Broken signs

Is there some sort of plugin here I'm missing or something?

Because a lot of signs, especially RP ones seem to either be in broken English or missing large sections of text and I'm not sure why.

Signs have been fairly glitchy for myself as well.

I've had the issue, despite using Vanilla minecraft.

Press escape -> Options -> Language -> Force Unicode Font: Off (turn it on).

 

It's ugly, but it will fix any signs you need to see, and you can just unselect the option after.
