Definitions

 

 

What is Roleplaying?: Playing as a character and staying in the role while interacting with other people doing the same.

What is Metagaming?: Breaking character, as in knowing information you shouldn't or flying, etc. This also means excessively talking outside of the roleplay conversations, talking about the server, about "real life." You want to stay in character as much as you can for this server. Staying in character should be similar to method acting, being your character at all times and following schedules and acting alike to him/her. If the character wouldn't do something, then don't do it.

What is Power-emoting (Powergaming)?: Deciding what happens to another character without their say-so. Also, don't excessively "lead-on" the conversation, stay involved but know your place. Forcing characters to do something is usually bad, unless it is in your character to do so, (e.g. a King or a Town Guard.) Usually, you want to try and set up situations that will have the most interesting and interactive situations as possible.

Character’s sex: (male or female?) Male

Character’s age: (upon application, your character must be 18 or older, and depending on the race, they can be over five hundred years old!) 26

Biography: Harold was from an ancient bloodline, of an old family cast out from the rest. Born in caves far outside mapped territory, Thatch is the decendent of a Highlander named Kuph. After one of Kuph's sons was captured in the night by a roaming bandit group, they were all believed to have been killed. However, the son and his wife escaped the bandits and fled far and covered much ground before they settled. A cave was their destination, and a small facility they did build. They had 3 children, Yorik, Slag, and Jor. Each of the sons left the cave once to bed a lass from a village that they would find. The excursion they each made is called a Leave. After the lass they bedded had a son, they would take the boy and leave the lass to go back to the cave. There, each boy was raised and sent on his own Leave. If they had a girl, only the father would go back to the cave and the girl would stay behind. 

 

After many, many generations, the final descendent of Kuph remained, and left for his Leave. His name was Harold Thatch.

Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Likes the wilderness, likes to be alone. Trained in survival and hand-to-hand combat by his father, Orik. Protective of people he likes, usually avoids conflicts. If he does fight, he kicks ass.

 

Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) He aspires to do what is right and be the best at doing what is right. He wants recognition but still prefers solitude over anything.

 

Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) Combat, detective skills, wilderness survival, willpower. He is excellent at leading.

 

Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) Very gullible, not that smart. He is slightly streetsmart, knows his way around people but not too much. He usually inspires awe over people and this allows him to take control of the situations he is in.

 

Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) Blonde, about 6 foot, and light skin. His features are comparable to Lawrence of Arabia, and he has a scars all over his body from fighting monsters in the forest.
