Imam Faiz Kharadeen 3167 Share Posted September 5, 2015 (edited) The day was beautiful, the sun shone and washed over the skins of many within Khalestine. Qalasheen, humans, elves and kharajyr, the sun welcomed them all in a peaceful blaze of compassion."I suppose it is time to speak for once, I have left my people in the dark for quite some time while idly signing this and that." he looks to the Mesakha, nodding towards him as he returns the nod back, preparing a podium atop the main gatehouse of the palace. The bells then began to ring its melodic tune, the tune that symbolizes all to come to the palace. Soon, hundreds arrive towards the palace, then thousands, and before you know it the whole area is filled with onlookers, curious to see what the speech is about. The Caliph, Faiz Kharadeen, casually strides the walkway atop the palace, looking down to his right to all those that came to hear him speak. He smiles kindly towards his people, very proud to have them live in the happiness and peace they so deserved. He could see his peaceful qalasheen standing humbly within the crowd, the pious lucienists standing proud and in unison, the honorable highlander folk with their stern expressions, the happy and elegant elves of Malin that stare and listen with respect, the easterners who await quietly and respectably, the diverse and well cared for citizens of Sutica, the energetic and carefree dwedmar laughing and having a go at each other, and the respectable and noble kharajyr that scatter in many within the crowd. He could also see the obvious many travelers that hail from other nations, from those within Oren to the Iron Uzg, and any other nations or guild they may come from. Faiz finally reaches the podium and looks outwards towards all those gathered up, he was infact surprised this many people came to hear a speech, but then again he supposes it is due to them wanting to hear about the many recent events. He takes a quick sip of water before beginning his long speech. "As-salaam alaikum, my people. It has been quite some time that I gave a speech like this, it is good to know you are all doing well with what goes on in these current years of rebuilding. Today, I wish to clarify on the happenings of late, that being in regards to the defensive alliance with Urguan, the treaty of the south, and the recent butchery that had undergone within the throne-room in my absence. So let us begin then, shall we?Let me clarify the defensive alliance with the Grand Kingdom of Urguan. This alliance was not made because of fear for our nations being conquested by a foreign force, but made because of our outstandingly long and hospitable relations we have had. For too long have the dwedmar been kind and fair to us, and to them we return such kindness. They are our respectable neighbors, and we are theirs. We wish to ensure the everlasting prosperity between our two great nations via trade, free access, and defense. May Allah ensure that peace and prosperity continues to reign over both our nations."Faiz takes a little sip from some water to clear his throat, raising his hand to simmer down the crowd."Now, in regards to the recent treaty that has made its publicity known to all, there are many things to clarify that has not been amended onto the treaty itself. To begin with, this is not an offensive alliance, we are not marching forward upon other nations for conquest and destruction. Such things are against the Creator's will, and I will not follow it. But, if you wish to know why this treaty of defense was established in the first place, I will freely tell you all. About some time ago, scouts have seen a fleet of ships dock near the once happy and bountiful halfling shire, they stayed around for quite sometime to figure out what was going on. In the end, they have reported that the Church of Canon has occupied the land mass and has begun to build up encampments and fortresses. The reason why they would sail south from Oren onto our southern continent without a single word to anyone only provides fear and paranoia upon us all, and in return for such an arrival we have devised a defensive treaty to ensure the safety of our realms. I will say this now, and will continue to say this throughout my life... This treaty is /NOT/ an offensive treaty, this is nothing like the krughanistan Bloc of the fringe where they antagonized Oren into warfare, we have no hostilities with the Kingdom of Oren and hope for such to continue. Let you all remember that we aided them in their desperate time of war, and they have thanked us appropriately for such((there were no thank yous >:( ))). And yes, I understand many of you have been having concerns with the recent trouble making attempts of the Order of Saint Amyas, but you must remember that these men do not represent Oren in its entirety. While Amyas contains brigands, Oren in itself is still full of chivalrous, kind and honorable men and women. Do not let the faults of one small group cloud your judgement over the majority. Our relations with Oren is very positive, I assure you all. I do know, however, that this treaty has brought upon them a sort of paranoia as well, the same we have felt with the Church of Canon settling within the south and to that, to any Orenians that stand within the crowd I ask you to relay this message to all within the lands of Oren. . . I give you my word as the Creator bears witness that I will not bring any harm to your people, your livelihoods, and to your lands. I only wish to aid you all in your times of rebuilding, so that peace and prosperity may also reign once more within Oren. This