Notice of Resignation

A sheet of paper is tacked up to the Reedsborough notice board. The handwriting is neat, with a sharp precision to it. It reads,

 

 

I am stepping down from my position as elder of Reedsborough in order to focus on other matters which are becoming increasingly demanding of my time and energy. I have been thinking the matter over for a long time, but I’ve been hesitating from acting upon it until I was sure that Milly would not be the only elder left.

I hope to see a diligent and reasonable person in my place, willing to find realistic solutions to problems our village faces. I especially refer to potentially deadly break-ins by outside threats such as (but not limited to) orc raiders, hostile necrolytes, and wild animals. While a good idea originally, the thin hedge wall, with its gate left wide open and unguarded day and night, has unsurprisingly been unable to keep such dangerous entities from getting inside the village.

I do intend to continue maintaining the local library. Book donations are appreciated.
