Booklight12 481 Share Posted October 19, 2016 What is Honor Honor can be a variety of things, to different people, creeds, and nations honor varies. However in the Legion we revel in the integrity honor brings, and have a certain standard of honor which must be followed in order to be a proper soldier of this Legion. Honor is what distinguishes us from other lesser organizations which are founded by 3 pillars which consist of Loyalty, Integrity, and Chivalry. Loyalty In order to be a proper Legionnaire one must have unwavering loyalty to the Empire, superior officers, and fellow men at arms. Loyalty is in itself, is to follow commands of your superiors, and act when told to swiftly and with quality. It is as well, to help up fellow comrades and support them when needed, to question later not at the present. Integrity A fine soldier is not one who boasts or broods, but rather the finest soldiers are those who modest at heart, or at least on the surface. As well, one must act particularly, so not to lessen the name of the Legion and his Imperial Majesty John Owyn the Third of House Horen. In the past Orenians were found to be brutish, and bloodthirsty akin to orcs. But we must change this stereotype by acting with a particular decorum, and define stature when in, and out of the uniforms we wear. Chivalry Many claim that Chivalry is only for landed knights of the court, though this belief is untrue. To act with Chivalry is to amalgamate all that is Honorable, and truly define yourself as a just individual who fights solely for the purpose of bettering the Empire, and his Imperial Majesty's’ name. This means that even if not a landed knight we will as Legionnaires follow the conduct of these present day heroes, in order to better ourselves and those around us. Rules of honor Thou shalt follow the rules, and commands of Superiors swiftly and with quality. Thou shalt act with decorum in and out of the uniform as you represent the Legion in every walk of life. Thou shalt help those in need, and never harm an unarmed woman, or child. Thou shalt act with restraint and not solve problems with steel when possible to solve through word of mouth. Thou shalt not fall back, or retreat when faced with odds against you, and fight to the death in the name of your Emperor and Creator. Thou shalt never lie, and always uphold vows, oaths, pledges, and promises you make. Thou shalt face other honorable enemies with equal honor and treat them as an equal, even if an enemy. Thou shalt slay the dishonorable, heretics, and heathens without mercy, or prudence. Honorable combat When facing another honorable opponent be it in sparring, or true combat one must always fight in a respectful truthful manner. In a one on one duel you will face your opponent with not cheap tricks, or facades. You will act truly, in righteous battle. No sand, sucker punches, or stabbings from behind. For all such acts are deceptive, and dishonorable. However, when fighting a dishonored individual, heretic, and heathens that may or may not use such deceptive tricks in a fight. You are able to act in such manners so to equalize the fight, as such people are to be treated without respect. However, even still when faced against such odds it is still respectable to when faced against these individuals to show them the respect even if undeserved. Why is it important Having Honor is important as it distinguishes one man from the lot. Without honor we would be be in chaos. As well, we would simply revert to our roots as stereotypical brutes with no conscious. We must instead act in these manners to preserve the name of the empire so we no longer fall into the trap of hate, revolt, and may enter our Creators’ halls with the respect we gained through life as honest, just individuals.
