On the Consecration and Removal of Hearth Temples

The consecration of Holy Hearth Temples must be performed as follows. Firstly a senior Brother of the Hearth must be selected by the Hearth Keepers to ascend as Keeper of the new Temple. This Keeper will then oversee the construction of the Temple as well as the curation of the temple library. Once the construction is complete the Brother will use his Flamebrand to ignite the prepared Holy Hearth before a collection of layfolk and fellow priests who will serve as witnesses to the consecration. Following the ignition of the Hearth the newly promoted Keeper will invoke a Paragonian prayer. The specific Paragon invoked in said prayer will henceforth serve as the patron of said temple receiving a prominent shrine and be more open to prayer.

Due to the theological complications around the maintenance of the Holy Hearth and its housing a specific protocol must be adhered to in order to properly remove a Holy Hearth Temple. Firstly the Keeper must explain the situation to the Temple’s patron to mimimize their wroth. It is suggested that the keeper make a series of offerings to the patron prior to the deconstruction. Once the patron has been alerted of the situation all the literature and relics must be removed from the temple proper. Following this the Temple’s priests will use their Flamebrands and blessed oil to burn down the Temple. Once the Temple has burned down the Holy Hearth must be excavated and move to the location of a new temple.
