The faint glow of the rising Sun peaked over the quiet walls of Linandria. Even though most of the city’s inhabitants still tarried in their dreams, numerous citizens tread the overgrown paths. A few of them stood before the altar to the Aspects, hidden from the Sun’s gaze by a dense canopy of leaves and vines. The brazier burned with a fragile steadiness, seemingly on the verge of jumping alife from its basin and dying out altogether at once. Statues to both Cerridwen and Cernunnos overlooked the small gathering, their silhouettes barely illuminated by the faint flicker of the flames.

Guyden Willow stepped up to the base of the altar, his emerald eyes falling upon the embers before gingerly bowing his head. Reaching cautiously with his hands, he withdraws a chain necklace from within his breastplate, weathered and enveloped in vines. He stands there, clasping the necklace firmly.

“From the most delicate of flowers, to the grandest of beasts, nature is something which surrounds us always. Ever present, ever watchful, ever in motion. Even making up that which we draw from the earth, our very selves included. It is because of this precious opportunity bestowed upon us that we must eventually return the favor, becoming one with nature once again.”

He briefly falls silent, allowing the crackling flames to digest his words.
“Preservation of this cycle is key- lest all that is cease.”

Beams of light begin to filter through the foliage, glinting off the morning dew.

Guyden spins on his heel, facing those assembled with a hesitantly passionate demeanor.

“No… rather, the cycle is the door and that delicate balance, which is the Aspect's will, is the key. Through keeping that fragile equilibrium in check, we’re ensuring a promised tomorrow.”
He outstretches his right hand.
“For you-”
He outstretches his left hand.
“those beside you-”
He carefully brings his hands together, clasping them around his necklace once more.
“and all that is them.”

He pauses abruptly, everything with the exception of the roaring pyre holding its breath.
“This being so, there are forces which throw off this harmonious understanding. Famines, disease, fires, floods, corruption, all capable of causing ecological collapse. Above all however, disturbances of descendant or... unnatural origins pose the greatest threat. Robbing from, and abusing, that which is the Aspects.”

The Sun hangs freely over the wall, balanced precisely upon the fine line where wood, stone, and the distant canopy collided with the heavens. The statues now clearly visible in the light of dawn, the Aspect’s figures unequivocal.

“This being so… please, brothers and sisters alike, whether you be of the Aspectist faith or not, regard nature with recognition and respect. Treat it with care, doing whatever you can to uphold that ever tenuous balance. For negligence and disdain to all that is not only causes thy own perpetual path to splinter, but all others as well. The sea of strands making up all that is the Aspects like a ceaseless series of crossroads… eternally interconnected.”
He takes a deep breath, closing his eyes shut.

“Praise the grace of the Mother of Life, Cerridwen."
"Praise the fortitude of the Father of The Hunt, Cernunnos."
"Praise the Aspects in their entirety!”

Sister Orison listened intently from the shadow of the trees nearby the shrine so as to not disturb her student. His words echoed through her ears warmly, and a faint smile spread across her face. She was filled with a deep sense of pride at the words of her student, in her pupil. Soon though, the sermon had finished, and people came and went. A light cough from her signal Guyden to make his way to her.

"For you, Guyden," she said, holding up a bead before placing it into his outstretched palm "Every day you continue to impress me. Now, go. Rest. You will need it for your next task."
