History of the Kharajyr
Here is an overview of the history of the kharajyr and their settlements. If you find anything that is incorrect please either comment here or pm me so that I can fix it. This is constantly being updated with events and things that happen.

Creation

Spanning generations, the history of Asulon and Aegis is catalogued in ancient tomes and holy texts throughout the lands, the knowledge tightly guarded by religious priesthoods and avid collectors alike. However, the tale of the Kharajyr is one not written in any ancient tome; It is a tale unknown to all, save for a few privileged scholars, denounced as madmen.

In the dark times, during the worlds infancy, when Aenguls and Daemons roamed freely; in a time of myth and legend; in a time that few believe ever existed, there was an old wives tale, told between the ancient settlements, of a particular Daemon – a Daemon with an affinity for stealing babies in the night, leaving no trace of its coming. The tale was widespread across the land in the wake of a wave of unexplained infant disappearances. There were those who debunked the rumour as fear mongering and heresy. What no one knew, however, was the truth. Under the cover of the stars, the Daemon Metztli would visit lonely farmsteads, driven by the scent of an infant’s blood, and in the depths of the night, steal the infants from the safety of their cribs. In the wake of several “accidents” surrounding the disappearances, it was said that Metztli’s form was so beautiful, that those adults who looked upon her form would be driven mad and tear their own eyes from their sockets. Through fear of the truth, the village elders would often attribute this phenomenon to the intense grief the parents’ experienced rather than anything otherworldly.

The truth behind the child disappearances does not end with Metztli however, and the aftermath of the abductions only becomes more chilling. The children were taken far away, to an undiscovered land in the mists of the oceans. This island was of untold beauty, giving life to many varieties of flora and fauna not yet discovered by the rest of the world. This paradise was of Metztli’s own creation, and all that was missing was her master race. The ocelots that called the island their home were taken by Metztli, and in a series of horrifying, magic infused experiments, their blood was combined with that of the infants. After generations of perfecting and tweaking and after hundreds of hideous failures were discarded into the ocean, Metztli at last created a single white humanoid ocelot. This was the first of the Kharajyr – of the purest descent. Instantly after beholding her new creation Metztli was filled with the love of a mother – she had at last succeeded in creating a race she deemed to be perfection. Desperately Metztli attempted to replicate her creation, but could never achieve the same level of beauty of her first creation. Nonetheless, she embraced her new creations, the Kharajyr race, with all the love a mother could muster. After nurturing her children to a state of maturity she decided, as any caring mother would, that her time had come to leave her creations to their own devices, to stop nurturing them and to depart the island paradise.

Metztli’s true intentions for the creation of the Kharajyr were never revealed. It has been speculated that she wished to recreate the form of a creature she once fell in love with, but who was stolen away from her. Others say that she wished to bestow the world with a race of sentient beings, created in her own image. Still others suggest that Metztli wished only to play God and nurture other living beings.

Generations passed and the Kharajyr thrived in their jungle paradise. Yet Metztli felt neglected by her children and wished for them to show their gratitude. Feeling pity towards them she gifted them signs, wishing to guide them in the knowledge of their own creation. These signs were unravelled and interpreted by the Kharajyr sages, and her people accepted her as their creator and divine ruler, constructing great Temples in her name and sparking the order of Priests and Priestesses, devoted to her worship.

Yet relatively recently, the last Emperor, Xerdun's father, deemed his dominance to be absolute and he refused to bow before any deity, believing himself greater even than a Daemon. His laziness and arrogance drove his Metz’al Natayshi, the only remaining Kharajyr sage, away from her own people and was ultimately to be the downfall of the Khalenwyr Empire. Despite the Emperor’s assassination by his son, Metztli chose to teach her creations a harsh lesson. Unbeknownst to the Kharajyr, the mountain around which their capital city had been constructed was a dormant volcano. In a torrent of fire and molten mud, the civilisation was all but buried and the Kharajyr desperately scrambled to their ships. Fleeing their homes with what little they could salvage the Kharajyr set sail West, to the land of Asulon, the knowledge of their Goddess firmly ingrained into their hearts once more. Under the new Emperor's leadership, so as to avoid similar disasters Metztli, religious sacrifice and ceremony is to become an integral part of society once again. The latest Emperor, Tla' Xerdun, views the volcano as a personal warning to him to not follow in his father's footsteps...

