Reckless Banzai Screamer 15456 Share Posted January 24, 2016 Dear Alai, I'm sorry for saying '**** yooooou' to you and your brother. I'm also sorry for rebelling against Caliguan Vanderguan. Please come back to my insurgency compound. I wish to apologize. And I have also baked you a cake. -Nafis The young Emir travels back to Nafis Yar's homestead turned fort. The walls were made of simple slabs of sandstone pile upon one another with protruding spikes and hay bales to build up the wall. Perhaps no one took the rebellion seriously in the first place given the state of the 'fortifications'. "Alai! Rafiqi!" Nafis forces a grin to the young Emir as he calls out to him from the roof of the insurgency compound. "Give me a moment, I'm going to come down there okay? I'm coming down with the cake. You stay right there" "I trust you like a second father, Nafis. I don't want any cake though. I simply wish to speak." "But you love cake, Alai!" Nafis says as he reaches for his arbalest 'Big Papi' left by the staircase. He descends halfway down the flight of stairs as he begins prepping it. "I just want to talk, Nafis. You have sided with the people that hate us and tried to kill my father!" "I know, rafiqi! It was a mistake! I was foolish!" Nafis continues to shout back to Alai. He hoists the loaded arbalest up and begins to walk back up to the roof. "Alright, no cake! Just let me put it back!" Alai grows cautious, taking a step back wondering what was taking Nafis so long. "Ma'a salama, mother fucker!" Taken by surprise, Alai's eyes grow wide as Nafis points the arbalest down at him. He opens fire, sending the bolt towards him. In his rush however, the shot misses its intended target and rips through the shoulder of Alai instead. Alai is knocked back on to the ground, writhing in pain. With little hesitation, Nafis tearfully begins loading a second bolt into the weapon. "I'm sorry it has to be this way, Alai. But you said it yourself though. Kharadeen is cursed. Your mother's a fuckin' elf and your father's a fuckin' elf fucker." Alai begins crawling away on the ground, sweat forming along his brow. His thoughts trace back to his loved ones, both dead and alive. He wanted to get back to his brother, The Caliph. A second shot is fired, piercing Alai's back. His head hits the ground with a thud. At one time, Nafis had taken the Emir under his wing. He taught him how to fight back in Ard'Ghorrock. When his fiance had died, Nafis taught him how to move on without ever forgetting her. But perhaps most importantly, Alai was the first thing Nafis had close to a child of his own, before Almas. Perhaps Alai had a greater impact on Nafis than the latter did on Alai. No one saw Alai fall. And no one saw Nafis carry Alai's corpse back behind the walls of the compound to be buried properly. It was up to God in the Seven Skies whether the young Qali would return to the plane of the living. One thing was certain though. War was a mother fucker.
WuHanXianShi14 0 Share Posted January 24, 2016 Enepay strolled down the spiral staircase, clumsily wriggling into his shirt as he did. Seems he'd just woke up. He rubbed his eyes. "Morning Naf, what're we doin--..." His eyes widened as he saw Alai's corpse, gulping. "...Oh."
