Killing Children?

All people die, children die, men and women die- so many people die every day. Being a wuss and saying "This can't happen" won't stop it from happening irl. In stories such as Game of Thrones, you see kids dying, it's apart of the story. The same thing here, with LoTC. I agree with Zip about how it's how you do it exactly that's good or bad. Once, my bandit shanked a kid through the neck with his sword, it was quick and boom, just done. The person didn't even give a crap, most people might be upset they died, but it's not really because their character was a child.

It's because they play to win. 

PS: I'm truthfully exhausted, so this might sound retarded so I'll make a tl;dr.

tl;dr
Stopping child murder in game doesn't somehow make it clear you don't condone it in real life, it just holds back the story for some people. It's not child killing itself, but the way in which you do it. You shouldn't be excessively torturing a little kid, that's one of my personal villainous redlines. However, I wouldn't force this on other people, some characters are horrid individuals with little to no morales who kill anybody they wish.