Asulon

Va’khajra

A Kha' name of Miian was kidnapped in the 'Mainland' by unknown force to the Kharajyr. Tla'Xerdun brings all Kharajyr that can fight, sealed to the location to where the kidnappers were. When the Kharajyr finally arrived, wandering the lands of unknown they encountered the first creatures of the mainland. The Orcs, they made a deal for a fight and sadly the Kharajyr lost. Tla'Xerdun had to make a deal with the Orcs to prevent Kharajyr death but could not find a way to take Miian along with them, it was a term which no Kha knew of.

After months, scouts of Kharajyr were sent to mainland to search for more answers on these new creatures and the Kharajyr reacted violently because of the other races reactions towards Kharajyr. It was by now that the Kharajyr Empire was fully constructed and the Karakatuan Empire would rise to glory..

Slowly the numbers of Kharajyr decreased after Tla'Xerdun’s self inflicted death.  A few Kharajyr lost faith, died or just simply went missing after this happened. After a short period of being leaderless their goddess Metztli had stepped in, and from the supposed moon-lit heavens above bestowed her perfect white fur upon a new emperor.   An unexpecting Tigrasi, Tiazar had been chosen to be the next Tlantanni, numbers still decrease and the Kharajyr were threatened by Dwarves, Elves and Orcs. Kharajyr continue their annoyance and violence towards the races, until the orcs decided to strike due to the Kharajyr not being loyal and carrying out the terms the had once agreed under Tla’Xerdun’s reign. From small parties trying to take on the Kharajyr, Kharajyr were successful twice. But the final blow was coming, and Kharajyr scouts sent warning that the Orcs were about to release a full on strike at the Kharajyr whilst they were weak. Tla'Tiazar order to all of the Kharajyr to leave the island in fear of Metztli’s children being slaughtered.  Only a small number of the Kharajyr survived and soon took sheltered with the High Elves of Haelun’Or whom respected Tla'Tiazar highly for granting them insight to knowledge about the sacred Blood Moon’s that Metztli showed her people.  Va'Khajra was left in ruins, and the Orcs now had complete control of it.. They call it 'The fall of Va'Khajra and Karakatuan Empire' this was around about year 48, but the date is almost forgotten.

As the Kharajyr settled once again to their island, Tla'Xerdun set every Kharajyr jobs to build up the empire. The Island was plain, lifeless and first thing everyone did was supplying. Va'Khajra was formed, a small village on part of island with the forming temple and palace, sadly they were not alone as they thought.

Val’Korsa

Once Va’Khajra had fallen some of the Kharajyr began to question their faith, for they were not really sure if Metztli was still with them.  How could their goddess have let their island paradise be taken from them, why hadn’t she done anything.  Whilst that remained a mystery, many Kharajyr had began to wander aimlessly through the mainlands of Asulon, their faith for Metztli diminished.  Through desperation some of them integrated within other cultures, mainly human cultures, and these Kharajyr were looked down upon and called the ‘Ape Kha’ by the still loyal Kharajyr.  Though Tla’Tiazar held his head high and proud, making a call to arms for any Kharajyr still loyal to Metztli and the Karakatuan Empire to assemble upon the island nation of Holm.  A good few gathered, all suited for battle that was supposedly to come.  They swiftly charged upon and conquered a new island North of Holm, and island that they would build their new home upon, an island they named Val’Korsa.

Xer’Tlaasu

Things started out as expected, gathering materials and living in tents, slowly beginning to construct a new temple to their goddess Metztli and to create some new housing for them to thrive in, far away from the other races.  Though things did not go as planned even those that claimed loyal still had a lack in faith, and were not nearly as motivated as what was needed to make this work.  With no effort being given from his people Tla’Tiazar began to lose faith himself, and so he prayed to the goddess.  He told her that he could not do it anymore, that he could not be her Tlatlanni.  Metztli once again chose a new Tlatlanni for her people, though this one was much, much younger.  A Kharajyr by the name of Morthawl was blessed as the goddess’s new emperor and soon inherited her white, divine fur.  Many of the still loyal Kharajyr questioned this, however trusted in their creator’s judgement.

The new Tla’Morthawl begin to act fast and sought out old allies Tiazar had once mentioned.  The Mori’Quessir.  The home race of the Mori were the most unsuspecting of allies, though were the most hospitable out of any of the other races, to date.  One of the high priestesses their had worked together with the druidic order and grew them a new jungle in the caverns of Menorcress.  The still loyal followers of Metztli were unsure about this cavern jungle home, but Morthawl tried to assure them that Metztli was still with them and no harm would come to them here. Now there were no more remaining Aelkos, none to lead them but the Tlatlanni alone, and so Morthawl decided it was time to have two new Aelkos rise up.  From there life progressed in a positive manner, though the new young and naive Tlatlanni had a lot more contact from the other races.  The remaining Ja’ were sent out into the open lands in search of the abandoning Ape Kharajyr, in attempts to hunt them down and convert them back into the path of Metztli.  They were quite successful, and soon entire ape prides began to return to their new city.  This city was named Xer’Tlaasu

