Definitions

 

 

What is Roleplaying?: Playing as a character and staying in the role while interacting with other people doing the same.

 

Metagaming: Making choices and decisions for your character based on knowledge that your character does not know. Talking as your character in a fashion that only an omniscient being would is also metagaming. Remember, your character is not omniscient so they only know a part of the current events.

 

What is Power-emoting (Powergaming)?: Deciding the events of a scene entirely by yourself, and not letting other characters interact with your own. Keeping the result of an action your character preforms unchanged based on other characters decisions, as well as forcing other characters to have things happen to them without their knowledge or agreement beforehand, or without giving them a chance to rebuttal.

Character’s name: (what do you want your character to be called?) Harold Thatch

Character’s sex: (male or female?) Male

Character’s age: (upon application, your character must be 18 or older, and depending on the race, they can be over five hundred years old!) 26

Biography: Born from a well to do family killed in a terrible accident, Harold was orphaned at a very young age. He was trained by a family friend in his hardiness and grit. The family friend was different than his parents, and so Harold grew up much different than his mother and father. He was trained in a private schooling by the family friend, and is exceptional at hand-to-hand combat and perception. His scars over his body represent the trials his guardian put upon him in his teenage years, from fighting monsters in the wilderness to surviving the cold, desolate ocean by himself. After his gaurdian died, he is left to fend for himself in the world. Harold Thatch has no more family left, and he likes it that way. He's more of a solitary person, having been more of the straightforward type in school. He is an expert with a bow and knife as well, however he has not many allies. He is currently looking for a home in Adelburg. He has no interest in a job but must work to earn money. He can fend for himself in the wilderness but does prefer a cold beer and a warm bed now and then.

Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Loves the wilderness, and likes to be alone. He is trained in survival and hand-to-hand combat by his guardian, Orik. He's protective of people he likes, usually avoids conflicts. If he does fight, he most likely kicks ass.

 

Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) He aspires to do what is right and be the best at doing what is right. He wants recognition but still prefers solitude over anything.

 

Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) Combat, detective skills, wilderness survival, willpower. He is excellent at leading.

 

Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) Very gullible, not that smart. He is slightly streetsmart, knows his way around people but not too much. He might inspire awe over weaker people and this allows him to take control of some of the situations he is in.

 

Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) Blonde, about 6 foot, and light skin. His features are comparable to Lawrence of Arabia, and he has a scars all over his body from fighting monsters in the forest.
