Born in the village of Willow Hollow, Eustace Tuttlerump was an average little halfling. Even as a young halfling, he had a proclivity to smoke and drink. His unhealthy affinity for this made him somewhat undesirable to those who lived with him. This lead to a long battle against alcoholism. He would be adrift for a while, traveling from here to there, bumming for booze and basic necessities to survive. His struggle hit rock bottom when he almost starved to death on a roadside with no provisions. He was only able to live after resorting to feeding on grass and leaves. He took to living in the woods for a time, deprived of his poison, he went through the hard process of going sober cold turkey. After almost dying in the forest, he finally beat his longtime companion, the bottle. This new man was ready to take on the world! Moving back into town, he found a new love, cooking. His passion for food and the making of reformed him into a productive member of society. Now an older man, he can appreciate how far he's come, and what he's done to get there.
