Installing & using Journeymap (With map files!)

Recommended Posts

Hi my name is Timothion, I like using Leowarrior's IGN and making maps.

In this thread I'll show you how to install Journey map, that way you'll always have a map of the continent right in your minecraft client!

STEP ONE:

Install minecraft forge:

This is fairly simple, just go to this link https://files.minecraftforge.net/ and follow the instructions.

STEP TWO:

Install Journeymap:

Go to http://journeymap.info and download the latest version

Then go to your minecraft folder and place the .jar in the mods folder (you can get there by typing %appdata% in your windows search bar, it should be the .minecraft folder)

STEP THREE:

Setting up:

Start up your minecraft, log into LOTC and press the J key, press the actions button in the top right and click on DISABLE MAPPING

Log out of LOTC

Once you're logged out of LOTC delete the server (yes just do it)

Then create 3 new ones

Tahn, Ceru, & Asul

Give them all the MC.lotc.co IP adress

Exit minecraft

STEP FOUR:

Installing the map files

Go back to your .minecraft folder, there should be a new folder called Journeymap

click that, then go to the data folder inside, then go to the mp folder.

Download this file and extract the .rar into the mp folder.

Start up minecraft again and log into one of the three new servers you've made

Tahn will have the Tahn map & waypoints

Ceru will have the Ceru map & waypoints

Asul will have the Asul map & waypoints

STEP five

gib tim rep:

giv rep if it worked 5 u plz!!!!

FAQ:

Why do you need 3 servers?

In their infinite wisdom the map team chose to have 3 different islands with overlapping coordinates, Journeymap can't tell the difference so it overwrites the map

There's Black Blocks all over my map?

Yeah you're going to have to live with this, I have no idea how to get rid of them.

Hopefully this guide will help you out. If something isn't clear just shoot me a comment here and i'll try to figure it out for you.

Happy adventuring!

Last I checked, Journeymap let you see players, and when I last talked to a mod, I wasn't allowed to use it because I could see players, even toggling it off I couldn't use it, so, yea, careful using it.
