Will (TauFirewarrior) 2466 Share Posted October 25, 2016 Uthirs Acceptance Speech, 6th of the Deep Cold 1582 A speech is presented to the people in the square in the Capital of Haelun’or, a somewhat anxious politically hardened ‘aheral takes the stage, lightly grasping the lector as the ‘aheral would take a deep breath before giving his speech “Citizens of Haelun’or, as we all know I’ve been appointed to the position of Uthir. It is a position I had no ambition to attain, I did not seek or ask for, however with the appointment I must abide by this new responsibility and take up the mantle Oren wishes me to. With this I must direct the nation so that we can heal from the wounds gathered over the recent events that we have been subjected to due to the sins of our past. We cannot ignore that some of these wounds the nation has have been self inflicted or caused by the actions of those in the past. Let us however not cast blame but move on immediately so that we can get past these political games of blame and shame, it is up to us to forge a new path for Haelun’or This situation we all find ourselves in is not optimal for any of us, but it is the situation that we find ourselves in, so we must work together to strengthen our nation again so that we can rebuild and progress, we have been stuck in a cycle of destruction and stagnant renewal and this situation no matter how horrible we all perceive it to be is a way to break this cycle and build something new for Haelun’or. We cannot let the mistakes of the past govern us forever, the nation has been weak for some time, stagnant to some and we must ensure that we have room to finally progress and make meaningful change in our Government so that we can move on and strengthen ourselves from this process. I intend to Govern alongside a reformed Council with the Maheral as my advisor on all matters. The Maheral will continue to advise the Government on all matters, this will remain dominant in Elcihi to assure our culture is maintained as it has been for generations before. I call for us to have unity, to those who use to be on the council and those who would seek to assist us in these tough times that have presented itself to us. I seek to work with every citizen of Haelun’or as Uthir, not to be overlord nor tyrant but just as much a servant to the people as the Sohaer was previously. It is only together we can get past these troubles and once more become stronger for ourself, as well as in pursuit of the respect of our counterparts in the Empire and elsewhere. The only people I do not call back to the City are those who partook in the Coup against the former Sohaer, as they were self serving and selfish, ignoring the will of the people of Haelun’or attempting to form a clique based Government from backing from their allies.” "Now is the time for Unity, Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya." "Although I'm reluctant to an Uthir who I've rarely seen in our cihi before - I'll wish him good luck. Perhaps something that Mr. Parion needed before his reign." With a widened set of eyes, she remains puzzled while staring obliviously into the mingling fortifications a moment before jolting herself back into reality again."For the first time in forever, there seems to be someone rational leading Haelun'or... maybe I shall come and dedicate my services again to the state, perhaps Orsino could truly lead us into a new age. However, I have the ***** feeling a coup will happen for no reason despite the potential of this leadership."The maiden would whisk out a parchment, hand scrupulously tending to the paper with intent to communicate with Orsino.
