What is roleplaying?: Taking on the characteristics of someone you're not, like acting, and speaking in the first person of a fictional character

What is metagaming?: Taking knowledge from the real world and giving it to your character, or making decisions based on knowledge your character doesn't know, like not agreeing to something because you were told ahead of time it was a ploy

What is powergaming?: Forcing actions from yourself onto another, like using exploits and trying to become a character capable of killing without consent

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

 

Character’s name: Tialkar Irongut (I have permission to apply as an Irongut)

Character’s sex: Male

Character’s race: Dwarf

Character’s age: 31

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Fathered by Grungron Irongut himself and living in Kal’Akash with his twin brother, Shorkar, Tialkar always excelled in his studies. His brother Shorkar excelled just as much, but worked significantly less. Tialkar’s jealousy of his brother’s natural gift in all things only grew each day. Nonetheless, he took the high road, and studied nonstop for his entire youth. When he tried to take up the skills involved in hand to hand combat, he failed miserably, because he was too uncoordinated. Eventually he was tinkering around with some random junk he found in his room and realized his greatest gift was in craftsmanship.

    In one of the rare instances when Grungron was home, Tialkar showed his father some of his work and expressed interest in smithing. Grungron convinced Tialkar that smithing would bore him as it was too mundane and suggested another avenue; Runesmithing. Tialkar, finally happy to find a calling, was heartbroken when Shorkar informed him of his intent to become a runesmith too. Grungron had told both sons to become runesmiths, and Tialkar was resolute in becoming the best; or at least better than Shorkar.

Personality Traits: Ambitious, Frank, Noble

Ambitions: Become the Greatest Runesmith of all time no matter the cost, & bring more honor to himself and the Ironguts

Strengths/Talents: Genius Scholar, Memory that borderlines on Eidetic

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Quick to Envy, Little affinity for fighting
