The Census of Lorraine, 1533

Issued by his Excellency, Godwine of the House Horen-Maecht, Regent of Lorraine on the 21st of The Grand Harvest, 1533.

CITIZENS OF LORRAINE

The former Duke of Lorraine, Augustus d’Amaury has passed from this realm without issue. With this event his Duchy has been passed to his sister, Her Imperial Majesty, Adelheid of Istria. According to the laws of Imperial succession, this title has been passed on to her husband, the Emperor. His Imperial Majesty has decreed that Lorraine shall be granted to one of his  sons. In order to ensure that Lorraine remains orderly in the interim period, his Imperial Majesty has selected his cousin, Godwine of the House Horen-Maecht to serve as regent of Lorraine.

The new Regent of Lorraine has declared that all citizens of Lorraine must partake in a census. This census will allow the regent to more effectively implement further reforms, which will in turn benefit the citizens of Lorraine. The census form will consist of several questions that will bring light to the citizen’s personal information, such as their name, date of birth and race. It is required that all citizens of Lorraine complete the attached form post-haste.