Though times of peace did not last forever, even with their treaty which formed an alliance between the Dwarves, the Elves, the Mori’Quessir and the island nation of Holm.  Disaster began to hit Asulon and suddenly the Kharajyr were being beckoned by the Monks of the Wilven sanctuary to follow them to a new land.  This all happened so fast and whilst the Kharajyr frowned upon the Monk’s faith and found it disgusting, they would not be left behind in this doomed land.  The Kharajyr now venture to their new island paradise that awaits them in the lands in Kalos then later Elysium.

Kalosian and Elysian Kharajyr

Upon reaching the two islands,

Kalos and Elysium, the Kha’ were met with opposition immediately. They had to scramble for land, and managed to achieve just that, an encampment made a few miles north of the original docks. This didn’t last long, however, as orcs posed trouble for the Kha’ yet again. They fled from the encampment, and ended up quite a ways west, over the mountains. Then they did what the dwarves do. They burrowed, digging into the mountainside and forming dens inside of the mountain, a small settlement but a settlement nonetheless. This served them well for a time, in fact, the Kharajyr managed to fight off the orcs using ballistae.

However, as is commonplace with the Kharajyr, they did not stay in one place for long. Eventually, they moved back to where they felt most at home: a jungle island, this one part of an island chain known as Kalos. They built up a small town here, and at this time, Sahra, the Tlatlanni’s metz’al, brought into the world two white cubs: Vyallu and Rynsuho. There was much rejoicing, but again, it could not last. The orcs came, storming that land and razing everything, flames going up everywhere. Fatalities were high in number, and shame much higher at the Monk resurrection camp among the Kha’.

These lands did not last as long as Asulon did, before long, storms chased the people from Kalos and Elysium, to a new world known as Anthos.

Anthos

Karakatua

Upon finally reaching the land known as Anthos. The kharajyr quickly scrambled to another island paradise, known as the island of karakatua. A few years past and the land had been occupied by some Kharajyr for ages: they had constructed a mighty citadel and only had to wait for the rest of the Kha’ to arrive. And arrive they did, to a new island, and new empire: Karaktua. Upon their new island, this time, respecting and utilizing the volcano for sacrifices rather than fearing and avoiding it, the Kharajyr thrived. They had much better protection, for war machines could not mount the sand outside their walls without sliding, and ballistae could be seen in various places. It was in this place that the new age of priests came about as well: a magical resurrection, the ancient Sage Natayshi teaching the Priestess Ja’Sahra and the Priest Ja’Dato the ancient ways: Muun’Trivazja. They would go on to teach more students, and thus the revival of the ways of the ancient Kharajyr. For a while the kharajyr thrived on their island, staying away from most wars and dangers. Though the fall of Karakatua was near. Sage Natayshi was moongazing one evening and to her horror she was granted a vision, but not a good one. She saw a blue armoured finger passing to the great and holy stone of Metztli then later she saw the great and holy stone explode! This caused fear for all kharajyr still loyal to Metztli. Tla’ Morthawl and Sage Natayshi ordered the evacuation of Karakatua, packing the fleet to the brim with supplies and personal items for their new home.

Gronkkston

The fleet of the kharajyr had no choice but to head to the mainland, but to their rejoice the orcs took them in with open arms. Rex Gronkk and the Krughai council granted the group of kharajyr to build and set up a camp just outside of Gronkkston. They tended to the fields and once again thrived in the camp. But the kharajyr and other races were taken through a gateway known as the Fringe. Soon a mighty battle arose in the fringe which resulted in the death of Setherien. The death of Setherien caused the frozen north to melt, which in turn, began to flood Anthos. The Fringe now their only hope of survival.

The Fringe

Tahn’Siol
After much time spent in the camp the kharajyr were beckoned to follow the races through a gateway, known as The Fringe, but then became trapped with the other races after Anthos had flooded. Though this was not like Karakatua or their past homes, for this was more of a giant field to them. Tla’ Morthawl lead the small group of kharajyr that had survived Karakatua and the Scourge.

Tla’ Morthawl pleaded the high elves to take in the small band of survivors, and as great allies they did. They established a small camp and overlook on top of a hill in Tahn’Siol. But it wasn't long until war broke out which the kharajyr were brought into. Many died in the war but they were victorious in their eyes. Soon, portals began to open around The Fringe. Tla’ Morthawl lead a band of kha through the portal along with the other races. These portals took them to The Red realm. A mighty battle arose which lasted many moons but ended in the fall of the Red realm. Soon a great drought began which made the kharajyr and the races flee through another portal to a land known as Thales.

