What is roleplaying?:Taking the role of a character that you have made and make choices according to his/her emotions, also developing a story for that character as well.

What is metagaming?: any strategy, action or method used in a game which transcends a prescribed ruleset, uses external factors to affect the game, or goes beyond the supposed limits or environment set by the game.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?:a style of interacting with games or game-like systems, particularly video games, boardgames, and role-playing games, with the aim of maximising progress towards a specific goal, to the exclusion of other considerations such as storytelling, atmosphere and camaraderie.

Thomas Lenium was born in the coastal town of Salvus. His parents, Leo and Jes Lenium, both owned a small  inn together. Thomas grew up seeing different faces and types of people that would spark his curiosity about what life was like outside of his hometown.

Thomas’ father, though, had signed onto a shipping crew to earn money to pay of the family's’ debts. The morning that he left, Thomas (at age 11) woke up early to say goodbye to his father. That was the last time he ever saw him. Weeks turned to months which turned to years of waiting for Leo to return. Sadly, the years of waiting had taken it’s toll on the family. Thomas’ mother couldn’t take care of the inn on her own. Knowing that they were low on coin, a local thug gang offered a small loan that they would collect later with interest.

The Leniums fell into the traps set by the thugs and agreed to the deal. The money had saved the inn, but soon the thugs would be back for the money and Thomas and his mother had almost used all of it. So, in a desperate attempt to earn some coin, Thomas joined a shipping crew just like his father. He worked hard at his new job and earned some of money, too. Then one day, after returning from a long voyage at sea, he was welcomed by the thugs with a blade to his mother’s throat. Thomas tried to persuade the thugs, but they would not listen. They had the upperhand. They had his mother. They killed her right in front of him. After that, he ran. He ran from the thugs, he ran from the town. He ran from the sea.

That was six years ago, now Thomas Lenium goes by only “Thomas” and has been wandering the land of Vailor looking for revenge.“If I ever find my father,” He says, “I will make him sorry for leaving us.”
