From The Fires of The Pit

The cloaked riders marched on horseback to a deserted camp, the field of battle was gloomy and its air reeked of decaying flesh. Not a day ago the empire they sought to enslave had suffered a terrible defeat at the hands of a coalition. The riders dismounted their steeds and made way for the dark cave, once inside, a large black ferrum vault door opened before them. They stepped into the large temple-complex and were welcomed by their fellow cultists, they looked to the pit below them and it churned with an almost living fury. It was as though something was being born from its never ending flames and its flames hungered. The cult leader, whom was dressed in a ghastly set of armour, screeched and the cultists obeyed. Two members of the clergy were brought forward, the clergymen had been nearly tortured to death, their lives struggled to cling to their bodies. Their nails had been torn off and their faces had been cut. With their robes torn off and their Lorraine crosses burned, they cried out to their GOD but he did not hear them. The cultists held the clergymen tightly and the brooding cult leader carved a grisly symbol into their chests. He gave them one last chance to join him, one last chance to abandon their faith, but they stood defiantly against him. Astaroth, stricken with seething hatred, cast the clergymen into the fires of the pit. The pit roared and flames rose from the pit, the clergymen were no more.

Astaroth sunk to his knees and bowed before the pit, the cultists followed his example. The fires below continued to shoot upright in a violent crescendo of flame and molten fury.. the algorithm was completed, the keys had been turned.