Thales

Karak’Tuum

"Yawr Rameethar has gawn on a journey tu anuthawr lawnd. The Clerics seek awt a portawl tu thaw saym land. Yu must nawt gu: eet ees lin'cat, cursed."

Instead of listening, the Kha' attacked. One even swung for the robed figure, yet the blade passed straight through him. With that, a massive pillar of light shot up into the sky, illuminating for miles around. When the light faded, not seconds later, the Kha' was gone, only the smell of ozone remaining, and an electrifying presence in the air. And with that the kharajyr seeked out the port of Tuv’Aviv to construct a boat with the other races. They escaped but at a cost. There was a mighty battle which Gazardiel tried to stop everybody going to the new land. Gazardiel defeated…

After having fled to Thales, the High Elves granted the kharajyr permission to build another encampment, this time out of their walls. A band of kharajyr builders formed together commanded by Yhl’Zeriko. Walls were created, huts were built and a mighty tomb was constructed. Karak’Tuum was built. Karak’Tuum managed to avoid any and all wars in Thales. It was a peaceful time for the kharajyr, a part from a few raids which, in turn, all failed. Ja’Sahra and a small band of kharajyr moongazed into the future of Thales. They saw that Thales had no future a part from frost and snow and they knew they must escape to a knew land. There was a being that came to Karak’Tuum. This being was a white kharajyr in golden blue robes, not one of Tlatlanni Morthawls kin. He called himself Gazardiel. He knew the names of the Kha' gathered, knew their ancient language, knew even their magic, dueling Natayshi in a bout of flames. He had one warning...

Athera

Ohlokhar
After sailing to the new land the kharajyr quickly scrambled to another island paradise. This island was not as heavenly as Karakatua, but it would do. There were many expeditions exploring the canyons in fear the flood after Setherien was defeated. Upon exploring them Yhl’Zeriko and a small ban of kharajyr found a old altar of a Sun god. Heresy. Yhl’Zeriko touched this altar and was instantly turned insane with messages relating to a sun god. Yhl’Zeriko was exiled upon many attempts at creating sun god structures. Sage Natayshi had a vision which wasn't that pleasant. The vision uncovered a sun god by the name of Absyyl. Then soon after this Natayshi had a vision of the eye of Absyyl turning into the eye of Iblees. Though this knowledge was withheld as she disappeared to a creature and through a portal. Soon the orcs were at it again and invaded Ohlokhar, causing the kharajyr to flee again. They fled to the high elven plateau. They stored their things there when suddenly Ohlokhar blew up into shards of what it once was. The kharajyr had no home… for now. Meanwhile in the high elven city a large portal opened above it, Sage Natayshi falling down from it, she had returned. Moons later a small floating island erupted at the city. This took them to a city known as The Ordium. The Ordium helled many remains of kharajyr, these kharajyr had attempted to mess with time. They fixed the Ordium and swiftly departed.

The Ordium

In the ruins of Ohlokhar a familiar city erupted from the ground and into the sky, it was The Ordium. This was a beacon of hope for the kharajyr as they moved back into the floating temple. Once again did the kharajyr thrive. But as this happened Tlatlanni Morthawl could not carry the burden anymore and killed himself in the tomb of the great stone of Metztli. Tlatlanni Vyallu was now to lead. Though with Tlatlanni Vyallus new lead, a small group of Va’Khajra had formed and rebelled againsts Tlatlanni Vyallu and a war had started. The leader of this group was daro, son of dato. He was not like his other peaceful family members, he was a brute. They held a camp in the mountains of Fiandria claiming Fiandria as their hunting grounds. Soon Tlatlanni Vyallu had also commit suicide and joins her father in the stars. It was not long until war came to The Ordium was a warband began an assault on the Holy Temple. The warband retreated as the Kharajyr defended under the command of the newly chosen Tlatlanni daro. Though they did not retreat because of the kharajyr. Oren had come to their aid and chased the warbands away. But this wasn't a victory because once the warband was chased away, Oren had turned and began firing trebuchets at the holy temples crystal which kept it afloat. The Ordium had fallen on that day. Though as this happened a piercing screech was heard in the mind of those who possessed deity magics. “The prison is breached. The mother abandons us.” After the battle daro had gone into hiding, it is unknown if he is dead or alive. Creatures of Metztli begin to appear out of rifts - The failed experiments of Metztli. After the death of her family Ja’Sahra also commits suicide and joins them.
