Sharpblade Clan, the Dune Horde

 

 

Created after the great plague in the year 38 after the boats from Aegis arrived to Asulon. Chaos and death were common at the time. It was Kordo Sharpblade who united a small pack of survivors and led them into the great deserts where the plague would not reach them. Before this event the clan was led by the first Sharpblade chieftain; Kraxoris Sharpblade, the Sharpblade horde raided the few travelers that roamed the desert to seek a safe city to inhabit. Under Kraxoris the Horde prospered, he created the Raiders Code, in this code the four great laws of the Clan were created;

 

1. Family is not created by blood but by loyalty.

2. Women and children must never be slain during raids.

3. Children and women are to be adopted into the Clan.

4. Men must prove themselves in a Blood Duel against a Sharpblade.

 

 

Kraxoris was beloved by all Sharpblades. The Chieftain had many lovers but he never had any offsprings.  Nonetheless, he adopted three children he found in settlements he raided;

Kermis: The eldest, chosen to take over after her father’s death. She was a hardy blond child.

Meridia: The middle child, kind, beloved, and curious.

Kordo: The youngest child, brave, strong, and thick headed. As he grew older Kordo was one of the greatest warriors of the Dune Horde.

 

 

 

 

At the young age of 24 Kermis had the responsibility to lead the Clan. Her first action was to leave the great desert owned by the Uzg. Under her command the Sharpblades moved to the lands of Oren, a young nation created 38 after the boats from Aegis arrived to Asulon. Raids were plentiful in these lands, and the Oren military did not seem to mind the death of its peasants. For a couple years things were good; Raids were constant, loot was plentiful, and the casualties were low. This changed the day the Sharpblades raided the wrong town. The raiders swept through the village without any resistance from the town’s men. When the Sharpblade riders started looking for loot through the town, Meridia reached an odd looking house. When she approached the door a sick man charged out of it. As the sick man charged at the shocked Meridia her sister, Kermis tackled the man and crushed his head against a rock. The infected blood splattered all over Kermis. Meridia was about to help her sister but Kermis ordered her to stay back. Kermis knew her time would soon be over, and she would not risk the Clan to get infected. Leaving Kermis behind by her own orders, Meridia was named the new Chieftain of the Dune Horde.

 

 

When the time came to leave the continent to Elysium Meridia took the responsibility to lead her people through these hard times. Here the Sharpblades adopted many orphans that loss their parents during the dangerous sea voyages. Probably the harshest thing that happened to the Sharpblades were losing their horses, as while at sea their livestock got sick and killed their horses. She traveled with her two adoptive brothers and lovers; Rodrik and Kordo. During their trips until they reached Anthos. Sadly before the Clan could reach Anthos Meridia died giving birth to her youngest son; Kordo II.

 

 

Rodrik took Meridia’s place as Chieftain of the Dune Horde. His rule was short. During his time in charge many of his Clan brothers died fighting as sell swords. The chieftain was killed in a hunting accident by his youngest son; Kordo II. Upon his death his eldest son; Murk, took the responsibility of leading the Horde. Murk had two offsprings; Talia, and Kord. His eldest son Kord was slain in a blood duel against Baldin Sharpblade. Talia in the other hand married Baldin with her father’s blessing.

 

Once more the Sharpblades were in the way of the Uzg nation, this time the roles were inverted, they were the raided not the raiders. Murk and multiple Sharpblades were slaughtered and enslaved. The survivors were few. Some left the Horde and sought to become farmers such was the case of Sharpblades like; Talia, Baldin ,and their children. What was left of the Horde was led by Kordo II Sharpblade.

 

 

During their stay in Athera many Sharpblades that left to become farmers returned, one of them being Haddi Sharpblade the daughter of Talia whose head was sent to Kordo II by Uruk raiders. As an act of revenge during the war between the dwarves of Urguan and the orcs of the Uzg, the Sharpblades started multiple skirmishes and hunts to small orc bands. Kordo’s heart soon became darker and darker, seeking to exterminate all orcs no matter their gender or age. Seeing this his wife Tresha and their oldest son Krex, tried to kill Kordo II. This attempt on his life was stopped by Kordo’s younger son Reonir. Reonir was able to kill his elder brother in one on one combat, then he proceeded to cut his mother’s throat. Ever since that day Kordo II placed Reonir as second in command in all affairs of the clan. Weak in moral and in numbers the Sharpblades were not ready to face their next challenge; the Undead. When the undead attacked only three members survived; Haddi, Kordo II, and Reonir.

 

 

Seeing his father’s weakness Reonir left the Clan deciding to sell his sword to whomever would be willing to pay for it. Haddi much like Reonir became a mercenary. Kordo II broken and maddened by the destruction of his Clan disappeared into the wilderness. Ever since then nothing else has been known of the Sharpblade Clan.
