Character's name: Erik "Raven" Khoen

Biography: Erik was born in a small Orenian village in 1484, to Gaal and Vivi Khoen. His brother Izak was later born in 1490. The Khoen family is a very well known line of warriors, dating back to long before the Great War. Though they are far from nobles, the Khoen family is still honored and revered. As a child, Erik's father had taken every opportunity to teach him in the way of the sword, by the age of 11, Erik had become a child prodigy, and could best most of the local swordsmen in a duel. Erik often made proclamations of being the greatest swordsman in the world, and his father was immensely proud of him.

Erik's life went downhill in 1498, when the Humans went to war with the High Elves. Near the start of the war, Erik and his brother had left for school, like any morning. As they returned to their neighborhood, the noticed the eerie quietness of their part of town; no one could be seen. The two returned to their home, and upon opening the door, found blood spattered walls, and their parents on the ground. As Izak burst into tears, Erik ran to his father and mother. As he held them in his arms, his mother explained what happened; the High Elves attacked the town and slaughtered everyone in it. Erik desperately tried to save them, but to no avail. As his parents drew their last breaths, he swore he would avenge them, and he swore to his father, that he would carry on his family legacy, and become the greatest swordsman in the world. Immediately after, Erik and Izak became the last of their family.

The two left their home, fearing for their safety, and wandered Athera for nearly two years. In those two years, Erik honed various survival and combat skills, as he had to defend his brother and himself from beasts, murderers, and thieves on multiple occasions. In 1500, the two returned to Oren. Izak moved to Petrus with his new wife, and Erik, having no more bonds to anyone, was free to pursue the art of the blade. Erik had spent all his free time training and fighting, and was making his goals more and more realistic. He had become one of the cities top fighters, and had earned a notorious reputation as a swordsman. Locals called him "The Raven", for the Raven symbolizes grief and loss, both of which are principles of Eriks existence. Warriors came from all over to challenge "The Raven", and still Erik's win/loss ratio was hugely impressive.

He proceeded to challenge more and more powerful opponents, and as he lost more and more, he had an understanding of how big this world was, and how he couldn't think he was the best... just yet. Erik forged his own blade; a Greatsword called Gaal and a Longsword called Vivi. Then he left Oren to travel the world, to avenge his parents, and to become the best.

Personality Traits: Erik is extremely ambitious and optimistic. He has a generally positive demeanor, although he is very easily angered, especially if his family is brought up. Erik is rather arrogant, as he often believes himself to be one of the best swordsmen. He is also extremely prideful, and especially about his family name. He is extremely honorable, and treats all his opponents with respect. Erik refuses to resort to any form of cheating or lying to get his way, especially in battle. Erik also has an unquenchable grudge towards anyone of the High Elves, for them killing his family and friends as a child, and in fact hates all Elven people.

Ambitions: As a child, Erik promised his dying father that he would grow up to be the greatest swordsman in the world. He also has a burning desire to avenge his family and friends, and enacts that desire upon anyone of the Elven race.

Strengths/Talents: Erik is an exceptionally talented sword fighter, and is well known for his prowess with a blade. Erik is also revered for his knowledge of battle, and combat strategy. Erik has extremely long legs, which he uses to an immense advantage in battle. He's also double jointed.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: As Erik aspires to be the worlds greatest swordsman, he refuses to carry a shield, which makes ranged weapons and projectiles his greatest weaknesses. He is also deathly afraid of insects.

Appearance: Erik is 6'3" and 184lbs. He is extremely muscular, which allows him to wield heavy weapons with ease. He carries a Greatsword on his back, and a Longsword at his hip.
