The Life of Ilum Letholdus (Part 1)-
When Ilum first entered into this world it was in the hectic and conflict filled Fringe. The realm of man saw many casualties as they battled the orcish hordes and dwarven armies. It was during this time that Magnus Letholdus found himself often venturing into the local tavern of Vekaro to let out some anger. He lost many comrades during these seemingly endless days causing him to vent his anger... sexually.

Often bedding the tavern waitresses he eventually found himself in awe as to hear that he was to have a son with one of these wenches. Magnus was joyful that he was to have a son but angry at the wench who was to give birth to him. The tavern wench wanted Magnus to have nothing to do with her or the son and hid away with her family. Because of this Magnus spent long hours and money searching for this woman and his son. Finally one of his comrades of Mount Augustus heard news of the wench and where she was hiding.

He had been holding back his anger for sometime so he rashly ran out of the mountain to the basement where she hid. Upon entering the house he slashed at the man who opened the door, most likely her father, who fell to the ground in anguish. Magnus ran down into the basement where he saw his son lying in the arms of his mother. He immediately lashed out at her slitting her throat as the blood poured down onto her silent child. The young boy awoke, laying in his mothers arm silently as his blood covered father lifted him up. Magnus whispered to him as he swayed him back and forth in his arms “Let us go little... Ilum,” he nodded as to agree with his choice of name as he made his way back to the mountain that would be Ilum’s home.
