Orcish Slavery System

The Snagagoth of the Uzg

A rather new rank within the orcish leadership is that of the Slave Lord, the sole role of this appointed individual is to maintain an updated register on all slaves and the slave trade. On top of this the Snagagoth is tasked with giving trials to slaves that have proven themselves worthy, to allow the slaves to take the first steps onto the stairwary to the honourable rank of honourary.

Three Keys to Slavery, by _pok_

Ownership

To an Orc a Znaga, or slave, should be utilized as a tool. Up until now, slaves captured during raids or by individual Orcs have served Orcs on an individual basis, being confined to RP with only one Orc [Owner + Slave only]. The main focus of this reform is moving away from that and creating a cultural standard for slavery. Every slave will be owned by an individual clan, rather than just a single Orc. For example, if an Ugluk would take a slave during a raid, that raid would become property of the Ugluk clan. However, this does not mean that only the Ugluks may use the slave. Instead, this only means that Ugluks have precedent over any other Orc. Other Orcs in the Uzg can still utilize the slave, interact with it, and order it around. The idea here is that by abolishing the idea of individual ownership, the slave will have multiple people to RP with across different timezones. A major problem with slave RP now is that sometimes slaves can only interact with their master, but if their master isn’t online they have nothing to do. With this new system, slaves should never really have downtime.

Integration

After taking the slave and going through the process of breaking it, the Orcs should then begin to teach the slave the ways of Orcish culture and fully educate them on the society. They should be introduced to leadership as though they were another Orc, taught the blah, and taught to fight. In this way, the slave gets some more RP than simply ‘ok cook me my meal. ok, go build me a fort.’ Slaves should also have a skin made for them that uniquely identifies them. An example of this would be if the Gorkils take a slave, then the slave would wear proper slave clothing that would be black and red to help identify that this slave belongs to the Gorkil clan.

Naming

The very first thing an Orc should do after taking a slave is give it a new name. This symbolizes the transformation from their old life into a life of slavery. Also, the name ought to be very degrading and demoralizing to the slave in question

The Trials

There is no way to ‘earn’ freedom, once a slave always a slave. The thing for a captured and working slave to thrive for, is becoming an honourary. If a slave has been integrated into the orcish community enough and seen worthy by the snaga’goth or rex, the trials will begin.

The snagagoth shall give the slave 4 trials. After succeeding in these harsh, mostly combat related but also, spirit related, trials. The slave has reached its pre-honourary stage. From here the slave has risen above other slaves and is on its way to honourary. Only 2 more, larger tasks will follow, to be concluded with one final task. The last and final task shall be thought of by the Rex himself, to find a way to convince him that the slave is honourable enough to achieve the desired title. If the rex is convinced with the outcome, the slave shall become honourary.

Slaves of the Uzg

Since every slave is property of an individual orc, they are subsequently property of the Uzg as a whole. It is because of this that each clan must register their slaves to the Snaga’Goth Shagarath’Yar to be sure that the slave receives proper protection from the Uzg. This also ensures that if the slave escapes, the entire Uzg will be mobilized in order to hunt that slave down and bring it back into the fold through further beatings.

Roles of Slaves

Slaves are usually categorised in the following three groups:

Domestic Slave

-works in the owners house, simple domestic tasks

-lowest possible position for a slave to be in

-given to the weaker slaves, women or children

Laborer

-works in the mines or on the lumberyards

-has to fulfill a quotum of resources

-given to the stronger, men mostly

Slave Soldier

-Very rare

-Slaves taken on raids to fight alongside orcs, to prove themselves worthy enough to undergo the trials that will make him or her an honourary.

HOW DO I BECOME A SLAVE?

Glad you asked. While all slaves should be taken in RP, if you truly wish to become a slave on your current character, we can arrange for a small RP event during which your character is taken into slavery by a group of Orcs. From there, RP will insue. If you want to become a slave, just message me here on the forums or find me on Skype (Pm me for my skype). We highly wish to emphasise that slavery rp is something that requires ooc consent. If a person is taken during a raid and doesn’t want to be a slave, then please do tell. You will simply be sold or sacrificed instead of kept.

My character is a slave himself, and he has wanted to be an honourary Human before he was captured, so he is striving to obvcourse be honourary.  Would it be considered rude or disrespectful for him to ask to be a slave soldier or to have work so that he may become an honourary human?

Honourary is a gift, an opportunity only given to those we ought elligable enough. The proces of becoming one is along and hard one as well, we thrive it to be quite a rarity so ooc'ly expecting to get it, is wrong. Its something that comes with time and activity.

as for orc soldier, we have fighter slaves no doubt. They are allowed to join us on raids.
