What is roleplaying?: Role playing is creating a new life to live inside a different environment or the same totally seperate (unless they're your child etc etc) and un attached to the real world complete to feel like a malleable life/person

What is metagaming?: using outside means of communication or information to gain an advantage commonly used when someone is being attack they get their friends to get online and save them.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: exerting power over others through use of text which they are given no control over such as "etc cuts etcs throat with a piece of wood"

 

In-Character Information
Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

 

Character’s name: (what do you want your character to be called?) Bloode (Blood), The Free Hunter (Bloode is the name and was named thus because of the shade of red in his eyes, scarlet the shade of blood, The free hunter is a self called title)

Character’s sex: (male or female?) Male

Character’s race: (you can find all the playable races here.) mixed lineage of dark elf and high elf (not sure if thats allowed but didn't say that it's not so worth a shot! :D )

Character’s age: (upon application, your character must be 18 or older, and depending on the race, they can be over five hundred years old!) 61

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore.): (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.) Born in Vivec on the outskirts in 1514 Bloode was a quiet child looked down upon along with his parents, as he was a half-breed of a High Elf Father and a Dark Elf Mother often by the age of 6 being left out of groups and being beaten by his peers and neglected in the aftermath by all but a select few individuals whom over the next years would help tend to any wounds he sustained in fights, being intelligent for his age he soon learnt how to avoid people who he recognised did not like him and would cause him serious harm learning their mannerisms. at age 12 the great plague spread accross vailor, Bloode was not new to death he had killed many animals to survive and help his family and pay back the kindness of those who helped him in his younger years and had seen the aftermath of some very vicous drunken brawls where someone had lost their life or the aftermath of raids on defenceless farmers on his forrays into the forests and lands surrounding his homeland but the sheer amount of death the plague caused made him faulter in his belief that any deity at all other than daemons could exist hving contracted plague at such a young age everyone thought he was going to die, half accepting his fate and half defying it he left his home to live his last few days in solitude in the calm forest areas he had found in his various travels around the area, animals sensing he was sick tended to avoid him lest they get ill aswell. Being an experienced hunter he set snares. incredibly weak from his sickness and lack of food he started to go delerious with hunger and sickness resigning himself to his fate, or so he thought at the time while his civilized mind slumbered accepting death his instincts worked over their limit to push his destroyed body past it's limits in a last ditch attempt at survival, honing his body and mind as he went acting more as animal than man. Eventually his mind returned in it full but his instincts had been sharpened to a knifes point and his body trained under a situation of extreme depravity and managing to thrive and survive the plague (varitation green-spot) and because his civilized mind had slumbered through most of his sickness his memories remained intact tho the area he had claimed in his slumbered was covered in so much blood it would seem the scene of a murder. returning home many were suprised by his return but most resented him as they lost family to the plague but this "half-breed animal" survived and looked healthier than most despite his condition when he left. Vowing to never worship anyone or anything ever for anything or one who stoof by while such a monsterous plague swept the land is not worth worshipping choosing instead to resolve to working alone or with people he trusted only working harder than anyone else to obtain as much currency as possible to travel the continent for 14 years he worked cutting wood and hunting to hone his body and skills, discovering 5 years after his recovery that his instincts were a voice he could communicate with as it had obtained understandable thoughts 2 sides of the same coin the animal and the hunter one and the same, getting lost, getting injured these just sharpened both sides apart they would be useless but together they work as a single strategist the hunter and the animal used to find the prey (what is meant here is that his instincts had developed a personality, noticed that someone had a problem understanding what i had really meant well thats it, his instincts had developed a personality of it's own). Leaving for the cloud temple in 1546 just before the splintering of vanderguan and the rise of vandoria. it is 29 years from here we shall watch his journey. Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) methodical, calm, gets lost in thought, likes to eat meat, likes exploring, tends to get lost, appears to be talking to himself when he (well basically is but not?) is but isn't.

Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) to find a use for his talents and gather a large sum of wealth to start a guild, to pay back any people he deems he is indebted, the search of all knowledge

Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) good aim with ranged weapons, nimble, calm under pressure. strong will power (will to live)

Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) thinks of life more as a game of chess than something real when in deep thought, can't stand people in high power therefore causing trouble in towns often, can be too cautious of people... or not enough. (what i meant, sorry if i wasn't clear was he is too detached from the world often being in his own mind more often than in the world itself)

Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) Black hair, red eyes, long grey clothes to cover scars left from falling out of trees and down holes aswell as various animals and creature attacks along with the effects of surviving the plague. upper right side of face scarred cowl lengthened to cover.

Please clarify this.

- Red eyes are only a trait for dark elves, so if you chose the first it would not be possible.

- Red eyes would not be possible for the second pairing either because of how dominant the traits of green/brown eyes from Wood Elves are.

I'm very interested on why exactly his parents would name their child this, elven children are very rare because of their curse of infertility and to name their child something like this is odd, to say the least.

This isn't quite how instincts actually work so I'd like a bit more explanation on this characteristic.

His story would actually be beginning in 1575 (the current server year) which is long after the rise of Vandoria.

These aren't really weakness. Perhaps he isn't too good at close ranged combat because the plague had seriously detrimental affects on his body and sapped his strength, or maybe he has a serious fear of other peoples bodily fluids so that he doesn't get sick again.

To my knowledge, Laurelin is pretty tolerant towards half breed elves so long as they don't meddle with their politics, so I don't really see this happening unless the family was living with the high elves or dark elves.

The reason that the application department so heavily tries to monitor peoples characters if for not only the servers well being, but also for your own. We want you to be able to find roleplay on the server and people who play uncreative characters will not draw people to engage in rp with you. Imagine if we let in every single person who applied with an application for a young boy who survived in the woods because their parents were killed by orcs, so the applicant's character now wants revenge on all orcs so he carries he fathers sword and wants to study the dark arts... Would people really want to role play with every person who applies with the same character arc? Of course not. So in order to help people have unique character we try to steer them away from being 'edgy'. I have actually been encouraged by other members of the team to try to dissuade you from having a character with a serious mental disorder, or one with red eyes, or a hooded assassin daemon worshiper because the LotC community will generally be annoyed by your characters presence because it falls into many of the same categories as the typical 'outcast' type character.
