Personality: Sofie takes great pride in her identity as a businesswoman. She isn't a lover or a fighter - she's a moneymaker. Sofie loves money and all the benefits that come with it. She's a great fan of easy living. While she loves the high life, though, Sofie is not afraid of hard work. In fact, she loves the feeling of hard work. Sofie will put her nose to the grindstone and work her fingers raw to get the results she wants. She is determined, persistent, and willing to push herself extremely hard if the end results are worth the effort. Sofie is a firm believer that you need to get out there and earn your happy ending.

 

Sofie's trouble, though, is that she often works hard to the exclusion of everything else. She pays very little attention to friendships or relationships. She does value her friends, but she will often go years without talking to them. While Sofie works hard at her jobs, her attitude toward other people is very lax. She doesn't expend a lot of effort to maintain personal connections. As for romance, Sofie is completely uninterested. She views relationships more as business proposals and not necessarily as ends in themselves. She rarely makes friends just for the sake of having friends.

 

But Sofie is not cold or calculating. On the contrary, she is a boisterous, outgoing woman who laughs easily. She loves a good drink after a hard day's work.

History

 

Sofie was born on the surface. She has few, if any, ties to any Dwarven clans. Her parents were dwarven expatriates who left their home kingdom for a life under the sun. Sofie's father ran an authentic dwarven tavern while her mother worked as a cook. Sofie had a normal upbringing. Both her parents loved her very much. As a young woman, she worked as a waitress in her parents' tavern. She learned to sew from her mother and soon turned it into a profitable skill.

 

After moving out of her parents' home, Sofie wandered the land for a time plying her trade. She eventually settled outside Karovia, where she opened a small tailoring shop. Her tailoring business was a rousing success among the Oren nobility, who admired her for her expert craftsmanship, quality materials, and attention to detail. Sofie made a handsome living off of her tailoring.

 

However, due to the immense number of orders she regularly received, Sofie was forced to close down her shop. She pushed herself too hard and eventually hit her breaking point. After collapsing in exhaustion while she worked on an order, Sofie concluded that she needed to take a break.

 

It was around this time that she contacted Lord Oathcast of the dwarves to discuss opening an authentic dwarven brewery - much like the one her father ran. Oathcast agreed to fund her venture. And so Skycastle Brewery was born. Sofie's brewery is still just starting out, but it has had a promising beginning.
