A Message to Urguan

Fili approaches a crowd of Dwarves, a solemn expression on his worn face. The crowd seems to be filled with commotion, and some sorrow in the wake of the Grand King’s passing. As the aging Grandaxe approaches, the crowd simmers down and listens to what he has to say.

 

“My fellow Dwedmar, I stand before you now in a time of darkness in our Kingdom.” he pauses, building his composure “With the recent passing of our previous king, my friend, we are left leaderless and desolate. Skippy acted nobly by his position, and did well by our people. However, his work is left incomplete with much yet to be done.

 

Many of you know me, and those of you who do not may have heard of me. I am a Dwarf you can trust to see our people through these dark times. I have wrenched the Hammer of Barradin from the clutches of Odnarch. I have fought upon the ramparts of Kal’Agnar as it was sacked by the Undead. I have stood before the Lord’s and Thane’s Council, and destroyed corruption in it’s darkest forms. Now, the Brathmordakin have willed me to stand before my kinsmen today.  

 

It is now I express my intentions to become the next Grand King, successor to Urguan.

 

We are a proud folk, and a mighty nation. It will take the help of each and every one of you to create a world our forefathers can be proud of. We are the descendants of Urguan, the chosen people of Yemaker and the Brathmordakin. We are the children of the stone, sent to hold up our world from ruin. No matter who you choose as the next Grand King, remember that it takes more than one man to build a nation. In the words of Paragon Valen Grandaxe “Stand as one and we are capable of achieving any length of greatness. Stand alone however…. and we will die alone”

 

As the words of the Paragon echo through Kal’Akash, Fili steps down from the incline he stood upon, and enters the crowd to be with his kin.
