What is metagaming?: Giving your roleplaying character information that they haven't found out in their own lives.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Power-emoting is saying your character is doing something, mostly in combat, that has a very low chance of actually happening.

 

In-Character Information
Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

Grahv was born into a family of nobles in the Holy Orenian Empire in 1550, but was never accustomed to his family’s way of life. Grahv never wanted to sit in school and learn with the other nobles’ children, he wanted to run free throughout the forests, swim in the local rivers, and explore. Ultimately, however, he wanted to be honorable, as the knights were in the tales he was told. He remembers that, even as a child, he wanted to help people and contribute to the greater good.

 

Grahv’s attitude towards his dream completely changed when, at the age of 22, he witnessed the murder of an innocent man. It was noonday in the summer, the sun was scorching him through his cap. He heard screams for help coming from the east, and adrenaline carried him swiftly to aid the person in distress -- but he was too late. As he reached the origin of the calls for help, he saw the victim get completely run through by a red-eyed man. That victim was his own brother.

 

Ever since that fateful day, Grahv has been completely bent on hunting down the red-eyed man and bringing him to justice. Grahv has been training in many different areas, hoping to be well rounded for his eventual meeting with his brother’s killer. He has a keen sense of hearing, and is a very good archer. He has learned to tame ocelots and Renatian mountain hounds, and enjoys being around animals and in nature. His favorite animal to observe is the amber wolf, and he has a higher liking of canines than felines. His hunt of the red-eyed man has led him to many different locations, including the orcish land of Krugmar (which he barely escaped alive from, giving him a terrible fear of any creature resembling an orc).

Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) A knight or a ranger. Someone to give hope to those who desperately need it.

Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) He is good at tracking and archery.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) Terrible fear of orcs.

Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) Dirt covered, with brown hair. Wears chainmail armor he obtained from a fallen knight.

• Your definitions of metagaming and powergaming are vague, also your powergaming one is somewhat incorrect. And I’d love it if you could include an example of both of these. Here’s a thread that can help you get information about the definitions and ideas for examples, but remember not to copy!

• In your biography, it states that your character is noble, this is not allowed when creating your application, but it’s also an extremely easy fix. Apart from that your biography is well-written.

• Your personality traits, while you’ve picked some good traits, you don’t have a lot of them. I’d love it if you included more personality traits.

• Your strengths/weaknesses are somewhat unbalanced. Your character is good at tracking and archery, but his only weakness is a fear of orcs? I’d love it if you could just generally add more strengths/weaknesses as it tells us a lot about what your character can and can’t do.
