Reckless Banzai Screamer 15456 Share Posted August 23, 2015 SPLAT. A stray stone fired by the trebuchets behind came down, crushing one of the combat engineers running towards Castle Barrowyck. Armed with mere planks of wood, a sect of the artillery squad Baudric respectably nicknamed 'Squad Three' was called upon to plank the pits before the infantry and siege tower were to advance. Nafis was unable to tell who it was that died, whether they were Lucienist, Kaedreni, or Khalestinian. Turning around meant catching an arrow to the back. Will as hard as a diamond. Nafis held his shield over the side with his scarred eye where he had trouble seeing with since he narrowly met his end at the last battle. A reminder of his survival. Men fell all around Nafis catching arrows, their bodies falling limp upon the ground. The young Qalasheen man covered the holes in the ground with a solid plank of wood, making sure not to spend too much time at either else becoming an easy target. One pit. Two pit. Three pit. Upon running out of supplies, Nafis covers his back as he makes a break back to the siege camp. But a sudden crash was heard and the earth shook under him. A mere second after, Nafis was flung into the air like a ragdoll before falling into one of the uncovered pits. In midair, something along the lines of his friend Pyotr Nicodemus' haunting words echoed in his head. "I like you guys, but you're going to end up dead in a ditch wearing that tabard." As the fighting came to an end with stragglers executed, Morgan Diggory extends his hand out to a dazed Nafis Yar, helping him out of the ditch.
