"Four Lords to rule them all, Four Lords to guide them;

Four Lords to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them."

 

Far to the frozen south of Atlas, the echoes of labor sound; knells of struggle to stack stone into towers amidst the bone-chilling cold. Walls rose in the black horizon, where the sun's rise could not be seen; a design wrought by the hands of the faithless, the godless, the mortal. Among them stood a collection of figures, not lording them as though kings or commanders, but rather assisting in the toil of building.

 

 

During times of rest, these regally-dressed obscurians roam among the masses, chanting doctrine from a black book bearing sigils of old. When the willing fell to their knees in exhaustion, their watchers helped them to their feet and led them into the depth of their construction to bid them repose; and when the willing went sent into nigh-frenzied surges of inspiration to continue through the cold dark of the ever-night, it was the uplifting speeches of their leaders that kept their focus sustained.

 

 

No banner has yet been flown here. Much progress was to be done... but the stonework risen here, in this realm of desolation and frost, was the infancy of a dream to be realized.
