What’s the rule you agree with the most?: Staying in character; I have had bad experiences on other Minecraft RP servers before, also the rule about no powergaming; Again, I have had some bad experiences on other Minecraft RP servers.

Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense? (if so we can help clear it up!): The only thing that confuses me is the insane amount of lore there is. I am sure I will learn this all eventually, but it would be nice if the staff for LOTC could make the lore more friendly to new players.

How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: minecraftservers.com , on the 5th page or so.

What is roleplaying?: The act of playing as a character and doing what that character would do in that situation (Not what YOU would do in that situation)

What is metagaming?: Having your character know things that you as a player know but your character shouldn't, a great example of this would be having your character know where some treasure is even though your character has never been told where it is RPly.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Power emoting is using emotes that have the effect already determined in the emote ("*Strangles Joe to death with his rope") a more proper format of an emote shows an intent to do something but leaves the result undecided ("*TRIES to strangle Joe to death with his rope") ("*Moves as if to strangle Joe with his rope")

 

In-Character Information
Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

Character’s age: (upon application, your character must be 18 or older, and depending on the race, they can be over five hundred years old!) 26

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore.): (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.) Philias was born around Felsen in the year 1561 (1587-26(my character's age)=1561), and his parents were both normal farmers who worked the land;His mother died in childbirth when he was 7, and on a trip to meet relatives in Savoy his father was stabbed by a bandit;Philias was 9 at the time. Although the name of the bandit is still unknown, it is believed that he was part of a Thieves Guild due a witness account of him((The witness was a friend of the family who was travelling with them));the witness said he wore a small cloth badge on his shirt with unknown writing on it and a drawing of a dagger. Philias grew up as an orphan and had to get used to living in harsh conditions;he also learned how to play the flute after he found a flute carved out of bone discarded in a refuse heap. Philias was never able to travel far from Felsen and the surrounding countryside, but if he could travel anywhere he would want to see the city of Laurelin because he had heard that it was a city that almost rivaled Felsen in its grandness. Philias also learned how to swim by swimming in a local river.

 

         When Philias was 10 Vailor was abandoned;an event that caused a lot of stress for Philias, for he had to leave behind not only the only home he has ever known, but also had to make the transition without any parents to guide him. Philias eventually decided to stay in Beanville, a village just outside of Johannesburg. Due to not having a farm or the ability to make a farm to get food, Philias was forced to beg for food in order to survive. Philias eventually decided that staying as a poor orphan begging for food was not a great way too spend his life, and when he was 13 he decided to get a job working as a miner in a local mine, he didn't get paid that much but it was still enough for him to afford a roof over his head (although not a very good roof). Because of his time spent mining Philias has weaker lungs due to exposure to coal dust. At the age of 17 Philias started saving up his money to buy a sword so that he could live out his dream of avenging his father by finding the bandit who killed his father and giving him a taste of his own medicine (Death). By the age of 19 that dream became a reality. Philias decided to lo leave his job as a miner in order to make more money for himself. Philias tried out for the Orenian Army to give his life purpose (and maybe get him closer to the bandit he is after) but was rejected due to his "lack of upper body strength", so Philias had to become a minstrel temporarily in order to sustain himself. Philias has spent the last few years trying to improve his strength so that he may be accepted into the army. Philias has also forgotten the names of his mother and father because they died so long ago, and he wishes dearly to be able to know their names once more. (He also sold all of his belongings except for his sword and flute (nobody would buy the flute anyways) in order to buy the armor that his is wearing in his skin picture)

((I fixed the cliche by having Philias's dad be killed by a bandit, thus avoiding the polar opposite, in fact, Philias has a lot in common with the typical bandit, he is a disadvantaged person who is used to hardship, and the typical bandit is... well... a disadvantaged person who is used to hardship))

Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Likes: swordplay

Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?)One of Philias's ambitions is to find the bandit he is after in order to avenge his father. Philias also wants to learn the names of his mother and father again, as well as join the Orenian Army in order to get closet to the bandit he is after, And lastly((This wish is kinda impossible for Philias to do, but he wants to do it anyways, despite what people tell him)), Philias wants to go back to Vailor and see the city of Laurelin ((The new Wood Elf capital, Linandri, isn't enough for him, he want's to see Laurelin in all of its old glory))

Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) Philias is good at swimming because swimming was one of the few things he had to pass the time when he was a begger.(He is a strong swimmer, but his ruined lungs prevent him from being a long distance swimmer), Philias is also knows how to play the flute due to experimentation with the bone flute he found, Philias is somewhat good at swordplay and has been practicing for a while, although he is not amazing at sword combat he is better than some.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) Inability: Has weaker lungs (he can't sprint for long distances). (Due to his weaker lungs some people call him "Wheezy"). Weaknesses: Needs more upper body strength so that he may join the Orenian Army (See Ambitions)

Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) Height: 5'11" Weight: 143 lbs Hair Color: Brown, Philias has a mark on his left shoulder from when he got hit a little too hard with a practice sword when he was practicing his swordplay with a friend.

• We need to see at least three, accurate mentions of lore in your application. This can be as simple as mentioning the names of towns or referring to major historical events. The wiki and New Player Guide can provide lots of information that can help you out with this. I only include this since, currently, your persona wouldn't have been born in 1561 - nor would have Johannesburg have existed during this year. Check out the New Player Guide timeline to aid with this aspect (Though, I believe the current server year is now 1587).
• The current notion of avenging your parent's death by killing orcs is somewhat cliche - in fact, the binary opposition between your persona and orcs as a whole is quite predictable. I'd advise replacing it with something else.
• Just a reminder, when you enter the server, your persona will have an empty inventory. Just thought it'd be worth mentioning, since you've mentioned him owning the flute and sword.
• See if you can develop your ambitions/strengths/weaknesses a little further. It would be really nice for you to include more than one or two details for each section since we really want to learn about your persona. Perhaps include a couple of sentences for each section.