treaty is of defense only, that of course has unlisted terms in regards to acts of aggression pushed by other nations. For instance, if we see a nation within the treaty that antagonizes any other foreign nation in hopes that that foreign nation will march down to their lands to force us to aid our so called 'ally', we are not obligated to aid. If a member of the treaty pushes for an offensive war against a foreign nation, we are also not obligated to aid. I will not be one to become an aggressor against any Nation, unless it is ultimately necessary to ensure the protection and longevity of Khalestine. Let it also be known that there is no so called 'leader' of this treaty. This is not some sort of newly founded grand nation with one man to rule us all, the position of Chancellor that you all have read is a mere position meant for mediation of meetings, incase of internal aggression's were to happen. I am still your Caliph, and will stay as such until my death." Faiz lets out a little sigh as he finally finishes that one, overlooking the crowd once more before continuing on. "And now in regards to the security of Khalestine and all its subjects. Those that are known through slang as 'degenerates' are no longer allowed within our nation, if seen they are to be arrested and killed for their heretical ways. I refer to most specifically cultists, dread knights, frost witches, spawns of iblees and those that dare curse our Holy Creator's name. Those that dare speak ill of Allah will suffer His wrath dealt by our hands. Those that dare step foot within our lands that intend to bring their law defying ways will be dealt with appropriately. Those that are shunned out of Khalestine by the majority should know not to return again unless they wish to feel the wrath of her military and citizens. But remember this, my people, that everyone has a chance for redemption, and Allah is the most merciful and most giving. In time, many that deal in the ways of evil will look against what they have done and will seek salvation, they will seek redemption and forgiveness. They will remember His name and beg for it, and will set themselves upon the path of righteousness. Do not interfere with their path if they seek a life of goodwill, do not halt them of their progress and do not bring up their past actions for something they may truly regret doing. You will only steer them back into the direction of evil if you do so, and Allah will know, for He is the all-knowing.Strike down those of a tainted heart, strike down those that harm the innocent, strike down those that curse our Lord's name. The Creator watches over all of you, never forget that.""Walaikum salam, my people. Soon, our nation will hit its golden age and all will benefit from it." The Caliph steps down from his podium, his speech finished as he walks back into the palace slowly, rather tired from all that talking. Regardless, he enters his little office and begins writing and signing many things to continue paving the road for Khalestine to enter a golden age. tl;dr - we're super cute butt buddies with dwarves, the treaty is a defensive pact with talk about some unlisted terms, and DEATH TO THE DEGENERATES! Sujamma Addict 514 Share Posted September 5, 2015 A few feet away from the Caliph stood his eldest son, Arlen Kharadeen wearing a traditional Qalisheen robe, his eyes fixed on the large congregation below. While listening to his aging father's speech, he noticed the white and red adorned on the tabards of the Order of St. Lucien. "Apple pie." he smirks. https://img.4plebs.org/boards/f/image/1410/85/1410852747419.swf
mmat 7460 Share Posted September 5, 2015 Drake sits at his desk and reads the recent records of the speech, giving a sigh and a satisfied nod at its wording. His concerns had been addressed in words. He would view the actions that followed them, in one way or another.
Reckless Banzai Screamer 15456 Share Posted September 6, 2015 Nafis Yar listens patiently to the speech until it concludes. While there was some new clarity brought by recent issues, somethings were left unanswered to the young Qali man."Just this last Saint's Day, the uruks stuck their noses in Khalestine's Law and tried killin' civilians and the Amir. While you, my Caliph, harbor some sort of liking towards those in this treaty - it's most obvious they only hold respect for you and not your people. Do we excuse their behavior towards us simply because it's their nature to act a certain way? We're tolerable, but we do not have to accept uncivilized behavior with the knockin' down of bazaar stalls and shoutin' insults at the folks at home. The Dwed and those affiliated with us such as the Kharajyr I have no issues with befriending. But Nafis Yar does not associate with the dagger ears of snow or **** green skins."Nafis adjusts the cloak he wore around his shoulders, displaying his red and white tabard proudly. "As for what happened in the throne room, I do agree some need second chances. But I see the evil in certain other's eyes. Change is not easy and war has taken its own toll on me. You once claimed that the person we speak of wanted to change - and just a few saint's days before appealing, she tried sodomizin' my mother - forcefully. Even in trial she snickered and snorted like a bat **** crazy witch. So long as I draw breath, that ***** will never be allowed entry into a city for Farfolks or Greater Khalestine."And with that, Nafis turns on heel and departs from the crowd followed by a few of his battle-brothers. He needed time to rest in his home and get away from the swarms of people that were at the speech.
