The Discovery of a Book

Marianne Goldoak walks through Laureh'lin, thinking about things, when, in a burst of sudden clumisness, she bumps into a tree. As she stands up, something inside a hollow on it catches her eye. She reaches in her hand, and when she withdraws it, clasped in her fingers is a small book, the cover coated in dust. She blows gently on the cover, revealing words, a name...

Len'elibar Andria'ceru

Marianne opens the book, a journal, and reads through it, stopping when she reaches a picture near the end. She pulls her silver locket out from under her dress, and compares the picture of her as a young child in the locket to one of the elves pictured in the journal. They are nearly identical. She flips back a little, reading one of the more recent entries, though even those are from 22 years ago. Her mouth gapes open as she compares the events here to some that her adoptive parents had told her about before she left human lands.

Marianne closes the book, deciding to find someone to tell her whether her suspicions were correct. Whether Len'elibar Andria'ceru was her mother. Whether Taynei Andria'ceru was her father. Whether the name she had been born with was Mira'ante Andria'ceru. There was only one way to find out, after all. She would need someone to compare the image in her locket and the one in the journal, and say whether they depicted the same person.

Spoiler

Sorry, no tomes here! On a more serious note, it has been extremely difficult for me to have Marianne (or Mira'ante) find out about her birth parents by talking to people. After all, they were never actually played. So I had her discover a journal of her mother's. The picture in the journal I was talking about was a picture of her at 2 with her birth parents, and the one in her locket was one of her at about 2 1/2, after she had been adopted.

Please change the colour to one that doesn't hurt the eyes, otherwise good read.
