Telanir 6975 Share Posted April 1, 2018 Cause For War War Severity & Casus Belli | March 28th, 2018 Definitions As defined in the freebuild rules. Minor Freebuild Any freebuild settlement consisting of five or less standard buildings, such as typical houses, cottages, a single farm, etc. Major Freebuild Any freebuild settlement consisting of more than five buildings. Includes freebuild cities, farms, towns, large scale strongholds, and more. Conquest The process for conquest of Nations and Major Freebuild. War requires one Major plus two Minor casus belli per siege. Revenge SPECIAL If Group X declares war on Group Y and Group Y survives, then Group Y acquires Three Major CB’s which have an adjusted duration of 8 weeks. Rebellion SPECIAL If Group X in Group Y jurisdiction declares independence from Group Y, then Group Y may use this a casus belli to reclaim the rebelling territory. Betrayal AUTO-SIEGE If Group X is an ally of Group Y but betrays Group Y to help an enemy attack then Group Y may use this to satisfy a siege requirement. The two groups must have a standing and true alliance documented on the forums that is signed by both nation leaders or an official authorized to sign. Breaking a Peace Treaty AUTO-SIEGE If a publicly posted peace treaty is broken between two groups, the party who was "in the right" (as determined by the War Team) may use this to satisfy a siege requirement. Peace treaties are those that end active conflict. Attack on Leadership MAJOR If Group X attempts to kill a member of Group Y’s leadership in Group Y’s land, and it can be proven that Group Y know this was organized by Group X in character, then Group Y may use this as a casus belli. Two Minor Casus Belli MAJOR A group may combine two minor casus belli to count as one major casus belli, or use one major casus belli to satisfy 2 minor requirements. Failing To Uphold Treaty Terms Minor If there is a publicly posted treaty with both nation leaders of Group X and Y signatures in place with a term that Group Y fails to meet then Group X may use this as a casus belli. This does not apply for Peace Treaties. Kidnapping Minor If Group X kidnaps a significant member of Group Y with malicious intent (such as a noble, a member of the royal family, etc.) and Group Y can prove that they know that was the doing of Group X in character, then Group Y may use this as a casus belli. Aiding An Enemy Minor If Group X had no publicly posted and relevant active alliance or treaty with Group Y and helped Group Z attack Group Y, then Group Y may use this as a casus belli against Group X. If a Treaty exists see either Failing to Uphold Treaty Terms or Breaking a Peace Treaty Peace-time Invasion Minor If Group X invades Group Y territory with 8 or more people and disrupts the peace while they are not at war with each other, then Group Y may use this as a casus belli. Denouncement Minor If Group X posts content which denounces Group Y in a fashion that Group Y takes prompt in-roleplay offence to, then Group Y may use this as a casus belli. Minor Freebuild Takeover To capture freebuild on your tile or adjacent tiles to your capital tile. The procedure for this can be found here. All following causes for war apply only to Minor Freebuild. Any casus belli below will do for minor freebuild takeover. Known Enemy of the Nation If Group X knows and can prove that an enemy owns or is harbored within Group Y’s minor freebuild area, then Group X could use this as a casus belli. Within Owned Tile (with Warning) If Group X own the tile, or come into ownership of the tile that Group Y reside on, Group X may give Group Y a 7 day warning to leave or come to realistic terms with Group X. If Group Y do not leave or come to realistic terms then Group X may use this as a casus belli against Group Y. Offensive Building If Group X find the build by Group Y offensive (in roleplay) then Group X may give a 7 day notice to Group Y to remove the build within role-play. If Group Y do not remove the build then Group X may use this as a casus belli against Group Y. This does not relate to nation builds. Abandonment Group X may claim an area deserted by its former inhabitants if inactivity is verified, provided the area is within their zone of influence. (In last 30 days no recorded activity, building, and chest access).
