leaves.  As the door closes Gorlan’s Father collapses to the floor.

They help the shaken man to his favourite spot near the hearth and against his mother’s protest he starts to tell Gorlan his story.

“Many years ago I was in the Knights of the Horens where I was the human liaison to the silver Enclave of Haelun'or and its High Elven Government, when there kingdom fell; I was taken in to hiding.  It took me years to return to the Horen’s.  I had sworn an oath to the Horens to protect them, but I was unable to fulfil.  I was a drunkard idiot and failed in my duty.  That man is here to remind me and my family of my oath and the debt so honour is passed down to you.  Gorlan I am a sick old man and I must task you with my debts.”

Discover me and who you are, for I was and am too weak in spirit and flesh. Then you will see who we all are”

Amazed at his Father’s words Gorlan protests that he does not know anything of such things and Knightly ways.

“Your work has been your training Gorlan, trust in how I have taught you.”  

And so at the age of 16 Gorlan departs his family determined that the debt will be repaid, knowing that if he sees his Father again everything will have changed.

8 years later… Gorlan is now an Honourable man as he travelles the kingdoms   experiencing much of Athera, from the Dwarf Kingdom of Urguan to the Elves of the State of Laureh'lin all the way down to Vanderfall, Gorlan has been everywhere.  He soon discovered his father’s lessons make him an instinctive fighter with a farmer’s determination to see everything through. He won’t make a fortune and sometimes he goes cold at night. He’s just living life on the road driven against his will to find the peace his father is looking for  always trying to find some answers, perhaps his quest will end soon…...

Personality Traits: Cautious, funny, loving, loyal, faithful, honourable, short tempered, cultured and determined.

Ambitions:  To pay his father’s debt and to settle down somewhere permanent

Strengths/Talents: Archery, Cultural acceptance, knife combat and horse riding

Weaknesses/Inabilities: When he is told he fails he gets very angry very quickly. Whenever somebody mentions his father in a bad way or mocks his dad swords are instantly drawn. When he has no contact from different races it can make him fell solitary and alone.

Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): 5ft 8 and 90kg. With a scar across his cheek he carries before learning to trust his instincts in the first of his many fights
