Mosue 70 Share Posted May 23, 2015 Eraynion Taloha sits crisscrossed, alone, with eyes closed and hands together. He’s meditating in a world devoid of light... void. In front of him is a yellow-stained glass sphere. Three smaller spheres orbit the yellow one ever so slowly. These four objects are all that Ray can feel. The three smaller spheres each have their own colors: orange, green, and blue. Ray sets his minute focus on the blue one as it nears him. Upon closer inspection, the sphere has charcoal lines drawn on it. Every line seems to vary in length and shape, never ending, always connecting; never horizontal to other lines, always parallel. In some areas, the lines draw nearer. In others, significant spacing occurs between lines. Drip. A water droplet splashes into the void fibers in front of Ray. The energy scatters across the fibers; acting as if it were water, creating waves. The waves collide with Ray. His eyes snap open, drawing him back into reality. “It’s raining,” he mutters. The sounds of heavy rainfall are slipping through the marble walls. “Any luck?” asks Ereinion, who sits on the stairs overlooking the room. “No,” says Ray with a sigh. He gathers to a stand and steps over to the rotating spheres. He sets his hand on the unmoving yellow sphere. Rei pushes off the staircase and drops to the ground. The wooden floor squeaks on impact. “The creator of these spheres is long dead,” says Rei as he walks around the room, “We’ve been here for two Elven days and have found nothing about these spheres.. besides dried blood at the tower’s top.” “You suggest we leave,” Ray says, turning to his brother. “I do,” responds Rei, he pauses, “I do not trust Sevilo to keep order… efficiently.” “He’s older than us.” “No matter.” Rei grabs his satchel and sling it over his shoulder. Outside, the rain begins to lighten. Ray lets out a long sigh. His brother stands at the building’s threshold, waiting. “Fine,” grumbles Ray. His eyes return to the yellow sphere. A ray of sunlight pierces through a crack in the wall. It illuminates the orb. Ray’s eyes widen. Inside the orb is a smaller orb. A light bulb. “Brother.” “What?” Rei looks back. They both stand in bewilderment of the glowing yellow orb. In unison they utter, “The sun.”

El Ricktador 1394 Share Posted May 26, 2015 The Warhawke Chieftains lie in bed within their respective rooms, their lapis axes and traveling gear put to rest on the floors. Ereinion gazes up at the stone ceiling of his room, wrapped entirely within the thick wool sheets, the trek to the snowy lands north-east of Petrus had been a physically taxing one. One last shiver, and he closes his eyes falling asleep to the memory of discovering the secrets within the fallen rock. The Warhawkian brothers arrived at the rock, it still burned when they’d come across it. The surrounding wildlife stayed quite a fair distance from it, terrified of its presence within their homes. Ereinion’s eyes had widened immediately at the sight of the rock, it was like the stories their father had told them. “Is it-” “No,” his brother Ray said, interrupting him. “Father spoke of these,” Rei says quickly, his hands coming out of his jacket’s pockets and jabbing a finger excitedly towards the meteor. “Do you remember, brother?” Eraynion did not speak, he got to work, he went around to the other side of the rock and began to analyze every crevice of it. If anyone could understand the rock, it was Ray. He was brilliant, and perhaps the most intelligent within the Warhawkes. While Ereinion stood on top of the now warm rock, Ray worked behind it. Eventually, Rei quit his part of the effort. He was neither a miner or a scientist, he stepped aside for his brother to continue his work. He sat and waited, never taking his eyes off the rock. It came to no surprise to him that his brother eventually procured a few rare gems from the meteor. Of course it didn’t come without his fair share of fumbling about with his chisel and striking away with his pick. “Brother!” Ray spurted out excitedly. Rei perked up instantly, leaping towards his brother who held two medium-sized coal stones. Ray had sliced a chip off of one of them, revealing a sparkling inner stone behind the coal crust that had formed. Together, they brought the two stones to the snow and cleaned them off methodically. They worked carefully but efficiently, making sure to not harm the gems within. The brothers remain at the site for a few more hours, staying long enough to even watch as the morning sun began to rise. They searched all over for more of the gems but came up with nothing. Eventually, Ereinion calls to his brother and ends the search. They’d dug the meteor out to almost its bare shell, and searched the surrounding area. They found nothing. Only what Ray had initially found. Ecstatic with their findings, they left the site. They were careful to not leave tracks, they took several detours until they eventually found themselves to their home of Ker’nor, pleased with knowing they could not have been followed. Ereinion went to sleep, but his brother remained wide awake. His coming job would be no easy feat. He was going to study the material, and see if he could come to a discovery of its origin. Eraynion found solace in knowing the expedition was over. He had no clue what lay ahead of him. He can hear his brother falling back onto his bed with a loud thud. Eraynion closes his eyes. He could always start tomorrow. OOC The Warhawke Tribe lore is found here. Any questions regarding the Warhawkes interest in meteors and astronomy can be answered within the Origins section, I believe. Just wanted to mention that this, previous and upcoming posts in this thread will tend to be OOC reading material unless specifically stated that they were witnessed by people, or you saw us roleplaying these things out in-game. Also, we won't be using these to create super, tech space gear. So no PG here ^_^
